INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Throttle lock
The throttle lock is designed to prevent accidental throttle operation.
When the lock (A) is pressed, it releases the throttle lever (B), it can be pressed,Make sure the throttle lever is locked when the throttle lock is released.

Press the throttle lock and make sure it returns to its original position after you release it.
Make sure the detent and throttle lever move freely and return to their original position after being released.
Start the cutter and accelerate it to full speed. Release the throttle lever and check that the cutting disc stops. If the cutting blade spins when the throttle is released, you need to adjust the carburetor for idle.

ON/OFF switch
Make sure the cutter motor stops when you turn the switch to the OFF position.

Blade guard
This guard is mounted above the cutting blade and is designed to protect the user from fragments of the blade that may be thrown at them, should the blade break while using the cutter.

Check that the guard above the cutting blade is not cracked or damaged. Replace if damaged. Check that the cutting blade is correctly mounted and shows no signs of damage. A damaged cutting blade can cause personal injury.

Vibration dampening system
The cutter is equipped with a vibration dampening system that is designed to reduce vibration and ease of use. The machine’s vibration damping system reduces the transfer of vibration between the motor unit/cutting equipment and the cutter handle. The motor body, including the cutting equipment, is isolated from the handles by vibration damping units.
Check the vibration damping units regularly for deformation or cracks. Replace them if they are damaged. Check that the vibration damping element is securely fastened.

Careful!

  • A cutting disc may break and cause injury to the operator.
  • The manufacturer of the cutting disc issues warnings and recommendations for its proper use.
  • A cutting disc should be checked before it is assembled on the cutter and periodically during use. Make sure it has no cracks, missing segments or broken pieces. Do not use a damaged cutting disc. Test the integrity of each new cutting disc by running it idle at full throttle for about 1 minute.

Cutting discs
Diamond discs consist of a steel core fitted with segments containing industrial diamonds. When using a diamond blade, make sure it is properly mounted on the cutter and that it rotates in the direction indicated by the arrow on the blade.
When replacing the cutting disc, make sure that its technical specifications correspond to the specifications of the cutter.

Do not use cutting discs with a speed lower than the rated speed of the cutter. Use only diamond blades and metal cutting blades, do not use carbide blades, circular saw blades or wood cutting blades!
Do not cut asbestos!

Diamond blades are ideal for cutting masonry walls and concrete.
During cutting, friction in the cut causes the diamond blade to heat up. If the disc temperature is too high, it can cause the disc to lose tension or crack.

Diamond discs for dry cutting
Although no water is needed for cooling, they must be cooled with air flow. For this reason, these cutting discs are only recommended for intermittent cutting. During cutting the disc should be left for a few seconds, the disc should be allowed to run “free”, without load, to allow the air flow around it to dissipate the heat.

Diamond discs for wet cutting
These discs must be used with water to keep the core and blade segments cool while cutting. They should NOT be used on dry, waterless cuts. Use without water can cause excessive heat build-up, resulting in poor cutting performance, damage to the blade, and a safety hazard to the operator.

ASSEMBLY

Careful!
Do not start the engine while mounting the machine.

  1. Checking the shaft, washer and flange
When replacing the disc, check the flange washers and cutter shaft. Check the condition of the threads, disc contact surfaces and washers. They must not be damaged, they must be clean and have the correct dimensions.

  2. Checking the shaft bushing
Check that the bushing on the cutter spindle shaft lines up with the center hole of the cutting disc.

  3. Checking the direction of rotation of the disc
Make sure the disc rotates in the direction indicated by the arrow on it.

  4. Mounting the cutting disc
The disc sits on the bushing (A) between the inner flange washer (B) and the flange washer (C).
Lock the shaft. Insert a tool into the hole in the cutting head and rotate the blade until it locks
The tightening torque for the screw that secures the cutting disc is 25 Nm.

  5. Reversing the cutting head
The cutter is equipped with a reversible cutting head that allows cutting close to the wall or at ground level, the cut being limited only by the thickness of the blade guard. In case of kickback, it is more difficult to control the machine when cutting with the cutting head inverted. The cutting disc is further from the center of the cutter, which means that the handle and the cutting disc are no longer aligned. Reverse the cutting head only for cuts that are not possible in standard mode.

Loosen the three nuts (A) holding the upper belt guard. Turn the tensioner (B) to the “O” position to loosen the belt.
Remove the upper belt guard.

Disconnect the water hose nipples and handle from the blade guard (C). Remove the stopper (D)

The cutting head is now loose and can be removed from the machine. Remove the strap.

Rotate the bearing housing in the opposite direction and reassemble the stopper.

FUEL SUPPLY

ATTENTION!

  1. Gasoline is flammable. Avoid open flames near fuel. Stop the engine and let it cool before refueling.

  2. RURIS engines are lubricated with special 2TT -MAX oil made for air-cooled 2-stroke gasoline engines. If you do not use an API TC class oil or a higher class, during the warranty period, you risk losing the warranty.
The recommended mixture ratio: 1l gasoline + 25 ml oil 2 times SEE. Gas emissions are controlled by fundamental engine parameters and components (eg: carburetion, ignition timing, muffler)

  3. These engines are certified to run on unleaded gasoline.

  4. Make sure you use gasoline with a minimum octane number of 95.

  5. Unleaded gasoline is recommended to reduce air pollution in order to protect the environment.

  6. Poor quality gasoline or oils can damage the sealing rings, fuel suction hoses, piston, rings, cylinder or engine fuel tank.

Recommended mixing rate

Blending scheme
Petrol liters 1 2 3 4 5
Ml oil for 2-stroke engines 25 50 75 100 125

  • measure exactly the amount of gasoline and for oil, we recommend using a graduated syringe.
  • homogenization is done by stirring the mixture in a fuel container without impurities.
  • put the petrol in a clean fuel container.
  • pour in all the oil and mix well.
  • place a clear label on the outside of the container to avoid confusion with other containers.

COMMISSIONING

Hold the cutter with both hands and maintain a firm grip while working. The right hand should be on the back handle and the left hand on the front handle. Never use the cutter with only one hand.

Stand parallel to the cutting disc. Avoid sitting straight back. In the event of a kickback, the cutter will move in the plane of the cutting disc.

RURIS-RTX800-Concrete-Asphalt-Metal-Cutter-FIG- \(17\)

  • Keep a safe distance from the cutting disc when the engine is running.
  • Never leave the mower unattended with the engine running.
  • Make sure the disc has come to a complete stop before putting the cutter down.
  • The cutter guard must be adjusted so that the back is flush with the workpiece. Dust and sparks from the cut material are collected and thrown away from the user.
  • Maintain good balance and a firm posture while working.
  • Never cut above shoulder height.
  • Never cut from a ladder. Use a platform or scaffold if the cut is above shoulder height.
  • Stand a safe distance from the workpiece. Make sure the blade does not come into contact with other objects when starting the cutter.
  • Start cutting only after the blade has reached maximum speed. Do not apply pressure to the cutting disc, let the cutter work without forcing or putting pressure on the disc. Maintain full speed until cutting is complete.
  • Move the blade slowly back and forth to obtain a small contact area between the blade and the material to be cut. This reduces the temperature of the disc and ensures efficient cutting.

RURIS-RTX800-Concrete-Asphalt-Metal-Cutter-FIG- \(19\)

Dust resulting from cutting

  • The cutter is equipped with a low-pressure disc cooling system that provides maximum suppression of dust resulting from cutting.
  • Use water-cooled cutting discs when possible to reduce dust.
  • Adjust the water flow to capture the dust resulting from cutting. The amount of water required varies depending on the type of material being cut.

Disc jamming during cutting
Make a careful assessment of how the object will move during the final stage of the cut to avoid snagging or jamming. If the object is dropped and the cut begins to close, the disc may jam, resulting in kickback or damage to the disc.

Line cutting
Tilting or twisting in the cutting line will reduce cutting efficiency and damage the disc.

kickback
Kickback can occur when the cutting disc contacts an object or when the cut material closes and the disc is caught in the cut. Contact in the upper portion can cause a quick, reverse reaction that redirects the disc up and back toward the operator. If the cutter disc is caught, it can be quickly pushed back towards the operator. Any of these reactions can cause you to lose control of the cutter, possibly resulting in serious injury.
Don’t rely solely on the safety devices that come with your cutter. As the user of the cutter, you must take several precautions to protect yourself from accidents or injuries during use.

Reactive force
A reactive force is always present when cutting. The force pulls the machine in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the disc. Most of the time this force is insignificant. If the blade is caught or jammed, the reactive force will be strong and you may not be able to control the cutter.

Recoil zone
Never use the kickback area of the disc for cutting. Contact in the kickback area can cause a quick, reverse reaction that redirects the disc up and back toward the operator.

If the kickback area is used for cutting, the reactive force causes the disc to climb into the cut. Do not use the recoil zone. Use the lower dial of the disc to avoid kickback.

Avoiding recoil
The workpiece must always be supported so that the cut remains open. When the cut opens, there is no recoil. If the cut closes and catches the disc, there is always a risk of kickback.

Switching

  1. Make sure the ON/OFF switch is in the ON(I) position, the start position.
  2. Actuate the shock lever and the shock flap will close
  3. Press the decompression valve to reduce the pressure in the cylinder. The relief valve should always be used when starting, it automatically returns to its original position when the cutter starts.
  4. Constantly press the priming pump until it fills with fuel and returns to the tank (about 6 times).RURIS-RTX800-Concrete-Asphalt-Metal-Cutter-FIG- \(26\)
  5. Place the cutter on a solid flat surface. Insert your right foot into the sole of the cutter and with your left hand firmly grasp the handling handle.
CAREFUL! Make sure that the disc does not come into contact with foreign bodies or other objects when starting. With your right hand pull gently until you feel resistance and the starter rope is taut, then in one motion pull steadily. Do not let go of the handle, but bring it back to its initial position with your hand. Repeat the operation on the cutter starter until you hear the first start sign. At this point stop operating the starter. Push the shock back to its original position. Repeat the starter actuation in the same manner until the cutter starts to accelerate. After a few seconds, operate the throttle briefly to stabilize the idle.
When the engine is warm, the shock lever and the priming pump are no longer actuated.
To stop the engine, turn the ON/OFF switch to the OFF(0) position, the stop position.
The images are informative, the supplier reserves the right to make structural and functional changes to the machine presented in this manual.
