Product Information

The RURIS RF5345e is a battery-powered hedge trimmer designed for cutting and shaping hedges and bushes. Product Usage Instructions

GENERAL SAFETY RULES

SAVE THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.

  • WARNING: Do not use this electric clipper until you have read this instruction manual and are familiar with the safety, operating, and maintenance instructions.

WORK AREA SAFETY

  • Keep the work area clean and well lit.
  • Do not use power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of liquids, gases or fuel vapors. Power tools create sparks that can ignite fuel gases or vapors.
  • Keep children and bystanders away. All visitors and pets must be kept a safe distance from the work area.
  • Do not allow children or untrained persons to use this machine.
  • Do not expose power tools to rain or moisture. If water gets into a power tool, it will increase the risk of electric shock.
  • Do not handle the plug or tool with wet hands.
  •  Never allow children to operate the equipment. Never allow adults to operate the equipment without proper instruction.
  • Always wear goggles and a protective mask.
  • Clip long hair above shoulder level to prevent it from getting caught in moving parts.
  • Do not expose the machine to rain, store it indoors.
  • Do not operate in low light conditions.
  • Keep all parts of your body away from any moving part of the machine.
  • Wear long pants, safety boots and gloves. Avoid loose clothing and jewelry that can get caught in moving parts of the machine.

  • Do not use the tool if the switch is not functional.

  • Keep all parts of your body away from moving parts and all hot surfaces of the tool.

  • The cutting blade guard prevents the operator from coming into contact with the sharp blades when the tool is not in use.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING:
If any part is damaged or missing, do not use this tool until the parts are replaced.
Using electric shears with damaged or missing parts can result in serious personal injury.
Do not attempt to modify the tool or create accessories not recommended for use with it.

Do not connect the battery until assembly is complete. Failure to do so could result in accidental start-up and possible personal injury.

INSTALLING AND REMOVING THE BATTERY

IMPORTANT!!

  • The battery is not charged upon purchase. Before using the power tool for the first time, charge the battery. Be sure to read all safety precautions in the battery manual.
  • To install the battery in the bottom of the handle, align the rails on the battery with the rails on the handle and push the battery into the handle until it locks onto the tool.
  • To disconnect the battery, press the battery release button, slide the battery back, and then pull or lift the battery
  • WARNING: Follow the instructions in the battery user manual to avoid battery damage or possible accidents.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  • WARNING: Read and fully understand all instructions and safety information before using the electric scissors. Failure to do so could result in serious injury or death.
  • Do not allow anyone to operate this tool unless they have read this manual. Electric scissors can be dangerous if assembled or misused. Do not use it if you have any doubts or questions about the safe operation.

STARTING/STOPPING

  • Remove the cutting blade guard.
  • To prevent the accidental starting of the tool, it is equipped with safety switches.
  • To turn on the electric shears it is necessary to activate both the trigger on the rear handle and the switch on the front handle.
  • To stop the electric shears, release the trigger on the rear handle or the lock switch on the front handle.

ADJUSTING THE ROTARY HANDLE

  • The handle can be rotated 45° or 90° to the left or right.

To rotate the handle:

  • Disconnect the battery
  • Press the button on the rotary handle.
  • Turn the handle to the right or left.
  • Release the button on the rotary handle.
  • Continue turning the handle until it locks into one of the positions.
  • Note: The handle locks when its rotary knob is in position and the handle will not move any further.
  • WARNING: The unit has one front and one rear handle. Always keep both hands on the handles of the electric scissors.
  • Never hold the hedge with one hand and operate the tool with the other.

CUTTING TIPS

  • WARNING: Never cut near cables or power lines. If the blade gets caught in a cable or power line, DO NOT TOUCH THE BLADE! Continue to hold the tool by the insulated rear handle. Disconnect the damaged electrical cord before attempting to free the blade. Contact with the blade, other conductive parts or live electrical cables will result in death by electrocution or serious injury.
  • Before starting the electric shears, hold it with both hands, with the cutting blades facing away from you. Always use the tool correctly.
  • Do not force the electric scissors.
  • Do not attempt to cut stems or branches that are larger than ¾ inch in diameter.
  • If the blades jam, stop the tool, allow the blade to stop, and disconnect the battery before clearing the jam.
  • Wear gloves when cutting thorny plants.

MAINTENANCE

  • WARNING: Always disconnect the tool’s battery before inspecting, cleaning, or performing any maintenance.
  • WARNING: Never use water or any other liquid to clean or rinse the electric scissors. Remove any build-up of dirt and debris by cleaning the tool with a dry cloth.
  • Note: Periodically inspect the entire product for damaged, missing, or lose parts such as screws, nuts, caps, etc. Tighten all fasteners and covers securely.

MAINTENANCE, STORAGE

  • Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics can be damaged by various types of commercial solvents. Use clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.

  • Always place the guard on the blade before storing or transporting the electric shears. Avoid contact with the sharp teeth of the blade.
  • Clean the electro scissors thoroughly before storing them.

BLADE LUBRICATION

  • WARNING: Always let the blades stop and disconnect the tool battery before lubricating. Failure to do so could result in accidental start-up which could cause serious personal injury.
  • For easier operation and longer blade life, lubricate the blade before and after each use.
  • Disconnect the battery.
  • Place the electric scissors on a flat surface. Apply oil along the blade.
  • Reinstall the battery and resume use.
  • NOTE: If you plan to not use the electric scissors for a long period of time, it is recommended to lubricate the blade periodically.

CLEANING

  • Disconnect the battery.
  • Slide the guard over the blade.
  • Clean dirt and debris from the body of the electric scissors with a cloth moistened with a household detergent.
  • Moisture increases the risk of electric shock. Wipe off any moisture with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Use a small brush or the air outlet of a vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the blade and motor housing.
  • NOTE: Do not use strong detergents on the plastic housing or handle.
  • Do not dispose of electrical equipment, industrial electronics, and components in household waste! Information on WEEE. Considering the provisions of GEO 195/2005 – regarding environmental protection and GEO 5/2015. Consumers will consider the following indications for handing over electrical waste, specified below:
