Overview:

The NVR features various ports including VGA, HDMI, WAN, USB,
and Power POE Ports. The Camera comes with status indicators, lens,
infrared motion sensor, microphone, LED lights, SD card slot,
speaker, and PoE connector.

Installation:

Bracket Installation:

  1. Disassemble the camera by pressing the button and pulling
    it.

  2. Thread the PoE network cable through the bracket and secure it
    into the groove.

  3. Install the bracket on the wall using the provided screw
    kit.

  4. Position the camera inside the shell and reattach it to the
    bracket.

Waterproof Terminal Connection:

To prevent water leakage when installing outdoors, arrange the
PoE power cord indoors or install waterproof terminals.

Connect the NVR to a Monitor:

  1. Power on the NVR and connect it to an electrical outlet.
  2. Connect the NVR to a screen using a VGA or HDMI cord.
  3. Connect a mouse to the NVR using the USB port.
  4. Connect the PoE network cable from the NVR to the camera.

Connect the NVR to a Monitor
1. Power on the NVR with included power adapter. Connect one end of the NVR power adapter to the NVR and the other end to an electrical outlet.
2. Connect the NVR to a screen using a VGA or HDMI cord (not provided).
3. Connect the NVR to a mouse using the USB port on the NVR.
4. Connect one end of the provided PoE network cable to one of the PoE ports on the NVR, and the other end to the PoE connector on the camera.
5. Upon first use, a boot wizard will appear. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up a password.

Connect the NVR to the Wi-Fi Router Connect one end of the provided network cable to the NVR and the other end to the Wi-Fi router. Ensure your phone and the NVR are connected to the same network.
Notes: The NVR must be connected to the Wi-Fi router before pairing with the SmarterHomeTM app.

CONNECT TO SMARTERHOMETM APP
Install App Download the “Kogan SmarterHome” app from the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS).

To Register:
1. If you already have a SmarterHome account, select Log In’. To register a new account, selectSign Up’.
2. The system will automatically recognise your country. If needed, you can manually select your country from the drop-down box. Enter your email address and tap `Get Verification Code’ to continue.
3. A 6-digit code will be sent to the submitted email address. Enter this code before the one-minute timer expires.
4. Continue to the next page and complete your SmarterHome profile.

Set Device in Pairing Mode When the device is first turned on, it may automatically enter pairing mode (the status indicator on the NVR will be slowly flashing red). If not automatically in pairing mode when powered on, you can manually set the device in pairing mode by switching the NVR off/on at the electrical outlet until the status indicator on the NVR is slowly flashing red. Add Device Through Network 1. Once registered, tap “Add Device” on the app’s home page, or the “+” in the upper
right corner, to add a new device through the network. 2. Select the product type from the list of options in the app (Home Security > NVR). 3. Enter your Wi-Fi details. It is important that your SmarterHomeTM device and the app
are connected to the same Wi-Fi network during setup.
Notes: · The device and the app have to use the same Wi-Fi network. · The device is only compatible with 2.4Ghz networks. · Depending on the product, Steps 3 and 4 may be in opposite order.

4. Ensure that the device is in pairing mode with the status indicator on the NVR slowly flashing red and tap “Confirm light is rapidly flashing”.
5. The device will commence the pairing process and connect to the app. Ensure your WiFi router, mobile phone, and the SmarterHomeTM device are kept close until connection is complete.
6. After successfully being added, you will have the option to rename the device and assign it to a location. It will now be listed on the app’s home page. Tap the device listing to enter its control page.
Note: Once connected, you can select Create Scene from the “+” in the upper right corner (or from the Scene tab) to group connected SmarterHomeTM products and automate their functions.

GOOGLE HOME CONTROL
Note: You will need to have set up a Google Home account prior to linking your Kogan SmarterHomeTM device. Adding “SmarterHome” to the Google Home App 1. From the home page of the Google Home app, select the “+” icon (top left corner, see
arrow in the below screenshot) to access the Add and manage’ page. 2. Select Set up device’, then select the `Works with Google’ option.

3. Select the search bar and type `Smarter Home’ to locate the Kogan SmarterHomeTM service.
4. From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHomeTM account using either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you used to register your account.
5. Select “Kogan SmarterHomeTM” from the app options.

6. Tap `Authorise’ to grant Google permission to access the SmarterHomeTM app and your devices.
7. Once connected, the app will display any compatible devices linked to your SmarterHomeTM account. From here you can assign them to rooms and set up any routines. Tap on any of the devices to view a list of available commands.
Note: Please note that Google Home can only control the base/core functions of any compatible SmarterHomeTM devices. To make full use of this product’s smart functionality, please use the Kogan SmarterHomeTM app.

select “Skills & Games” from the sidebar. 2. Select the search bar and type `Smarter Home’ to locate the Kogan SmarterHomeTM
skill.

3. Tap `Enable to Use’ to add the Kogan SmarterHomeTM skill to Alexa. 4. From here, you will be prompted to sign into your SmarterHomeTM account using
either your email or mobile phone number, depending on which method you used to register your account. 5. Select “Kogan SmarterHomeTM” from the app options.

6. Tap `Authorise’ to grant Alexa permission to access the SmarterHomeTM app and your devices.
7. Once connected, the app will perform a search and display the devices linked to your SmarterHomeTM account. When your devices have successfully connected to the Alexa app, you will be able to control your Kogan SmarterHomeTM devices via Alexa’s voice commands.
Note: Please note that Alexa can only control the base/core functions of any compatible SmarterHomeTM devices. To make full use of this product’s smart functionality, please use the Kogan SmarterHomeTM app.

Alarm records of AI detection: Enable the AI function: The AI function must be enabled to record alarms. To enable the AI function, go to Settings Camera Settings AI. Alarm image: Capture the thumbnail, channel number and time of the detected object. Continuous display: The number of thumbnails retained and displayed on the AI sidebar is restricted. When the sidebar is full, older thumbnails will be hidden as new ones are recorded and displayed. If Continuous Display’ is enabled, all thumbnails will be retained. If Continuous Display’ is disabled, the thumbnails will be deleted when they disappear from the sidebar. Today’s message: See how many alarms have been detected for the day.

Status bar of selected camera: AI detection has been triggered. The icon will change according to the detection: for people, for vehicle, for pet, for package. Motion has been detected. The camera is recording. Camera supports PoE. The icon will change according to distance: for long distance (up to 250m if usingCat5E net cable), for short distance.

The NVR is not connected to the app or is offline after being added.

The resolution of the current camera screen. · 1-4 screens: all screens in SD. · 6-8 screens: the first large screen in HD and all others in 360P. · 9 screens: all screens in 360P. Turn privacy mode on/off (if the camera supports privacy mode). Flip the screen. Turn corridor mode on/off (if the camera supports corridor mode). 4-split screens and 7-split screens support corridor mode. Adjust the PTZ angle (if the camera supports the PTZ function). Switch between day and night modes. Turn the microphone on or off.

Network: · Connection Mode: Select Static IP or Dynamic IP according to the network environment. · Channel: Select a Wi-Fi channel. · Tryb Ad-hoc: Select `Auto’ to make the Wi-Fi steadier and manually cascade the cameras. · Anti- jamming: Ensure the secure operation of the network by preventing interference or deliberate disruptions, such as jamming attacks.
Storage: · Record: o Constant mode: When the hard drive is full, it will start to overwrite the stored recordings from the first frame. o All day mode: Set an expiry date for stored footage. Recordings that exceed the expiration time will be automatically deleted. · Disk: View the hard drive usage and format.

IP Camera: · Adding a camera: o Manually: Click Add’ and enter the camera information. o Search for an online device: Click Device Online to search for online devices on the same network. Click the desired camera, clickAdd’ and enter a username and password. · Modify camera: Click to modify the camera name, address, protocol, port, username or password. · Delete camera: Select the camera and click Delete or to delete the camera. · Upgrade camera: Insert a USB with the latest firmware into the NVR USB port and click the icon to upgrade. · Safety protection: Click to create a password for the added camera. The password must be entered to log in through the app or VMS.
Re-adding a Camera: If you delete the camera from the channel and want to add it again, there are two methods (for PoE cameras).
Method 1: 1. Click Setting’ >IP Camera’ to enter the interface. 2. Click Device Online’ to search for online devices which are added before and deleted afterwards. Select the needed camera and clickAdd’.
Method 2: Re-connect the network cable connected to the POE port.

Camera Settings: · Camera: select a camera channel, main bitrate and video encoding format. Note: The following settings of motion detection, person detection and light mode are only for the selected camera channel. Select the corresponding channel to adjust these settings for other cameras. · Motion detection: Enable/disable the function, select the sensitivity and alarm type, set up a defence time and draw a defence area. Click Apply’ to save. · AI detection: Enable/disable the function, select detection type, draw detection area, select sensitivity and alarm type, and set up defence time. Click Apply’ to save. · Sound detection: Enable/disable the function, select the sensitivity and alarm type and set up a defence time. · Light: Select light mode if your cameras support this function. · Alert Linkage: When the AI detection and motion detection alarms are triggered, both a sound and light alarm will play.

Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time (AEDT) Function The AEDT function will automatically turn on if there are AEDT rules in your region. AEDT is the practice of moving the clocks forward one hour from Standard Time during the summer months and changing them back again in the fall.
Display of playback progress bar: · When AEDT starts, there will be one less hour in the day (2:00 becomes 3:00) and one hour will be missing from the progress bar, but the footage from that hour is not lost.

Replace the Hard Drive
1. Remove the screws from the sides of the NVR.

2. Remove the NVR cover and hard drive.

3. Secure the new hard drive (not provided) to the NVR using the 2.5 inch HDD screws (x4) or the 3.5 inch HDD screws (x4).

4. Connect the NVR to the hard drive using the HDD power/data cables.

5. Replace the NVR cover.

6. Replace the screws on the sides of the NVR.
