INSTALLATION
2.1 Microphone
Adjust the direction of the microphone so that the Fin side of the microphone
is facing outward, away from your lips.
2.2 Ear Pads 2.3 Battery AAA Batteries
- If an alternative power source is needed, you can use three AAA batteries (sold separately).
- Performance may depend on battery manufacturers, and quality.
- Ensure to fit batteries with correct polarity.
- Do not mix battery manufacturers or old with new or rechargeable with non-rechargeable batteries.

3.1 Charging

Note :
- The headset includes a Fast Charging feature, allowing it to charge quickly over a short period of time. For example, a user can get up to 3.0 hours of Mesh communication after charging the headset for 20 minutes.
- Any 3rd party USB charger can be used with Sena products if approved by FCC, CE, IC, or other locally approved agencies.
- sing a non-approved charger may cause fire, explosion, leakage, and other hazards which may also reduce the lifetime or performance of the battery.

3.3 Powering On and Off
3.4 Ambient Mode (Default: Disabled)
With the help of Ambient Mode, you are able to hear ambient sound even if you are wearing the headset.
Note: The Ambient Mode has the highest priority, so other functions will be unavailable if the Ambient Mode is activated.
SMARTPHONE USAGE
4.1 Phone Pairing
- Press and hold the Multi-function Button for 3 sec until you hear “Phone Pairing.”
- Select NAUTITALK N2R in the list of Bluetooth devices detected.

4.3.1 Assigning Speed Dial Presets
Speed Dial Presets can be assigned through the Sena Marine App.
4.3.2 Using Speed Dial Presets

Press and hold the (+) Button for 3 sec until you hear “Speed dial.”

Navigate forward or backward by tapping the (+) Button or the (-) Button.

Tap the Multi-function Button to proceed.

MESH INTERCOM
5.1 What is Mesh Intercom?
Mesh Intercom™ instantly provides effortless communication between users
without a pre-grouping process. Freely communicate with virtually unlimited
users in each of the 9 available channels.
5.2 Starting Mesh Intercom 5.3 Channel
Setting (Default: channel 1)
If the Mesh communication experiences interference because other groups are
also using the same channel, you can change to one of the other eight
channels.
- Double tap the Mesh Intercom Button.
- Navigate forward or backward by tapping the (+) Button or the (-) Button.
- Tap the Multi-function Button to save the channel.
Note:
- Channel Setting always starts with channel 1.
- To automatically save a channel after setting it, wait approximately 10 seconds before pressing any other buttons.
- The channel will be saved even if you turn off the NAUTITALK N2R.
- The Sena Marine App can also be used to change the channel.
5.4 Mute/Unmute Mic (Default: Unmute)
Use the MIC Button to mute/unmute the microphone in any Mesh channel. 5.5
Mesh Reach-Out Request
You can request nearby* friends to turn on Mesh Intercom:

To send or receive a request message, you must enable Mesh Reach-Out on the Sena Marine App. Please refer to Section 8.1: “Configuration Setting.”

While your headset’s Mesh Intercom is on, you can send a request message using the Mesh Intercom Button or the Sena Marine App.
- Friends who receive the request message must manually turn on their Mesh Intercom using the Mesh Intercom Button or the Sena Marine App.
Note: Up to 100 m (109 yds) in open terrain
5.6 Audio Multitasking
Audio Multitasking allows you to have a Mesh Intercom conversation while
simultaneously having a two-way radio conversation.
The volume level of the two-way radio conversation will not be reduced during
a Mesh Intercom conversation.
TWO-WAY RADIO

Connect the two-way radio with the NAUTITALK N2R using the *two-way radio cable and port.

Press and hold one of the PTT Buttons to talk.

- You can also create a cable that wires the NAUTITALK N2R and the two-way radio. Follow the diagram below to correctly wire the cable.

FM RADIO
Temporary Stations

The Temporary Preset function automatically finds and saves the nearest 10 radio stations without changing your existing presets stations. Tap the (+) Button 3 times to automatically find and save 10 stations.

The temporary preset stations will be cleared when the headset reboots.
Note: You can save the current station in the Sena Marine App.
CONFIGURATION SETTING AND FIRMWARE UPDATES
8.1 Configuration Setting
You can change the configuration settings of the headset through the Sena Marine App or the Sena Device Manager.

8.1.1 Headset Language
You can select or change the device language, which will stay saved even if
the headset is rebooted.
8.1.2 Mesh Reach-Out (Default: Disabled)
If the Mesh Reach-Out is disabled, a Mesh Reach-Out request message cannot
be sent or received.
8.1.3 Mesh Intercom Vox Sensitivity (Default: 3)
The adjustable Mesh Intercom Vox Sensitivity activates voice transmission
between 5 levels of voice sensitivity. The lower the sensitivity, the louder
you need to speak.
8.1.4 Sidetone (Default: Disabled)
Sidetone is audible feedback from your voice and helps you naturally speak at
the correct level based on the noise conditions of your surroundings. If this
feature is enabled, you can hear what you are saying during an intercom
conversation or a phone call.
8.1.5 Voice Prompt (Default: Enabled)
While some Voice Prompts may be disabled in the software configuration settings, the following voice prompts are always on:
– Battery level indicator
– Speed dial
– FM radio functions
– Mesh Intercom
8.1.6 RDS AF Setting (Default: Disabled)
A radio station with more than one frequency can be used by enabling the Radio Data System (RDS) Alternative Frequency (AF) Setting.
This setting allows a receiver to re-tune to the second frequency location
when the first signal becomes too weak.
8.1.7 FM Station Guide (Default: Enabled)
When FM Station Guide is enabled, FM station frequencies are given by voice
prompts as you select preset stations.
8.1.8 Region Selection
When using the region setting, you can optimize the seek function to avoid unnecessary frequency ranges, allowing you to select the proper FM frequency range for your location.

8.1.9 Firmware Upgrades
You can upgrade the firmware using the Sena Device Manager by connecting the USB Power & Data Cable (USB-C) to your PC.

9.1 Factory Reset
If you wish to erase all of your settings, the headset can be restored to
factory default settings using the Factory Reset feature.
• Press and hold the Multi-function Button for 10 sec until you hear “Headset reset, good-bye. 9.2 Fault Reset
If the headset is not working properly, you can easily reset the unit:
- Locate the Pinhole Fault Reset Button above the Status LED.
- Gently insert a paper clip into the hole and press the Pinhole Fault Reset Button with light pressure.
Note: Fault Reset will not restore the headset to factory default settings.
