Creating a NetBox user in Wisenet WAVE VMS
In many situations, it will be more efficient to only utilize specific Wisenet WAVE video resources with your LenelS2 NetBox integration. This ensures that only necessary video resources are utilized during the integration. To do this, it is recommended that a new Wisenet WAVE user with limited camera viewing permission is created.
Follow the steps below to create and configure the NetBox user in Wisenet WAVE VMS using the Wisenet WAVE Desktop Client application.
1. Create a new user in Wisenet WAVE. In this example, we created a user
called “ netbox ”
2. For Role, select “ Custom “, then “Edit Roles”.
3. Click on “ New role “.
4. Give the new role a name in this example we named it “ NetBox “.
5. Under the “ Permissions ” tab, select all the check boxes
6. Under the “ Camera & Resources” tab, select the cameras to be brought into NetBox.
7. Click “ OK ” to save the new Role and exit the setup.
8. The “ New User ” screen will now allow you to select the new Role. Click “ OK ” when done.
9. Reveal the drop down menu next to “ Enabled ” and select “ Allow digest authentication for this user.”
10. If prompted, reenter the password for this user and click “ OK ” when done.
Configuring Camera Events in Wisenet WAVE VMS for Use with LenelS2 NetBox
Once the integration between Wisenet WAVE VMS and LenelS2 NetBox is established, Wisenet WAVE VMS will have the ability to send certain events to NetBox. The events used to pass video between Wisenet WAVE VMS and LenelS2 NetBox can be configured using Wisenet WAVE’s Rules and Events Engine.
Follow the steps below to configure camera events within Wisenet WAVE VMS for use with your NetBox integration.
1. In the Wisenet WAVE Resource Panel, right-click the camera which will be used to generate the event.
2. Select “ Camera Rules ” from the context menu.
3. Configure the appropriate fields:
a. When: the event category to be configured
b. At: the camera(s) that will trigger the event
c. Event Type: the event type to be triggered (Note: not all events listed
under “When” will list an event here).
d. Action: set to “Write to log.”
e. Interval of action: set this to dictate how often the event will be written
to the log (and be sent to NetBox). Example: if set to 5 seconds, if an event
is triggered more than once in 5 seconds, it will only be written to the log
once.
