Frequently Asked Questions
Does this require an amplifier?****
They are passive (non-amplified) speakers; hence an outside amplifier is necessary. It must be an amplifier with a 70V output, in my opinion.
Does the grill have a volume control?****
Needs some sort of amplification; no controls.
Is this model the Plenum Rated 70/25 Volt model?****
The 70/25 Volt C2G 2×2 Drop-In Ceiling Speaker Model: 41509 are identified on the OEM box as a Plenum Rated Version.
Should the 70/25 Volt version of this product be identified?****
Either. Depending on the amp’s setting.
Why does the speaker in the photo have eight cables coming out of it?****
These speakers can be connected to either ordinary 8 ohm outputs offered by consumer audio equipment OR commercial type 70/25 volt equipment, where different voltage taps is required depending on the number of speakers. These voltage taps are the collection of wires. Two of them can be used with an 8 ohm output consumer stereo or amplifier, and four can be used with a 4 ohm output. If you wire them in series, you can increase that amount by two.
How do ceiling speakers work with TV?****
You can enjoy TV sound through your ceiling speaker system by connecting an analogue cable from your TV to the amplifier, plugging it in, and setting your TV to line output.
What is the use of ceiling speaker?****
Ceiling speakers may communicate exquisitely detailed music from overhead and even improve the surround sound of your speakers, despite their comparatively small size. They are even utilised in theatres to enhance the surround sound experience.
How many ceiling speakers do I need for home theater?****
As a general rule, use one pair of ceiling speakers in spaces larger than 3 m2, and two pairs in spaces larger than 5 m2 for a more wellbalanced sound. However, certain speakers, like the Zuma, are made to fill a room with sound, so in a small room, only one unit may be ideal.
How are speakers in the ceiling powered?****
No, ceiling speakers typically function as passive speakers, which means they lack internal amplifiers and are powered by speaker cables connected to an external amplifier. Each ceiling speaker is connected to the binding posts on the amplifier to do this.
Should I cover the ceiling speakers?****
Yes. The sound quality of your in-ceiling speakers will be diluted if a back box is not installed, and this will cause noise pollution in other rooms in your house.
The distance between ceiling speakers.****
For the sake of alignment, measure your distance from the other ceiling components. Keep the speakers at least eight feet apart as a general guideline. The size of the room will influence this.
Where ceiling speakers should be placed?****
Two pairs, one in front of and one behind your listening position. Mount the speaker(s), if your system only has room for one pair, just in front of where you’ll be listening.
Do speakers need electricity?****
If loudspeakers feature built-in wireless receivers, active transducer elements, or amplifiers, they need power. The majority of speakers and monitors that need power plug into wall sockets, although some use batteries or specialized amplifiers.
Does surround sound work with in-ceiling speakers?****
We appreciate you asking. Naturally, “yes” is the response. To add that immersive extra layer of sound, simply direct your in-ceiling stereo speakers in the desired location before configuring your system.
How are speakers in ceilings measured?****
Take your measurements in inches for the speaker using a ruler or a tape measure. The biggest portion of the cone should be facing up while your speaker is erect. Measure the distance between the mounting frame’s two edges at the speaker’s widest point. So that you won’t forget it later, note the measurement.
How should I choose in-ceiling speakers?****
The finest audio range and the deepest bass typically come from reputable in- ceiling speakers that are 8 inches or larger. Pay particular attention to how well the amplifier that will be used with them is made! To optimize the sound the speakers create, you need a good one.
