Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Wiring Your Solar Controller
- Turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise to move the plate inside terminal downward.
- Peel off the cable tip coating by about 8 to 10 mm.
- Insert the wire into the opening between the plate and the top of the terminal hole.
- Turn the adjuster clockwise to crush the wire in the terminal hole
- Ensure all connections to and from the solar controller are tight.
Step 2: Connecting the Solar Panel
Solar panel voltage selection:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
-
What should I do if my battery voltage is lower than the solar panel voltage?
If your battery voltage is lower than the solar panel voltage, it cannot be charged. Ensure that the solar panel voltage is higher than the battery voltage for proper charging. -
How do I set the charging cut-off voltage for different types of batteries?
After connecting the battery, the controller will automatically detect a 12V/24V DC system voltage. If you are using a different type of battery, you need to manually set the charging cut-off voltage.

BL912 Installation and Setup Tutorial
How to use Y &H BL912 series?
Step 1: The battery must be connected first.
HOW TO WIRE YOUR SOLAR CONTROLLER?
- (Controller terminal side)Turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise until the plate inside terminal moves downward.
- (wire)Please peel off the coating of the cable tip by about 8 to 10 mm
- Insert the wire into the new opening between the plate and the “top” of the terminal hole.
- When turning the adjuster clockwise, the plate moves upward and crushes the wire in the hole of the terminal.
- Make sure all connections going into and from the solar controller are tight.
- Note: This solar controller charging is from high voltage to low voltage, please make sure solar panel voltage is higher than battery voltage, otherwise it cannot be charged.
Step 2:Connect the solar panel
Solar panel voltage selection:
Model | 12V Battery | 24V Battery | |
---|---|---|---|
Maximum Solar Power (W) | 40A | <520W | <1040W |
60A | <720W | <1440W | |
100A | <1200W | <2400W | |
Solar Voltage Range (VOC) | 15V-23V | 30V-45V |
**For safety reasons, connect solar panels and batteries within the recommended range.
Tip: After connecting the battery, the controller will automatically
detect 12V/24V DC system voltage, the system defaults to lead-acid battery, if
it is other types of batteries, you need to set the charging cut-off voltage.
When Wiring, Please
- Make sure your battery must be atleast 60% charged prior to connecting to solar controller.
- Always connect and turn on your battery first! Wire your PV after LCD screen power on.
- Never connect your PV array to the solar controller when LCD OFF.
- Careful your input power and voltage does not exceed the solar controller’s max value.
- Always connect battery first, then solar panel.
Important: During the operation of the controller, heat will be generated at the wiring terminal, incorrect wiring will cause safety hazards.
DO NOT
- Don’t put wire under the terminal’s plate.
- Don’t Put two or more wire in one termnial, each terminal only accpet one.
- Don’t exposed copper outside the terminal; (The exposed copper wire needs to be tightly and completely connected to the terminal.)
- The wiring must be tight and not loose.
Step 3: Connect the load, the load port can only be connected to the LED
lights (can not be connected)
LED lamp voltage value:
Model (BL912) | Connecting a 12V Battery | Connecting a 24V Battery |
---|---|---|
Load Voltage (V) | 12V LED | 24V LED |
LED
| | 40A| 60A| 100A
---|---|---|---|---
**** Load power (W)| 12V Battery| <336W| <504W| <840W
24V Battery| <672W| <1008W| <1680W
- Load power should generally leave a 30% margin.
- Example: 12V battery 100A controller, formula: 12V x 100A x 70% = load maximum power (W)
- Because the battery voltage is floating, LED lights at different voltages will not be the same brightness.
- Example: 12v lithium battery to 12v bulb power supply, lithium battery is full of 12.8v, this time the LED lights will be brighter, when the battery work discharge voltage drop, the voltage value is lower than 12v or 11v, the light bulb will gradually become dark. When the battery power is too low, the bulb may flicker or go out directly. This time indicates that the battery power is low.
