PSE Up & Go Electric for Multifamily
Install EV charging for your tenants at low or no cost
Prepare for the future of transportation with PSE Up & Go Electric for
Multifamily. We’ll help qualifying apartment buildings, condos and other
multifamily properties attract new tenants and keep the ones they have by
covering up to 100 percent of the costs to install and maintain electric
vehicle charging equipment.
Choose from two incentive options
With Up & Go Electric for Multifamily, let PSE handle all aspects of designing
and installing your new EV chargers. Or, design and manage the project
yourself.
PSE-owned turnkey service
- PSE covers 100 percent of installation and maintenance costs up to $10,000 per Level 2 charging port.
- PSE coordinates equipment purchasing, site design, construction and inspection to save you time and money.
- PSE covers all operational and maintenance needs for 10 years.
Customer-owned option
- PSE covers up to 50 percent of installation and upgrade costs up to $2,000 per Level 2 charging port.
- Site host designs and manages purchasing, installation and maintenance of all charging equipment.
Empower Mobility incentives for low-income and Tribal housing providers
Multifamily properties that house Tribal communities or where at least 50 percent of the units are occupied by low-income tenants are eligible for higher incentives for charging equipment, as well as vehicle incentives through Empower Mobility from Up & Go Electric.
Empower Mobility incentive details
- PSE-owned turnkey service: PSE covers 100 percent of installation costs up to $10,000 per Level 2 charging port.
- Customer-owned option: PSE covers 100 percent of installation costs up to $4,000 per Level 2 charging port.
- Both: PSE fully covers line extension costs for customers who need a new transformer to accommodate charger installation.
Empower Mobility EV incentives for shared mobility
Set up a shared mobility program at your property with the help of Empower
Mobility. PSE will provide up to $7,500 per property for either:
- One light-duty EV
- Multiple electric bicycles, scooters, wheelchairs or other non-road EVs (up to $1,000 per vehicle)
Program eligibility
To participate in Up & Go Electric for Multifamily, you must own or manage a
multifamily property with five or more attached units with shared parking and
an electric house or common meter and be a current PSE electric account
holder.
To qualify for Empower Mobility incentives for low-income and Tribal housing
providers, you must be a public or Tribal housing authority. Or, demonstrate
at least half your property’s units house low-income residents and the
chargers and/or EVs will directly benefit those residents.

*Recipients of Empower Mobility incentives for low-income and Tribal housing providers will receive incentives up front. If your project exceeds the incentive limit, we’ll notify you before completing the work.
