DS2800 Controls

Step 2: Control

DS2800 Controls

  1. MODE indicator LEDs light up to show the unit is powered on (ON) and to indicate whether the unit is in 2-in/4-out mode (2-4) or 1-in/8-out mode (1-8).
  2. OUTPUT CHANNEL METER LEDs show the output level for each channel. The CLIP LED should only light occasionally. If the CLIP LED lights continuously, rotate the channel’s LEVEL knob counter-clockwise to reduce the output level.
  3. LEVEL knobs control the output level for each output channel.
  4. POWER button turns the unit on when the button is pressed inward and latched in the ON position. To turn the unit off, press the button inward to unlatch and then release the button to the outward of position.
  5. RACK EARS allows you to mount and fix the unit into a standard 1U rack space.
  6. POWER jack connects the unit to AC power by using the included IEC cable.
  7. OUTPUT jacks send out copies of the input signals received from the  INPUT A/B jacks. Each OUTPUT jack uses balanced cables with XLR connectors and has a dedicated LEVEL control on the front panel.
  8. LINK A/B outputs send out exact copies of the INPUT A/B signals over balanced cables with XLR connectors. The LINK  output levels are not adjustable.
  9. MODE switch toggles between 2-in/4-out mode (2-4, in the inward, latched position) and 1-in/8-out mode (1-8, in the outward, un-latched position).
  10. INPUT A/B jacks accept audio signals from devices that use balanced audio cables with XLR connectors. When the DS2800 is in 1-in/8-out mode (1-8), only the INPUT A XLR jack is active. When in 2-in/4-out mode (2-4), INPUT A  and INPUT B are both active, and each INPUT jack feeds the signal to four output jacks (OUTPUT jacks 1-4 for INPUT A, and OUTPUT jacks 5-8 for INPUT B).

DS2800 Getting started

Step 3: Getting started

  1. Connect the DS2800 to a power outlet by using the included IEC power cable.

  2. Turn all LEVEL knobs down to the fully counter-clockwise setting.

  3. Choose the desired input-output mode by toggling the MODE switch to either the 2-in/4-out mode setting (2-4, in the inward, latched position) or the 1-in/8-out mode setting (1-8, in the outward, un-latched position).

  4. Connect your audio source devices to the INPUT A/B XLR jacks.
NOTE : When the device is in 1-in/8-out mode (1-8), only the INPUT A XLR jack is active. When in 2-in/4-out mode (2-4), INPUT A and INPUT B are both active, and each INPUT jack feeds the signal to four output jacks (OUTPUT jacks 1-4 for INPUT A, and OUTPUT jacks 5-8 for INPUT B).

  5. Connect the OUTPUT and LINK jacks to devices farther down your signal chain.

  6. Power on the DS2800 by pressing the POWER button to the inward latched ON position.

  7. While playing audio from your source devices, rotate each OUTPUT jack’s dedicated LEVEL knob until you reach an output level where the CLIP LED in each OUTPUT CHANNEL METER only lights occasionally. If the CLIP LED for a particular channel lights up continuously, lower the output level by rotating the related LEVEL knob counter-clockwise until the CLIP LED only lights occasionally.
