Important safety Instructions

Safe installation

  1. Read these instructions before handling or connecting the equipment. Keep these instructions. Heed all warnings. Follow all instructions.

  2. Clean only with dry cloth.

  3. Do not use this apparatus near water. Apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and no objects filled with liquids, such as glasses, shall be placed on the apparatus.

  4. Do not place the equipment in a highly humid environment.

  5. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
    Do not place naked # ames, such as lighted candles on or near the product.

  6. Do not placethe equipment in a place where it can su$ er vibrations or shocks.

Optical connection instructions

  • LC/UPC single-mode fiber cable must be used.
  • Keep the connectors lids and cable caps for future removal /protection operations.
  • Carefully align the guides on both connectors when plugging a cable to the device, then push the connector all the way in.
  • Takespecial care to avoid damaging theunp rotected ends of the connectors, as smallscratches, impurities and/or p articles of dirt, oil, grease, sweat, etc. may signifi cantly a set the qualityof the signal.
  • To clean the ends of the connectors, gently rub with a lintfree lens cleaningcloth, dampened using additive-free isopro pyl alcohol.
  • Makesurethe alcohol evaporates fully before conne cting. Keep the connector covers and cable caps in a safe place in case they are needed in the future.
  • Always fit the covers on the connectors of devices that are not connected to cables to prevent the laser beam from damaging the eyes. Do not turn the transmitter on without a fiber optic cable connected to it.

  • The use of theequipment in any other way than the specified in this manual may lead to exposure to harmful radiation.
  • Do not use the equipment in any way that does not comply with the operating instructions or in any conditions that exceed the stipulated atmospheric specifications.
  • The user cannot service this equipment. For technical assistance, contact our technical assistance department.
  • Never point the laser beam at people or animals.

The Ref. 769214 series transceiver is a high performance, costeective module that supports data-rate of 10.3125 Gbps and transmission distance up to 10 km.
The transceiver meets the Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) utilizing an LC/UPC Duplex connector.
