QUICK START GUIDE
HISPEC MAINS RF-PRO ALARMS
Please read through all of the steps thoroughly before installation. It is
essential to “Home Group” all of the alarms in the system, to ensure they will
not communicate with any other nearby systems. Failure to “Home Group” the
system will prevent it from operating correctly.
NOTE – PLEASE ONLY FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU ARE USING THE ALARMS
WITHOUT THE OPTIONAL CONTROL UNIT.
IF YOU ARE USING THE CONTROL UNIT IN THE SYSTEM, FOLLOW THE QUICK START GUIDE
THAT CAME WITH THAT INSTEAD.
DO THIS BEFORE YOU INSTALL ANY OF THE DEVICES!
-
Working on a table top, activate the alarms by sliding them onto their mounting plate. Place the alarms to your right. (If they make a low battery chirp, this will stop when they are finally installed and powered up to charge the batteries).
N.B. When you activate a CO alarm, it makes a VERY LOUD chirp! -
On the first alarm (doesn’t matter which) hold down the small rectangular pairing button on the side of the alarm base for 10 seconds, until the red LED stays lit. This alarm is now in Home Group mode. The red LED will stay lit for 2 minutes. Place this alarm directly in front of you.
-
Now take one alarm from your right and press the small rectangular pairing button on the side of the alarm base TWICE. The red LED will then flash 5 times.
Place this alarm to your left.
N.B. If the red LED goes out on the first alarm, repeat Step 2 for that alarm. -
Repeat Step 3 for any additional alarms you want to add to the Home Group.
-
When you have added all of the alarms to the Home Group, you can test them by:
Smoke, Heat and COMBO: hold the TEST/SILENCE button for up to 20 seconds.
Carbon Monoxide alarm: hold the TEST/RESET button for 3 seconds.
The other Home Grouped alarms should also sound. -
The alarm can then be removed from its base and installed into its location. It will remain in the Home Group.
-
When all alarms are installed, repeat Step 5 to test, and ensure they all sound.
For details on individual alarm devices, consult the
instruction manuals enclosed with them.
