Frequently Asked Questions

What is the capacity of the water reservoir?

This coffeemaker has a water reservoir with a capacity of 12 ounces (350 milliliters).

How do I clean the coffeemaker?

The coffeemaker has a permanent filter that should be cleaned after each use. To clean the coffeemaker, unplug it and remove the water reservoir and carafe. Wash each in warm, soapy water. Rinse well and allow to air dry before replacing them in the appliance. Clean the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers to clean any part of the appliance.

How do I fill the water reservoir?

Remove the lid by turning it counterclockwise and lift it off. Fill the reservoir with cold tap water to within 1/2 inch (1.27 centimeters) from the top. Replace the lid by turning it clockwise until it snaps into place.

How do I turn on/off the appliance?

The On/Off (I/O) switch is located on the back of the appliance. Slide it to “On” for operation and “Off” for deactivation.

What does “Keep Hot” mean?

The Keep Hot carafe plate will keep coffee hot for hours without burning or scorching it. To activate this feature, press and hold down on the button marked “Keep Hot” until you hear two beeps (approximately one second apart). The Keep Hot carafe plate will remain activated as long as you keep your finger pressed down on this button or as long as your appliance is plugged in and turned on. To deactivate this feature, press and hold down on this button again until you hear two beeps (approximately one second apart). If you are using a freshly brewed pot of coffee, we recommend that you wait at least one minute before pouring coffee into your cup so that it can cool slightly. Do not place any object between carafe and the Keep Hot carafe plate while in operation or damage may occur to either component.

How do I use Sneak-a-Cup™?

To activate Sneak-a-Cup™, press and hold down on this button until you hear two beeps (approximately one second apart). You may now remove your cup from under the showerhead without interrupting your brewing cycle or spilling coffee grounds into your cup. When you have finished pouring, press Sneak-a-Cup™ again until you hear two beeps (approximately one second apart) to deactivate Sneak-a-Cup™ so that brewing will resume normally when your cup is placed under the showerhead again. This feature works only when the brewing cycle has been activated by pressing the On/Off (I/O) switch to “On”. If Sneak-a-Cup™ is activated during a preheat cycle, no coffee will be

Does this coffee maker have an automatic turnoff?

This coffee machine is devoid of a timing system. Until manually turned off or unplugged, the coffee maker will continue to operate and heat.

Has this got a keep warm feature?

Most people find that the coffee stays warm enough to enjoy, but there are some coffee drinkers who believe that the coffee must be so hot that it burns their mouths, throats, and stomachs before it can be considered drinkable. These are the people who believe that the coffee must be microwaved to just below boiling, and no coffee maker will keep coffee that hot unless it is a stove-top percolator, so the answer depends on what you prefer.

How should you clean this up after using it?

You can take the filter basket out and throw the filter away after the coffee maker has cooled. You can either wash the filter basket, the carafe, and the carafe cover by hand or in the top rack of the dishwasher. You can clean the remaining surfaces with a moist cloth.

Is it possible to purchase a new filter basket?

I’m not sure. Because the mesh in those baskets (on all coffee makers) is not fine enough, I removed mine. In the bottom of the pot, there is always some sludge (very fine grounds). I only use paper filters and have the basket on hand in case I run out.

Does it require the usage of paper filters?

A four-cup basket-style filter can be used with this coffee machine. The filter can be made out of paper or a durable mesh.
