Installation

  1. Prepare two locations for your new display refrigerator, one for usual service and another for initial setup and periodic maintenance. Both should be level and firm, able to easily bear the fully loaded weight of the device. Both should have the necessary amount of clearance for the device’s ventilation and a well-grounded circuit that can be used by the device alone.
  2. Open and unpack the device. Keep any children and pets away from the packing materials.
  3. Open the doors to the display area. Allow at least 12 hours in the initial location to fully ventilate the refrigerator and to provide time for the refrigerant to fully settle.
  4. Your device was cleaned and checked before leaving the factory, but look it over before use and clean anything that may have become dirty during shipment. If you will store any loosely sealed items in the refrigerator, clean and disinfect all surfaces out of an abundance of caution.
  5. Unlock the adjustable wheels and roll the refrigerator to its usual location. Some models may require 2 or more people. Avoid tilting it more than 45° as you go. Once it’s in place, lock the wheels back down. Check that the shelves are where you will need them to be and that they’re firmly supported.
  6. Connect the power cord and make any adjustments you will need to the refrigerator’s default cooling settings. For best results, allow the machine to run for 1 hour before starting to fill it with items.

Control Panel

WILPREP-REF-BL11-U1-Single-Door-Commercial-
Refrigerator-\(1\)

The digital display normally shows the current shelf temperature. Hold Set until “St” is displayed and then press Set again to see the current target temperature. Press ▼ to see the current condenser sensor temperature. Press Rst to see the current defrost sensor temperature. In each, the display will reset itself automatically. For the compressor, defroster, fan, and drain, their indicator light will shine steadily when they are active, flash when they are in standby and ready to activate after a short time, and be off when they are off.

Operation

Cooling
The default setting of your display refrigerator is to wait a few minutes after startup and then begin activating the compressor, fan, and other components in a staggered fashion to minimize the overlap of inrush current. It then automatically cools its shelves to about 37°F (3°C), rests for a minute, and then begins cooling again if the temperature has risen. It will also begin cooling 1 minute after the shelves are detected to be above 44°F (7°C). This higher value is set by the hysteresis parameter, reducing wear on the compressor. It rests once the shelves reach their target temperature again. The fan blows continuously to circulate the cool air. The pauses protect the compressor and minimize wear from excessively fast cycles of activation and deactivation to give you the longest service life possible. For similar reasons, for best results, cool hot items to room temperature before placing them in the display refrigerator.

Defrosting
After six hours of continuous use, your refrigerator will rest for 20 minutes to defrost its evaporator unless the shelves reach a temperature of 54°F (12°C), in which case it will stop defrosting and begin cooling again after a pause of 1 minute. You can activate defrosting at any time by holding down Rst. This will stop the compressor, reset the normal defrost countdown, and begin defrosting the evaporator until either the set defrost period is over or until the shelf temperature reaches 54°F. Hold Rst while the machine is defrosting to immediately stop defrosting. Cooling will resume after 1 minute.

Customization
Many details of the system’s automatic operation are customizable (see below) but do not adjust its alarms and safety features without professional assistance. Even in warm climates, do not adjust its settings so that it defrosts less often than at least 10 minutes every 6 hours.

  • All such adjustments to the parameters are made at the user’s own risk and may void any warranty stated or implied.

Stocking
As you stock items, be careful not to overload the shelves by weight or size. Items that hang over the edges can easily fall and the device relies on the open areas for its designed cooling. In particular, be careful not to block the cooling system’s inlet or outlet. If you remove items at the end of the day to turn the refrigerator off, allow some time for it to cool down before adding items in the morning. In the recommended climatic conditions, it should take about half an hour for it to cool from 85° to 40°F (30° to 5°C) or below.

Adjustment

Temperature Adjustment
To adjust your device’s target temperature, hold Set until “St” is displayed. Press Set again. Use ▲ and to set the new temperature. Press Rst or wait for the display to reset to the current shelf temperature to save your changes.

Parameter Adjustment
Hold Set until “St” is displayed and press ▲ to enter the parameter adjustment menus. To prevent unauthorized changes, the parameter menus are passcode protected. When “Pa” is displayed, press Set to change the display to “00”. Use ▲ and ▼ to change the value to the current passcode. The default setting is 55. You can hold ▲ or ▼ down to change the numbers more quickly. Press Set again to enter the passcode. If your passcode is correct, the display will return to “Pa” but you will now be able to use ▲ and ▼ to scroll through the different parameters. Press Set to adjust any parameter. Use ▲ and ▼ to change its value. Press Set to save your changes and return to the parameter menus. Press Rst or wait for the display to reset to the current shelf temperature to exit entirely, while still saving your changes. The parameter menus cycle from C1 to C8 for the main compressor and cooling parameters, then d1 to d11 for the defrosting parameters, then F1 to F3 for the circulation fan parameters, then A1 to A12 for the alarm parameters, then do1 to do2 for the door parameters, then cd1 to cd3 for the condenser sensor parameters before starting again.

Main Compressor Parameters

Code| Parameter| Default Values
Celsius| Fahrenheit
C1| Hysteresis Value| 4°C| 7°F
C2| Usual Compressor Delay| 1 min.| 1 min.
C3| Initial Compressor Delay| 2 min.| 2 min.
C4| Cabinet Sensor Offset| °C| °F
C5| Min. Target Temperature| 0°C| 32°F
C6| Max. Target Temperature| 10°C| 50°F
C7| Initial Standby Period| 9 min.| 9 min.
C8| Min. Compressor Time| Disabled| Disabled

The first set of C parameters control the compressor and the cabinet temperature settings. C1, C2, and C3 control the smoothing involved in reactivating the compressor; values lower than 6°F may be necessary for some products but will involve increased wear and a shorter operating life. C4 is calibrated separately for each machine at the factory to ensure proper functioning and should not normally need adjustment. C5 and C6 control the range of target temperatures available when using the Set button. If there is any reason to worry that someone might adjust the temperatures improperly, this adjustment range can be narrowed to limit their options. C7 controls the pause after the compressor finishes initial cooling of the cabinet. Setting its value to 0 disables this function. C8 sets a minimum amount of time the compressor must run once it activates. This is normally disabled but can be set as high as 90 minutes if necessary.

Main Defrosting Parameters

Code| Parameter| Default Values
Celsius| Fahrenheit
d1| Defrost Sensor| 0| 0
d2| Defrost Sensor Offset| °C| °F
d3| Defrost Cycle Calculation| 1| 1
d4| Min. Defrost Schedule| 6 hr.| 6 hr.
d5| Defrost Temp. Display| 3| 3
d6| Defrost Cycle Duration| 20 min.| 20 min.
d7| Defrost Cutoff Temp.| 12°C| 54°F
d8| Defrost Draining Duration| 2 min.| 2 min.
d9| Temp. Display Delay| 10 min.| 10 min.
d10| Defrost Delay| 2 min.| 2 min.
d11| Defrost Type| 0| 0

d1 enables the defrost sensor and should not normally be adjusted. d2 is calibrated separately for each machine at the factory to ensure proper functioning and should not normally need adjustment. d3 sets the way the device will calculate its defrost schedule. When it is set to 0, it is calculated according to the amount of time the compressor has been active. When it is set to 1, it is calculated according to the amount of time the device has been on. If this setting is changed, the defrost schedule should be adjusted similarly. d4 and d6 set the defrost schedule. They can be adjusted in some areas and seasons but do not set either to less than 10 minutes every 6 hours, since the evaporator can become much colder than the ambient temperature. d5 controls the temperature display during defrost and draining. It can be set to show the cabinet’s actual temperature during defrosting and draining (00), to continue to show the last temperature before defrosting until 10 minutes after defrosting and draining ends (03), or to show “dEF” during defrosting and then return to the actual cabinet temperature 10 minutes after defrosting ends (01) or 10 minutes after draining ends (02). d7 can be adjusted to as needed for your products. It automatically ends defrosting early if the cabinet reaches the set temperature. d8 may require adjustment depending on the humidity of the area. Provide enough time that the cabinet can fully drain after defrosting. d9 sets the delay used by some of the d5 settings. d10 sets the delay before defrosting starts. Setting it to 0 deactivates the function. d11 should not be adjusted. If ever accidentally is, reset it to 0 before resuming use of the device.

Circulation Fan Parameters

Code| Parameter| Default Values
Celsius| Fahrenheit
F1| Fan Mode| 3| 3
F2| Initial Fan Delay| 4 min.| 4 min.
F3| Post-Defrost Fan Delay| 2 min.| 2 min.

F1 sets the circulation fan’s basic behavior. It should only be set to continuous operation (03). F2 sets an initial delay on the fan to minimize the power load during startup. F3 sets the delay after defrosting used by one of the F1 settings. The 12 alarm parameters should never be adjusted except in consultation with Customer Service and a trained electrician or HVAC professional.

Door Parameters

Code| Parameter| Default Values
Celsius| Fahrenheit
do1| Door Mode| 0| 0
do2| Open Door Alarm| 0| 0

do1 can be used to adjust the behavior of the device when the cabinet door is open. The default is for the refrigerator to ignore the door and operate normally (00). This can be toggled to turn off the fan when the door is open (01), to turn the light on only when the door is open and turn it off at other times (02), or both (03). The device can also be set to run a defrost cycle every time the door is opened (04), although this is not recommended for most applications. do2 can be toggled to 1 to activate an alarm every time the door is opened, although this is not recommended for most applications.  The 3 condenser sensor parameters should never be adjusted except in consultation with Customer Service and a trained electrician or HVAC professional.

Changing the Temperature Units
To change the temperature units used and displayed by the refrigerator, hold ⯆ until “H00” is displayed. To toggle from Fahrenheit to Celsius, press ⯆ until “H12” is displayed. Press Set and then Rst. The display should shift to Celsius values and all parameters should change to their Celsius factory defaults. Go through the menus to confirm this and make any necessary adjustments as you go. To toggle from Celsius to Fahrenheit, press ⯆ until “H07” is displayed. Press Set and then Rst. The  display should shift to Fahrenheit values, but the parameters will all be blanked. Go through the menus, setting the default values listed above with any necessary adjustments.

Maintenance

  • Always fully disconnect your display refrigerator from power before any cleaning, draining, repair, or other maintenance.
  • Dry and clean this device with a soft dry cloth as needed. Clean any dust from the vents and condenser every 3 months in most cases and at least once every 6 months even in clean and dry locations.
  • If additional cleaners are ever necessary, use a wetted cloth and mild detergent. Rinse soap and residue with a second wetted cloth. Never use alcohol or caustic cleaners. Never spray, splash, or otherwise apply water directly onto the refrigerator and never allow any electronic component to become wet. If any accidentally does become wet, disconnect the device from power and wait until it is fully dry before attempting to resume use.
  • Always provide adequate ventilation for your device and ensure the parameter settings allow enough time for the compressor to fully defrost as it works. For best results, keep the doors closed as much as possible, particularly overnight, to minimize wear and prolong your device’s service life.
  • Under normal use in its recommended climate, this device’s tray will allow condensation and frost from the compressor to fully evaporate without any additional maintenance. In high humidity areas and seasons, however, the tray may require draining to avoid overflow. For this reason, never leave other electrical cords lying on surfaces next to this device.
  • Periodically check that this device’s inlet and outlet remain unobstructed and that no component shows any looseness, wear, or damage. Tighten, repair, or replace any problematic part before further use. Always fully replace any worn or damaged power cords. Never adjust, repair, or replace this device’s refrigerated or electronic components—including the LED lights—without specialized technical training.
  • If this device will not be used for an extended period, clean it, open its doors, disconnect it from power, and store it in a cool dry area away from direct sunlight and inaccessible to children.

Troubleshooting

A sound of gurgling water during use is normal. If the compressor shuts down or causes its circuit to blow, 1st, wait five minutes before attempting to restart it. 2nd, during that time, check that no other devices are on the same circuit and that all inlets and outlets are clear. 3rd, if the problem continues, run a full defrost cycle to clear any frost from the compressor. 4th, use a time delay fuse to allow the compressor’s higher initial load.

Other problems will display an error code on the main display:
