IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using this or any other electrical appliance, always follow these basic safety precautions:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.
WARNING! To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or serious personal injury:

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Always use the product on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • The appliance must only be used with both plates properly installed.
  • The temperature of the accessible surfaces may be very high when the appliance is in use. Make sure not to touch these hot parts of the appliance.
  • Use the product in a well-ventilated area. Keep at least 4-6 inches of space on all sides of the product to allow adequate air circulation.
  • Do not place the product on or near a gas or electric burner, or inside or on top of a heated oven or other heat source.
  • Do not allow the product to touch curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dishtowels, or other flammable materials during its use.
  • Do not touch the hot surfaces of the product. Do not move the product while it is plugged in. Allow the product to thoroughly cool before handling it.
  • Do not line the Drip Tray with aluminium foil or any other material.
  • Do not use attachments not recommended for use with this product or sold by the product manufacturer.
  • Do not use the product near water or other liquids.
  • Do not place or drop the product into water or other liquids. If the product falls into water, immediately unplug it from the electrical outlet. Do not touch or reach into the water.
  • Do not leave the product unattended while it is in use. The appliance is not intended to be operated using an external timer or a separate remote-control system.
  • Do not put any stress on the Power Cord where it connects to the product as the Power Cord could fray and break.
  • Do not plug or unplug the product into/from an electrical outlet with a wet hand.
  • The device is not designed to operate from an external timer or a separate remote control system.
  • Keep the product and its Power Cord away from heated surfaces.
  • Never operate this product if it has a damaged Power Cord or Plug, is not working properly, has been dropped, damaged, or exposed to water or other liquids.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.
  • CAUTION! To reduce the risk of personal injury or product/ property damage:
  • This product is intended for indoor, non-industrial, noncommercial, household use only as a panini maker and healthy grill. Do not use the item outdoors or for any other purpose.
  • Do not allow the Power Cord to hang where it may be tripped over or pulled (e.g., over the edge of a table or counter).

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

  • To avoid a circuit overload when using this product, do not operate another high-wattage product on the same electrical circuit.
  • A short power supply cord is provided with this product.
  • An extension cord is not recommended for use with this product, but if one must be used:
  • The marked electrical rating of the cord must be at least as great as that of the product.
  • Arrange the extension cord so that it does not hang where it can be tripped over or pulled unintentionally.

DESCRIPTION

The grill is designed for cooking various types of food by frying them on a heated panel or between both heated panels.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Once the appliance is assembled properly and you are ready to begin cooking, turn the Selector to the left to choose the Griddle function or to the right to choose the Grill/Panini function, depending on what you intend to cook. When the knob is turned to either function, a green indicator light will illuminate to indicate that the power is on.
  • If you intend to use the appliance as a Flat Grill or Griddle, but you do not need the entire surface, use the bottom plate.
  • It may take up to 8 minutes to reach operating temperature, depending on the temperature level that was set. When the thermostat has reached operating temperature, a green indicator light inside the chosen control will indicate that the appliance is ready for cooking. During operation, the light will continue to turn on and off as the thermostat regulates the temperature. This is normal.
  • The temperature controls are used to set and maintain the temperature of the cooking surface. You may vary the setting of the control knob at any time during cooking and may wish to do so depending on the types of foods on the cooking plate.
  • Always exercise caution when handling the appliance during cooking.
  • To open the appliance grasp the black plastic area of the handle. This part of the handle stays cool to the touch while cooking.
  • The arms are made of die-cast aluminium and will become hot during use. Do not touch them during or immediately following cooking.
  • The appliance housing will become hot during use.
  • The cover is made of stainless steel and will become very hot and should not be touched during or immediately following cooking. If you need to adjust the cover be sure to use an oven mitt to prevent burns.
  • The lower housing is made of plastic, and while it will become very warm it will not burn you. If you need to move the appliance during cooking be sure to handle it from the base only. Do not touch the cover.
  • Allow the appliance to cool down before handling (at least 30 minutes).

USING THE DEVICE

CAUTION! Do not use this product to cook or defrost frozen food.
All food must be completely defrosted before cooking it with this product.
NOTE: during the initial uses of this product, it may produce some smoke. This is normal and will subside with further use.

  1. Before using this product for the first time, clean it as described in the “Care and Maintenance” section. Make sure to replace the Drip Tray.

  2. Press in the end of the Locking Latch nearest the Handle to unlock the product.

  3. Open the unit by pulling the handle up.

  4. To remove the baking plates, press the release buttons, and take out the baking plates.

  5. Place the desired plates in the appliance by inserting the plate locking tabs in the plate locking openings and press on the plates till you hear a click. You may season the plates with butter, margarine or cooking fat. Since the appliance has a non-stick-coated surface, the use of butter or oil is optional.

  6. Close the Plates and turn the unit on by plugging it into a standard electrical outlet. Verify that the Power Indicator Light illuminates in orange.
    WARNING! The Cooking Plates and metal surfaces of the unit will become extremely hot when in use. To avoid a burn hazard, wear heat-resistant mitts or gloves and touch only the black portion of the Handle.

  7. After the unit preheats for approximately five minutes, the Ready Indicator Light will illuminate in green, indicating the product is ready for use.

  8. Use the Handle to lift the Upper Plate. Place food on the Lower Plate using wooden or plastic heat-resistant utensils.
    CAUTION! Do not use metal utensils on this product, as they will scratch and damage the Plates’ non-stick coating.

  9. Use the Handle to lower and rest the Upper Plate on top of the food.
    NOTES:

    • The cooking time for different foods depends on the type and thickness of the foods.
    • Foods should be cooked thoroughly before consumption.
  10. When the food is cooked as desired, lift the Handle to open the Plates, then remove the food using the utensils. If more cooking will be done at this time, close the Plates to conserve heat.

  11. Repeat Steps 7-9 until all cooking is complete, reapplying cooking oil as necessary.

  12. Turn off the product by unplugging the Power Cord from the electrical outlet.

  13. When the unit has completely cooled, clean and dry it.

  14. Lock the unit in its closed position by pressing in the end of the Locking Latch farthest from the Handle.

COOKING MODES

The device can be used in three different modes: grill, mini-oven, and plate.
Grill Mode

  • Set the temperature of the heating panels.
  • When the device warms up, carefully open the lid.
  • Place the products on the lower worktop, holding the lid by the handle.
  • Cover the products with the lid, lowering it to the lower work panel.
  • When closing the lid, do not apply excessive force, as this can damage the device.
  • Set the required cooking time on the timer.

Mini-oven Mode

  • Set the temperature of the heating panels.
  • When the device warms up, carefully open the lid by the handle.
  • Set the required position of the upper panel using the lock.
  • Place the products on the lower work panel and set the required time on the timer.
  • Close the lid without pressing.

WARNING! In the «Mini-oven» mode, the cover from the upper working panel is located with a gap concerning the lower working panel. Do not apply pressure to the cover, as this may damage the latch, handle or cover.
Plate Mode

  • Set the temperature of the heating panels.
  • When the device warms up, carefully open the lid.
  • Using the latch on the right side of the grill, open the appliance at 180°.
  • Place the products on the lower heating panel or on both heating panels.

CLEANING

  • Before cleaning, unplug and wait for the appliance and the plates to cool down.
  • Wipe the outside with only a slightly moistened cloth ensuring that no moisture, oil or grease enters the cooling slots.
  • To clean the plates you can let them in the appliance or remove them from the appliance (therefore press on the button 2 near the handle and remove them (see picture). If you let them in the appliance, wipe the plates with a damp cloth or towel. If you remove them from the appliance, you can wash them under running water. Dry them afterwards.
  • Never place the plates in the dishwasher.
  • Do not clean the inside or outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool as this will damage the finish.
  • Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.

CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THIS PRODUCT

This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed of with other household wastes throughout the EU.
To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used device, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer where the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmentally safe recycling.

Warranty

Warranty conditions

  • The plant guarantees normal operation of the product within 12 months from the date of the sale, provided that the consumer complies with the rules of operation and care provided by this Manual.
  • The service life of the product is 5 years.
  • To avoid any misunderstanding we kindly ask you to carefully study the Owner’s Manual, the terms of warranty, and check the correctness of filling out the Warranty Card. The Warranty Card is valid only if the following information is correct and stated: model, serial number of the product, date of sale, clear seals of the company-seller, and signature of the buyer.
  • The model and serial number of the product must correspond to those specified in the Warranty Card.
  • If these terms are violated, and if the information specified in the Warranty Card is changed, erased or rewritten, the Warranty Card is considered invalid.
  • Setup and installation (assembly, connection, etc.) of the appliance are described in the attached documentation; they can be carried out both by the user and by specialists having the necessary qualifications set by USC or selling companies (on a paid basis).
  • In this case, the person (the institution) installing the appliance shall be responsible for the correctness and quality of installation (setup).
  • Please pay attention to the importance of the correct installation of the appliance, both for its reliable operation and for obtaining a warranty and free service.
  • Require the installation specialist to enter all the necessary information about the installation in the Warranty Card.
  • In case of failure of the appliance during the warranty period by the fault of the manufacturer, the owner is entitled to free warranty repair upon presentation of the correctly filled Warranty Card together with the appliance in the factory configuration packed in the original packaging to the warranty workshop or the place of its purchase. Satisfaction of the customer’s claim due to the fault of the manufacturer shall be made under the law «On Protection of Consumers’ Rights». In the case of warranty repair, the warranty period shall be extended for the period of repair and shipment.

WARRANTY CARD

Dear Buyer! Congratulations on your purchase of the ARDESTO brand appliance, which was designed and manufactured under the highest quality standards, and we thank you for choosing this particular instrument.
We ask you to keep the coupon during the warranty period. When purchasing a product, require a full warranty card.

  1. Warranty service is carried out only if there is a correctly and filled original warranty card, which indicates: the product model, date of sale, serial number, warranty service period, and the seller’s seal. *
  2. The service life of household appliances is 5 years.
  3. The product is intended for consumer use. When using the product in commercial activities, the seller/manufacturer does not bear warranty obligations, and after-sales service is performed on a paid basis.
  4. Warranty repair is carried out within the period specified in the warranty card for the product in an authorized service centre on the conditions and terms determined by applicable law.
  5. The product is withdrawn from the warranty in case of violation by the consumer of the operating rules outlined in the instruction manual.
  6. The product is removed from warranty service in the following cases:
    • misuse and non-consumer use;
    • mechanical damage;
    • damage caused by the ingress of foreign objects, substances, liquids, and insects;
    • damage caused by natural disasters (rain, wind, lightning, etc.), fire, domestic factors (excessive humidity, dust, aggressive environment, etc.)
    • damage caused by non-compliance of power and cable network parameters with state standards and other similar factors;
    • when operating equipment in the power supply network with a missing single ground loop;
    • in case of violation of seals installed on the product;
    • lack of serial number of the device, or inability to identify it.
  7. The warranty does not cover consumables and accessories, as well as filters, shelves, drawers, stands and other containers for storing products.
  8. The warranty period is 12 months from the date of sale.

Tear-off maintenance tickets are provided by an authorized service centre.
The completeness of the product is checked. I have read the terms of the warranty service, no complaints.
