1. Name of Each Part
2. Outline
PCH-M is attached to a riveting tool and used to enable fastening in narrow
spaces. An adaptor kit (sold separately) is required to attach to the rivet
tool. (See 9. Options)
2-1. Fastenable Rivets (Table 2-1) and Nosepiece Compatibility Table (Table
2-2)
Use a nosepiece that matches the rivet part number. Using a different
nosepiece may cause rivet fastening failure or tool malfunction.
(Table 2-1) Fastenable Rivets
- When fastening Rivet type 3.2 Stem with a diameter 1.6 mm, use Jaw/71200-15001 (sold separately).
- TLrivets BULBEX Depending on the thickness of the fastening plate, fastening may not be completed in a single operation.
- When using ProSet XT2, a supply air pressure of 0.60 MPa is required.
3. Specifications (Dimensional Drawings)
4. Preparation Before Use
- Check that a nosepiece that is compatible with the rivets used is installed. If an incompatible nosepiece is installed, replace it with a compatible one. (Table 2-1, Table 2-2) * For replacement method, refer to P. 10 and the instruction manual of each tool.
- An adaptor kit (sold separately) is required in addition to the rivet tool to use PCH-M. Use an adaptor kit that is compatible with the tool to be installed. (See 9.Options) For information on how to install and use the adaptor kit, please refer to the instruction manual that comes with the kit.
5. Precautions for Use
-
Operating environment, conditions, etc. Please read the instruction manual of each tool to be installed carefully for the operating environment and conditions. Use of a tool outside of the operating environment or conditions may result in damage to the unit, resulting in an accident or injury. In addition, rivets may not be fastened in cases not satisfying the required conditions.
-
Stem ejection The machine ejects broken Stem from the nosepiece (they cannot be ejected backward).
Be sure to check Stem ejection before inserting the next rivet for fastening. If the next fastening is performed without the ejection, the Stem may jam or the machine may be damaged. -
Collector bottle When using with ProSet XT2, be sure to attach the collector bottle. If you wish to remove the collector bottle for reasons such as to shorten the overall length of the tool due to interference with the surrounding area, attach the dedicated part included in the adaptor kit. For details, please refer to the instruction manual of the adaptor kit.
If the tool is used without attaching either of the above, it may not operate properly and may fail to eject the broken Stem.
P1. Safety Precautions contains important information to prevent accidents from occurring. Be sure to read these precautions carefully before using to ensure proper and safe use.
6. How to Use
7. Maintenance and Inspection
(Table 7-1)
Cleaning and greasing of the jaw and other tip parts, replacement of each part
After disassembling the tip parts, clean and grease them or replace the parts
by referring to the
procedure on page 9 and page 10.
Refer to the instruction manual of the tool to be installed for the method of
greasing the jaw.
Cleaning of nose housing The inside of the nose housing must be cleaned as well as the tip parts. If metal powder, etc. accumulates inside the nose housing, the jaw will not be able to open fully and rivets cannot be attached. (Figure 7-1) Also, rivets with special surface treatment (e.g., GEOMET) require more frequent maintenance.
*Tightening torque for the jaw case should not exceed 15 Nm.
Warning
Always wear protective glasses when blowing compressed air.
Metal powder may scatter and cause injury (e.g., blindness).
8. Troubleshooting
(If the problem is not corrected after checking the information in this document, please contact the dealer or our company for repair.)
9. Options
9-1. Adaptor kit
This kit is used to attach PCH-M to each tool.
Please read the instruction manual that comes with the kit before use.
10. Parts List
11. Consumable Parts List
The durability of consumable parts varies greatly depending on the rivets used, the environment in which they are used, and whether or not they are properly maintained. The durability values below are only guide values and are not guaranteed. Please use them as a reference when preparing spare parts.
