ComfortCloud Heating Pad Troubleshooting Guide
B07MDYQQGT ComfortCloud Heating Pad
The clay bead heating pads are very heavy.
Answer:
These are “weighted” heating pads. The large blue pad weighs 5 pounds 11
ounces. A single unit of the 2-piece heating pads weighs about 2 lbs 11 oz.
The neck wraps weight about 4 lbs.
These heating pads are very large.
Answer:
The large blue pad is 13 inches wide x 22 inches long.
A single piece of the 2-piece wraps is 7 inches wide x 24 inches long.
The neck wrap is 14 inches wide at the neck (the widest point) and the “arms”
are 14.5 inches long. The back of the neck width is 7 inches.
The heat doesn’t last as long as I expected.
Answer:
Depending on how hot you have it to start, these heating pads will stay hot
for about 20 to 25 minutes. Remember that your body will adjust to the heat
and not feel so warm, but you can test the warmth by placing your hand under
the pad. We are getting feedback from customers that the pads stay hot for 30
to 40 minutes.
The microwave heating times are variable.
Answer:
Please follow the directions on the box. For the large blue pad, start with 1
min 30 sec on high with a 1000-watt microwave oven, refold the wrap and
repeat. If your microwave oven is more powerful than 1000 watts, use medium-
high heat. Continue to refold the wrap and heat in 30 second intervals until
the wrap is hot enough to suit you.
For a single piece of the teal wraps or the neck wraps, start with 1 min 30
sec on high in a 1000-watt microwave, refold the wrap and heat in 20 sec
intervals until the wrap is hot enough to suit you.
It is possible to melt the cover if you overheat the pad. This happens when
the hot spots in the microwave hit the same spot on the wrap for an extended
period of time. We have found that if the heating time is limited to 1 min 30
sec between refolding the wrap, melting of the fabric in the microwave can be
eliminated.
I don’t know how to store the clay bead heating pad.
Answer:
If you generally use the heating pad as a hot compress, store it in a paper
bag at room temperature. It will absorb moisture from the room air and be
ready to provide moist heat whenever you need it. Be aware that the clay beads
will absorb odors from their surroundings. So, be sure to store the pad(s) in
an odor-free location. If you generally use the pad as a cold compress, store
it in a sealed plastic bag in the freezer. The plastic bag will prevent the
absorption of food odors from the freezer.
I am worried about possible lead content.
Answer:
The clay beads have been tested for and are negative for any lead content.
I need an extra cover for body wrap.
Answer:
Yes, extra covers for the large (13×22”) blue pad are available on Amazon.com.

We do not have replacement covers for the other clay bead wraps.
Can you lay on the large blue pad?
Answer:
Absolutely. There are no heating cables to crimp or break, so there is no
danger from laying on the pad. Just be sure to cover it with a towel to avoid
accidentally burning your skin. Customers have reported that it does a great
job warming the bed. Then by resting on top of it, your own body heat keeps it
warm for an extended time.
My heating pad is wet when I remove it from the microwave.
Answer:
The clay beads naturally absorb moisture from the air when the heating pad is
at room temperature. When the beads are heated in the microwave, that moisture
is driven out of the clay beads for a moist heat therapy treatment. That
provides the moisture and the weight of the clay beads help that moist heat to
penetrate deep into the muscles. Some customers living in arid areas enhance
the moisture by adding a light spray of water over the cover before heating.
Do not actually pour water on or wash the pad. Free water will cause the beads
to melt.
My microwave is too small to fit this product.
Answer:
The large blue pad will fold easily to the size of full-size dinner plate.
However, it weighs just over 5 pounds. So, if you have a “small” microwave,
you might want to turn the turntable OFF. If you turn the turntable off, be
especially careful to heat the pad in two cycles. About halfway through the
full 3minute heating cycle, take the pad out and refold it in a different way
to avoid damage from “hot spots” in the microwave.
Customers report successful use of this large pad with no damage to their
small microwave ovens.
My heating pad cover is dirty.
Answer:
The cover on these wraps can only be cleaned with a damp cloth. If you want to
sanitize them, you can add a light spray to the cover but be aware that the
clay beads may absorb the odor of anything applied to the cover. Do NOT wet
the wrap. These are filled with unsealed clay beads so that they will provide
moist heat. Therefore, the beads may melt if they are wetted.
My heating pad has an odor.
Answer:
These clay bead heating pads are unscented – no fragrance is added. And the
beads themselves have no odor when heated. However, be aware that the beads
will absorb local odors. So, be careful where you store them in your home.
I want to add essential oils to the heating pad.
Answer:
Yes, you can certainly add your own essential oils. I would suggest adding it
to the inner liner instead of the washable cover – assuming you are sure
that’s the oil you want to use. Alternatively, you could add it to the outer
cover which is washable. In that case, I don’t know how much the beads would
absorb.
I don’t have a microwave.
Answer:
Several of our customers have reported good success with storing these heating
pads in the towel cabi for ready use.
I need to use this pad as a cold pack.
Answer:
Just place it in the freezer for several hours before use. We recommend
putting the wrap in a plastic bag in the freezer to avoid it picking up any
food odors.
