Product Usage Instructions

Product Installation

There are two ways to install your switch, please select one that suits you.

Desktop Installation

  1. Install the switch on a level surface that can support the weight of the unit and the relevant components, and attach the rubber feet to the bottom. The rubber feet cushion the switch and help protect the case from scratches.
  2. Plug the switch into an electrical source with the provided power cord.

Rack-Mount Installation

Rack mounting allows for a more orderly installation when a series of network devices is being installed.

  1. Disconnect all the cables from the switch.
  2. Place the unit the right way up on a hard, flat surface with the front facing you.
  3. Position a mounting bracket over the mounting holes on one side of the unit.
  4. Insert the screws and fully tighten with a suitable screwdriver.
  5. Repeat the two previous steps for the other side of the unit.
  6. Insert the unit into the rack and secure with suitable screws.
  7. Reconnect all the cables.

Regarding the installation environment, we strongly recommend:

  1. The switch should be placed in an appropriately ventilated environment. A minimum 25 mm space around the unit is recommended.
  2. The switch and the relevant components should be kept away from sources of electrical noise such as radios, transmitters, and broadband amplifiers.
  3. Avoid environments with higher than recommended moisture levels.

FAQ

Troubleshooting

  1. 1. Power LED is not lit

Check if the power cord is properly connected to the plug and the power outlet; make sure the power cord is firmly plugged into the power socket of the switch.

LINK/ACT LED is not lit when connected to devices

Make sure the network device attached to the switch is turned on. Make sure the network cable is properly connected to the switch and the device.

  2. LINK/ACT LED is not lit when connected to devices

    • Make sure the network device attached to the switch is turned on.
    • Make sure the network cable is properly connected to the switch and the network device.
    • Make sure the network cable is a UTP cable that complies with EIA/TIA 568 and Category 5 specifications.

Contact your dealer if problems persist.
