Krups Inissia XN1001 Nespresso Capsule Coffee Machine
Nespresso, an exclusive system creating the perfect Espresso, time after time.
All machines are equipped with a unique extraction system that guarantees up to 19 Bar pressure. Each parameter has been calculated with great precision to ensure that all the aromas from each Grand Cru can be extracted, to give the coffee body and create an exceptionally thick and smooth crema.

- Replace water in the water tank when the appliance is not operated during a weekend or a similar period of time.
- Do not use the appliance without the drip tray and drip grid to avoid spilling any liquid on surrounding surfaces.
- Do not use any strong cleaning agent or solvent cleaner.
- Use a damp cloth and mild cleaning agent to clean the surface of the appliance.
- Do not use a steam or pressure cleaner to clean the appliance; this may damage the appliance to the point of creating a life-threatening hazard.

- When unpacking the machine, remove the plastic film on the drip grid and dispose.

Short cord instructions
- A short power supply cord or detachable power supply cord is to be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
- Longer detachable power supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
- If a long detachable power supply cord or extension cord is used:
- The marked electrical rating of the detachable power supply cord or extension should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance,
- If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding type 3-wire cord; and
- The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
- The appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
- To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way.
- If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug.

- Nespresso descaling agent, when used correctly, helps to ensure the proper functioning of your machine over its lifetime and that your coffee experience is as perfect as on the first day. PACKAGING CONTENT
ENERGY SAVING MODE
This machine is equipped with an energy saving feature. The machine will automatically enter Power Off mode after 9 minutes
To turn the machine on, either press the Espresso or Lungo buttons.
To turn the machine off before automatic Power Off mode, press both the Espresso and Lungo buttons simultaneously.
To change this setting:

1. With machine turned off, press and hold the Espresso button for 3 seconds.

3. To change this setting press the Espresso button:
- One time for Power Off mode after 9 minutes
- One more time for Power Off mode after 30 minutes.

2. The Espresso button will blink to indicate the current setting.

4. To exit the energy saving mode, press the Lungo button for 3 seconds.
FIRST USE OR AFTER A LONG PERIOD OF NON-USE
CAUTION : first read the Important Safeguards to avoid risks of fatal electrical discharge or fire.

Rinse the water tank before filling with fresh, drinking water.
-
Place a container (minimum 1 L / 34 oz) under coffee outlet.
-
Plug into power outlet.
-
Press the Espresso or Lungo button to activate the machine.
-
Blinking lights: heating up (25 seconds).
-
Press the Lungo button to rinse the machine. Repeat 3 times.
Coffee Preparation

Rinse the water tank and fill it with drinkable water.
-
Press the Espresso or Lungo button to activate the machine.
-
Blinking lights: heating up (25 seconds).
-
Lift the lever completely and insert a Nespresso capsule.
-
Close the lever and place a cup under the coffee outlet.
-
Press the Espresso (40 ml / 1.35 oz) or the Lungo (110 ml / 3.7 oz) button to start. Preparation will stop automatically. To stop the coffee flow manually or add more coffee, press again.

Remove the cup. Lift and close the lever to eject the capsule into the used capsule container.
Caution: never lift lever during operation and refer to the important safeguards to avoid possible harm when operating the appliance.
Note: during heat up, you can press either coffee buttons while blinking. The coffee will then flow automatically when the machine is ready.
PROGRAMMING THE WATER VOLUME

Turn the machine on and wait for it to be in ready mode (steady lights).

Fill the water tank with fresh, drinkable water and insert a Nespresso capsule

Place a cup under the coffee outlet.

Press and hold the Espresso or Lungo button
-
Release button once the desired volume is served.

Water volume level is now stored.
EMPTYING THE SYSTEM BEFORE A PERIOD OF NON-USE AND FOR FROST PROTE CTION, OR BEFORE A REPAIR

To enter the emptying mode, press both the Espresso and Lungo buttons to turn the machine off.

Remove the water tank and open the lever
-
Press both the Espresso and Lungo buttons for 3 seconds.

Both LEDs blink alternately.
-
Close the lever.
-
The machine switches off automatically.
-
Empty and clean the used capsule container and drip tray.
RESET TO FACTO RY SETT INGS

With the machine turned off, press and hold down the Lungo button for 5 seconds
-
LEDS will blink fast 3 times to confirm the machine has been reset to factory settings.

Then, the LEDs will continue to blink normally.
Factory settings
- Espresso Cup : 40 ml / 1.35 oz
- Lungo Cup: 110 ml / 3.7 oz
- Power Off mode: 9 minutes
Descaling
Note: duration is approximately 15 minutes.

Remove the capsule and close the lever.
-
Empty the drip tray and used capsule container.
-
Fill the water tank with 0.5 L /17 oz of drinkable water and add 1 packet of Nespresso descaling liquid.
-
Place a container (minimum volume 1 L/34 oz) under the coffee outlet.
-
To enter descaling mode, press both the Espresso and Lungo buttons for 3 seconds while the machine is being turned on.

Both LEDs blink.
-
Press and release the Lungo button, then wait until the water tank is empty.
-
Refill the water tank with the used descaling solution collected in the container and repeat steps 4 and 6.
-
Empty and rinse the water tank. Fill with drinkable water.
-
When ready, repeat steps 4 and 6 to now rinse the machine. Repeat twice.
-
To exit the descaling mode, press both the Espresso and Lungo buttons for 3 seconds.
-
Blinking lights: heating up (25 seconds).
-
The machine is now ready for use.
CAUTION : the descaling solution can be harmful. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and surfaces. Never use any product other than the Nespresso descaling kit available at the Nespresso Club to avoid damage to your machine. Be careful not to use other products (vinegar type) that leave a taste to coffee. The following table will indicate the descaling frequency required for the optimum performance of your machine, based on water hardness. For any additional questions you may have regarding descaling, please contact your Nespresso Club.

LIMITED WARRANTY
Nespresso warrants this professional product against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 1 year. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase and Nespresso requires the presentation of the original proof of purchase to ascertain the date. During the warranty period, Nespresso will either repair or replace, at its discretion, any defective product at no charge to the owner. Replacement products or repaired parts will be warranted only for the unexpired portion of the original warranty or six months, whichever is greater. This limited warranty does not apply to any defect resulting from negligence, accident, misuse, or any other reason beyond Nespresso’s reasonable control, including but not limited to normal wear and tear, negligence or failure to follow the product instructions, improper or inadequate maintenance, calcium deposits or descaling, connection to improper power supply, unauthorized product modification or repair, use for commercial purposes, fire, lightning, flood or other external causes.
