Cordless Rechargeable Tyre Inflator
With Digital Power Source
Thank you for purchasing the Michelin Tyre Inflator. This inflator utilises
some of the latest compressor motor technology currently available today.
Please read the operating instructions carefully before using your tyre
inflator. Improper use of the inflator can cause damage to property and
possibly harm the user. When using the inflator ensure the vehicle is parked
in a safe location, off the road with the vehicle handbrake on and where your
personal safety is not at risk.
Only suitable for vehicles with a negative earth. Check your vehicle owner’s
manual.
- This inflator can inflate car tyres up to 40 PSI (do not inflate space saver tyres) and bicycle tyres up to 120 PSI. Higher pressures can be achieved in cycle tyres due to their smaller air volumes compared to car tyres.
- When inflating vehicle tyres this inflator should ONLY be used for car tyres and bicycle tyres. Low pressure items such as sports balls and small inflatable toys may also be inflated using the adaptors provided.
WARNING! COMPRESSED AIR CAN BE DANGEROUS
- Never allow children to use this tyre inflator.
- Never leave unattended when running.
- Never over inflate.
- Always use in a safe area away from traffic and other dangers.
- Never run for more than 10 minutes. After each 10 minute run allow inflator to cool for 10 minutes.
WARNING! ENSURE CORRECT TYRE PRESSURES
-
Correct tyre pressure is vital for road safety.
-
Under or over inflated tyres can be dangerous.
-
Always ensure that regular weekly checks are carried out to the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended pressures including the spare, but excluding space saver tyres. Check always before a long journey or after loading or unloading vehicle.
-
Always check pressures in an ambient temperature, never immediately after a long journey.
CAUTION -
Inspect tyre inflator before each use.
-
Do not leave connected to 12v DC socket unattended.
-
Do not kink or block the air hose while the compressor is working.
-
Do not use the compressor if bent, broken, melted, burnt, wet or any of the components are damaged.
-
Only use the adaptors supplied with the device.
-
The compressor contains no user serviceable parts — Do not open.

DIGITAL POWER SOURCE (D.P.S) FEATURES
This Michelin tyre inflator incorporates twin 12v power sockets & twin 5v
USB ports.

is suitable for accessories, such as inspection light or vacuum cleaner with a
maximum rating of 12 amps.
USB PORT
Under the right hand cover is a twin 5v USB port suitable for charging mobile
phones/MP3 players with a maximum rating of 1 amp.
Your Michelin Rechargeable Inflator contains a 12v battery to give you
complete portability of use.
Before use it is recommended you fully charge the battery.
TO CHARGE THE BATTERY:
- Remove the mains adaptor (11) from the right hand recess in the inflator & unwind the charge lead.
- Plug the charge lead into the charging socket (5) on the front panel of the inflator.
- Plug the mains adaptor (11) into a mains voltage wall socket.
- The inflator can be recharged without the battery switch (11) being in the On “I” position, however no charge status indicator LED’s (4) will be illuminated.
- If you want to see the charge status indicator LED;s (4) illuminated, please switch the battery switch (11) to “I”.
- The 3 Coloured Indicator LED’s (4) show the status of the battery: Green/Yellow/Red = Fully Charged. Yellow/Red = 50% Charged. Red = Low Charge. Flashing Red = Recharge Battery.
- When charging the LED status will be: Low Battery: Red Flashing. 50% Charged: Red & Yellow Flashing. Fully Charged: Red/Yellow/Green Constant.
- Once fully charged you can leave the adaptor plugged in to maintain a trickle charge.
- If you don’t want to leave your inflator on charge please make sure that you do re-charge it every 3 months to avoid fully draining the battery.
- It is recommended to switch the battery switch (11) to the Off position to conserve the battery life.
NOTE: To use the 12v sockets / USB ports the battery switch must be in
the On position.
TYRE INFLATION:
- Make sure the On/Off button (1) is in the Off position (out from panel).
- Switch battery switch (11) to On position, “I. Wait a few seconds until display shows zero.
- To choose the pressure format, PSI, BAR or kPa press the yellow button (10). Each press of the button cycles through the pressure format.
- Uncoil the high pressure hose and screw the tyre valve connector (7) onto the tyre valve. Check the tyre pressure shown on the display. If the display reads 0.00 or Err then refer to the Trouble Shooting guide. When connected correctly the gauge will display the current pressure in the tyre. If this is the pressure as stated in your vehicle’s handbook, you can simply remove the tyre valve connector (7).
- A fully charged battery will give approximately 10 inflations from 0 — 30 PSI, however the 3 LED indicator lights will show the state of charge whilst inflating (as per point 6 below), if the red LED starts to flash you will need to stop inflation & recharge the battery.
- If you are inflating multiple tyres then follow the procedure stated from 3 to 4 above. If the battery switch (11) is inadvertently switched off then always switch on before connecting the high pressure hose to the tyre valve. If there is a power interruption during the inflation cycle, please follow the reset procedure outlined in the Trouble Shooting guide.
Inflator Protection
The inflator has fuse protection which is located on the right hand side next
to the mains adaptor holder (11). If the inflator is overloaded it could cause
the fuse to blow, replace with a suitable 15 amp blade fuse.
ADAPTORS
Included with your Michelin Cordless Rechargeable Tyre Inflator, on the back of the unit, is a snap-in storage compartment containing various adaptors, to enable you to inflate other items. To avoid over-inflation, always follow manufacturer’s instructions on the items to be inflated.
