Product Usage Instructions
Start-Up Instructions:
- Insert the power head into the air intake of the main unit.
- Before charging, make sure both switches are in the OFF position.
- Insert the adapter into an electrical outlet and the plug into the charging socket on the unit.
- Charge batteries for 16 hours before initial use.
Charging the Unit:
Do not allow the battery to run down completely before charging. Running
down battery will cause battery life to shorten severely.
Vacuuming:
Push the slide switch forward on the stick handle to clean hard floor or
carpet. FLOOR – uses suction only for vacuuming hard floors. CARPET – uses
suction and engages brush roll to vacuum.
Combining/Detaching Hand Vac:
To remove the hand held unit, push the release button and pull the hand
held unit outward. To replace the hand held unit, insert the air intake of the
hand held unit into the main housing (at the base of the unit). Push the hand
held unit back against the back of the main unit housing until the unit clicks
into place.
Emptying the Dirt Cup:
Press the release button and remove the dirt cup from cleaner.
Cleaning the Dust Filter:
- Empty dirt cup.
- Remove the filter frame from the dust filter.
- Wash the filter in warm soapy water, using a soft brush if necessary.
- Dry the filter completely before replacing it into the filter frame and dirt cup.
Replacing the Dust Filter:
Replace the dust filter on the filter frame and insert it into the dirt
cup.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be

WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
- Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Do not charge the unit outdoors.
- Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
- Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
- Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center for inspection.
- Do not abuse the cord. Never carry the charger or base by the cord or yank to disconnect from an outlet; instead grasp the charger and pull to disconnect. Keep cord away from heated surfaces. Do not pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not close door on the charger cord.
- Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
- This product includes rechargeable nickel cadmium batteries. Do not incinerate batteries or expose to high temperatures, as they may explode.
- Unplug the charger from the outlet before any routine cleaning or maintenance.
- Do not put any object into openings.
- Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all other body parts away from openings and moving parts.
- Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
- Do not use without filters in place.
- Turn off all controls before unplugging.
- Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
- Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
- Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If the liquid, which is 20-35% solution of potassium hydroxide, gets on the skin (1) wash quickly with soap and water or (2) neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar. If the liquid gets into the eyes, flush immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes. Seek medical attention.
- Use only the charger supplied by the manufacturer to recharge.

Warranty
- ORECK MANUFACTURING COMPANY: (ORECK gives you the following limited warranty for this product only if it was originally purchased for use, not resale, from ORECK or an ORECK Authorized Retail Dealer.)
- ORECK will repair or replace, free of charge, to the original purchaser, any part which is found to be defective in material or workmanship within one (1) year of the date of purchase. This limited warranty applies to normal domestic use. Any commercial use of this product will void this limited warranty.
- This limited warranty does not cover the replacement of expendable or consumable parts such as belts, brushes, bulbs, dirt filters, batteries and other parts subject to normal wear.
- This limited warranty does not apply to any part subjected to accident, abuse, commercial use, alteration, misuse, damage caused by fire or act of God, the use of voltages other than indicated on the serial number plate of this product or service of this product by other than ORECK or an ORECK Factory Authorized Service Center.
- ORECK does not authorize any person or representative to assume or grant any other warranty obligation with the sale of this product.
- ORECK’s limited warranty is valid only if you retain proof of purchase from ORECK or an ORECK Authorized Retail Dealer for this product. If you purchase this product from any other source, your purchase is “AS IS,” which means ORECK grants you no warranty, and that you, not ORECK, assume the entire risk of the quality and performance of this product, including the entire cost of any necessary servicing or repairs of any defects.
- ORECK’s liability for damages to you for any costs whatsoever arising out of this statement of limited warranty shall be limited to the amount paid for this product at the time of original purchase, and ORECK shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, consequential or incidental damages arising out of the use or inability to use this product.

Charging the Unit
- Fig 2. Before charging, make sure both switches are in the “OFF” position. Then insert the adapter into an electrical outlet and the plug into the charging socket on the unit. Charge batteries for 16 hours before initial use.
- Caution: Do not allow the battery to run down completely before charging. Running down battery will cause battery life to shorten severely.
- Fig 3. A red lamp indicates the unit is charging. It is normal for the adapter to feel warm while the battery is charging.
- Recharge the unit as soon as the motor power decreases noticeably. The unit can be on a constant charge so it is always ready for use. However, if the unit will not be used for several weeks at a time, unplugging it is recommended.
Vacuuming
- Fig 4. Push the slide switch forward on the stick handle to clean hard floor or carpet.
- FLOOR – uses suction only for vacuuming hard floors.
- CARPET – uses suction and engages brush roll to vacuum

- Fig. 8 Remove the dust filter from the dirt cup.
Cleaning the Dust Filter
- Fig. 9 Empty dirt cup.
- Fig. 10 Remove the filter frame from the dust filter.
- Fig. 11 Wash the filter in warm soapy water, using a soft brush if necessary. Dry the filter completely before replacing it into the filter frame and dirt cup.
- Replace the dust filter on the filter frame and insert into dirt cup.
- Replace dirt cup onto handheld vacuum.
Power Brush
- Important: Disconnect cleaner from electrical outlet.
- F ig. 12 To maintain cleaning effectiveness, regularly remove hair, lint, strings, threads, etc. from the brush roll with a knife or scissors.
Storing the Vacuum
Fig. 13 Press the handle control button and bend the handle down for easy
storage.
Troubleshooting Guide
P ROBLEM **A REAS TO C HECK**
- What happens if the red charging indicator is not lit while charging?
- Suction power is not sufficient.
- Running time is not sufficient.
- Machine does not stop when switched off.
- Brush does not work while operating.
- Hand held unit works, but the stick broom does not.

Make sure the adapter plug and socket are plugged in properly.

Both the hand held unit and the stick broom need to be turned off while charging.

Take the hand held unit off and locate the three (3) silver prongs on the bottom of the unit. Make sure the contacts are clean and free of debris.

Replacement Dust Filter QSFILTER
Discarding the Vacuum
Remove the batteries by cutting the connector wires one by one before you
discard the appliance. Do not dispose of batteries with your regular household
trash. Dispose of them in an environmentally safe manner.

- To preserve natural resources, please recycle or dispose of expired battery pack properly.
