Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the USB 3.0 Sharing Switch 2:4. This product has been designed to provide trouble free, reliable operation. It benefits from both a LINDY 2 year warranty and free lifetime technical support. To ensure correct use, please read this manual carefully and retain it for future reference.

The Lindy USB 3.0 Sharing Switch 2:4 allows up to 2 users to share up to 4 USB 3.0 peripheral devices without the need to repeatedly swap cables or set up complicated network sharing software. The active computer port can be selected by push button. The switch is ideal for sharing a printer, storage device or webcam in office environments. It also allows to share a conference room presentation system like Barco Clickshare between two users. The USB 3.0 Sharing Switch features a 3.5mm Audio output port for connecting speakers or headphones.

The USB 3.0 Sharing Switch is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices and supports all USB Type A equipped computers – perfect for use with multiple PCs or Macs. The Sharing Switch features a USB Type C socket for an optional power supply (not included).

Installation & Operation

DC5V Connect to a 5VDC 1A – 5A Power Supply (optional, PSU not included)
HOST 1 Connect to a computer
HOST 2 Connect to a computer

Connect a headphone or speaker
DEVICES Connect up to four USB Type A peripheral devices

Connect the USB 3.0 Sharing Switch to your host computers with the included two 1.2m USB 5Gbps Type A cables (Male/Male).
Then connect the USB 3.0 Sharing Switch to up to four USB peripheral devices.
A speaker or headphones can be connected to the 3.5mm Audio output port.
Power up your computers and the peripheral devices. The device will now be ready to switch between computers.
Connect a USB Type C power supply (not included) to the USB Type C socket of the switch if more power is needed.
To switch peripheral devices between computers simply press the button on top of the USB 3.0 Sharing Switch.
The LED colour of the button of the USB Switch will indicate which computer is currently accessing the peripheral devices: Red colour is Host 1, blue colour ist Host 2.

Please note:

The maximum cable length between the USB 3.0 Sharing Switch and peripheral devices or the Switch and a computer is 2m.
Do not switch to a computer that is in the process of booting.
Computers must be “awake” before it is possible to switch to them.
Before switching ensure that the attached USB device is not in use - read/writing discs, printing etc.
