Use the below guide as a reference to using the different blending speeds :

Speed Preparations Notes
Ice Crusher (b3) Crushed ice For finely crushed ice, use 12 to 18 large ice

cubes (3/4 liter or 3 cups) at a time. For more coarsely crushed ice, use only 6 to 8 large ice cubes (1 cup) at a time.
14| Various soups| Place all the ingredients (raw or cooked) in the bowl, without exceeding 1.5 liters (50 oz.). Blend for around 1 minute.
14| Fresh fruit

cocktails

| Peel the fruit and remove

stones and large pits. Cut the fruit into large pieces. Place all the ingredients in the glass jar and blend until the mixture is even (approx. 1 minute).

---|---|---
Cocktails with alcohol| Place all the ingredients in the glass jar (liquid ingredients first) and blend for 1 minute.
7 to 10| Tomato purées and sauces| Place all the ingredients in the glass jar (liquid ingredients first). Ensure that the ingre- dients cover the blades, to limit spattering.
Cooked vegetable purées| Insert the vegetables and a lit- tle cooking stock. If the ingre- dients are dense, first use the “Vari Pulse“ function briefly. It is not recommended to use the blender to make mashed potatoes.
Vegetable stuffing| Place all the ingredients in the glass jar (liquid ingredients first). Start by using the

“Vari Pulse“ function briefly if the mixture is thick.

Parmesan and hard cheeses| Slice the cheese into large cubes and blend until you obtain the desired consistency. Start by first using the “Vari Pulse“ function briefly for a first coarse chop.
Cooked fruit compotes and fresh fruit sauces| Place all the ingredients in the bowl. Ensure that the ingredients cover the blades, to limit spattering.
5 to 7| Batter for panca- kes, waffles, doughnuts, cla- foutis etc.| Place all the ingredients in the glass jar, ending with the flour, which can be added either all at once or gradually through the filler hole in the lid. Do not exceed 1.5 liters (50 oz.) at one time.
Spreads and salad dressings using soft white cheese or yogurt.| Begin by coarsely chopping the hard ingredients and herbs first using the “Vari Pulse“ function briefly, and then add the cheese or yogurt.
Milkshakes with fruit (raspberries, bananas, mangos etc.)| Place all the ingredients in the glass jar. Using 1/2 liter (2 cups) of cold milk provides good results. Because it increases in volume, the maximum quantity of milk is 1 liter (4 cups).
5 to 7| Onions, shallots etc.| Cut them into 4 and first use the “Vari Pulse“ function briefly. Maximum quantity: 300 g (10 oz.).
---|---|---
Walnuts, hazel- nuts, almonds| Place the nuts in the glass jar and first use the “Vari Pulse“ function briefly. To finish, switch to constant speed to chop more finely. For best results, prepare quantities from 50 g to 100 g (4 oz.) maximum.
Crackers, cookies, dry bread, melba toast| Cut the ingredients into large pieces. Place them in the glass jar and use the “Vari Pulse“ function briefly. For a finer consistency, finish with a few seconds at constant speed. For best results, prepare quantities from 40 g to 50g (2 oz.).
Guacamole| Place all the ingredients in the glass jar (liquid ingredients first) and first use the “Vari Pulse“ function briefly. You can finish with a few seconds at constant speed, to make the mixture more even.
3 to 5| Milkshakes with coffee, chocolate, vanilla etc.| Place all the ingredients in the glass jar . Best results are obtained with 1/2 liter (2 cups) of milk. Do not exceed 1 liter (4 cups) of milk, because its volume increases.
Whipped cream| Use at least 0.25 liters (1 cup) of cream, in order to cover the blades and avoid spattering.
1 to 3| Deep-frozen fruit juice| Place the block of deep-frozen fruit juice in the glass jar with the recommended quantity of water. Mix for a few seconds. Do not mix for too long, in order to avoid the formation of bubbles.
Instant prepara- tions for diets, desserts etc., powdered milk| Place all the ingredients in the glass jar and blend for 10 to 15 seconds to make the mixture even. To limit the formation of bubbles, first use the “Vari Pulse“ function.
1 to 3| Vinaigrette| Begin by chopping the hard ingredients and herbs first using the “Vari Pulse“ function, then add the remaining ingredients and blend at a constant speed for 15 to 20 seconds. Ensure that the ingredients cover the blade (approx. 250 ml / 1 cup), in order to avoid spattering.
