Product Usage Instructions

To control a dimmable driver using the PDM020 Dimmer:

  1. Connect the AC terminals of the PDM020 to the switched mains load.
  2. Connect the dimmable driver’s L1 and N terminals to the corresponding terminals on the PDM020.
  3. Connect the dimmable driver’s LOAD terminals to the load that needs to be controlled.
  4. To turn on/off the dimmable driver, press the dimmer shaft of the PDM020.
  5. To dim the connected load, rotate the dimmer shaft of the PDM020.

To control a dimmable driver and switch its live input using the PDM020 Dimmer:

  1. Connect the AC terminals of the PDM020 to the switched mains load.
  2. Connect the dimmable driver’s L1 and N terminals to the corresponding terminals on the PDM020.
  3. Connect the dimmable driver’s LOAD terminals to the load that needs to be controlled.
  4. Connect the dimmable driver’s L2 and C terminals to the live input terminals of the PDM020.
  5. To turn on/off the dimmable driver, press the dimmer shaft of the PDM020.
  6. To dim the connected load, rotate the dimmer shaft of the PDM020.

To control a dimmable driver, switch its live input, and use an additional two-way switch with the PDM020 Dimmer:

  1. Connect the AC terminals of the PDM020 to the switched mains load.
  2. Connect the dimmable driver’s L1 and N terminals to the corresponding terminals on the PDM020.
  3. Connect the dimmable driver’s LOAD terminals to the load that needs to be controlled.
  4. Connect the dimmable driver’s L2 and C terminals to the live input terminals of the PDM020.
  5. Connect the additional two-way switch as shown in the wiring diagram.
  6. To turn on/off the dimmable driver, press the dimmer shaft of the PDM020 or use the two-way switch.
  7. To dim the connected load, rotate the dimmer shaft of the PDM020.

  • Q: Can I use the product for outdoor installations?
    A: No, the product is suitable for indoor use only.

  • Q: What is the maximum load that this product can handle?
    A: The maximum load is 1000W.

  • Q: Can I install this product myself?
    A: This device must be installed by a qualified and experienced electrician by applicable current electrical regulations.

  • Q: Are there any user-serviceable parts inside the product?
    A: No, there are no user-serviceable parts inside the product. Do not attempt to open or repair it.

  • Q: What should I do if I encounter a hazardous voltage?
    A: Lock out and tag the input circuit before accessing the wiring connections. Always follow proper safety procedures and regulations.

  • Q: Can I exceed the electrical rated loads and limits of the product?
    A: No, electrical rated loads and limits of the product should NEVER be exceeded at any time. Always isolate the electricity supply at its source before any installation or maintenance.

INSTRUCTION

  • Push on, push off, rotary dimming control switch
  • Dimming range: 1-100%
  • Only for use with suitable SELV dimmable LED Driver or 1 – 10V dimmable Ballast
  • One or two-way switching

PLEASE NOTE: These operating Voltage & Max Load values are about a switched mains load across the AC terminals only.

Applications

  • Dimming of Constant Current LEDs when used in conjunction with a suitable SELV LED Driver or dimmable ballast.
  • Dimmable Ballasts requiring a 1 – 10V control input.

Please Note This Dimmer Swich CAN NOT be used for:

  • Mains Voltage GLS or Halogen lamps.
  • Electronic & Wire Wound low Voltage lighting transformers.
  • Fans.
  • Any electronic control gear that does not require a 1 – 10V control input

On Off & Dimming Function:
The dimmer switch is activated by pressing the dimmer shaft only, dimming function by rotating the dimmer shaft only.
