Product Usage Instructions

Plug and Play

No extra power and driver program is required for this external CD/DVD drive. Simply connect it to your computer’s USB port.

Data Cable Location

The data cable is located on the back of the CD/DVD drive. Its length is approximately 25 cm/9.8 inches.

Ejecting Disc

If the disc cannot be ejected when you click the eject button, you can use a needle to poke the forced eject hole. This will cause the optical drive tray to eject.

Region Change

The disc can only be played when the region code of the CD drive matches the CD. The region code of the DVD drive can only be set 5 times (including the original setting). When changing the code for the fifth time, it will be permanently set to the last code you set.

USB Driver Installation

Some computers may not automatically install the USB driver. In such cases, you can follow these steps:

1. Open “This PC” or “My Computer”.
2. Right-click and select “Manage”.
3. In the “Computer Management” window, click on “Device Manager”.
4. Expand the “Disk Drives” category. Click on “Search” to let the computer search for USB devices.

Troubleshooting USB Port

If there is no response from the USB port, you can try inserting and unplugging the plug several times. Observe the prompts and install the USB driver accordingly.

Warm Tips

1. This is not a Blu-ray Drive and cannot play Blu-ray discs.
2. It does not support Chromebook and Ubuntu systems, TV, car, truck, iPad, iPhone, Android phones, Blu-ray, 3D, 4K discs.
3. Make sure your computer has an available media player (such as VideoLAN VLC player) or burning/ripping software before using the drive.
4. For Mac OS, use the Mac command to eject the disc. The DVD icon may not show up immediately until the drive successfully reads the disc.
5. For Windows 10 desktop, connect the device to the USB port of the motherboard for normal use.
6. When using with a laptop, keep the laptop charging to avoid low power issues that may result in failure to read the CD/DVD.
7. The internal laser light source may be harmful to the eyes, so avoid looking directly at it.
8. Avoid placing the machine near strong magnetic objects.
9. Data transfer speed may vary depending on the computer and system environments.

Region Change

Some computer does not automatically install USB driver, you could follow this step (This PC ‹ Manage < Device Manager ‹ Disk Drives < Search), and let the computer search for USB devices.

Instructions for use :

1. This product is a data line interface properly to USB port of the computer, the computer display lower corner should opera device icon.
2. Click on the desktop, open the “my computer”, in “the mobile storage device should display the drive icon”.
3. Click on this icon button, select the “pop” in the tray into the appropriate disk read.
4. Do not place the drive close to any magnetic object.
5. To ensure normal running, please place the drive on flat desktop, do not place the drive under any pressure.

Please Follow Below Troubleshooting:

• Q: Not recognized
  • A : This may be a case of poor connectivity. Please check whether the usb cable is correctly inserted into the computer. If your laptop could not recognize the external device, please first check the power supply, may the power supply is insufficient. Here, you need to fully charge your laptop first, or connect the power cord to ensure sufficient power supply. Or restart your laptop and try again.
  • If it is used with a desktop computer, use the USB port at the back of the computer chassis. If the computer cannot recognize the CD/DVD drive, we will help you fix it.
• Q: Recognition/ Reading speed is slow
  • A: The time for the computer of recognition is usually 10-25s, please don’t operate during identification. You need to wait for the optical drive to complete the recognition before it can work normally. The time for the computer to read the disc is about 20-60s(The recognition time will be longer when you use it for the first time. Please wait patiently)
• Q: Not work
  • A : If the light flashes, it means that the product is working normally. For specific use problems, please contact us to help you.
• Q: Unrecognized blank disc
  • A: If the normal discs can be played, the greatest possibility is that there is a problem with the disc. Please check that the disc is specially used for burning. because the burned disc also has format requirements. And please make sure your computer has available media software or burning software, such as VLC Media Player, Nero, etc.
• Q: Is it compatible with Chrome Book or ThinkPad?
  • A : The device will be compatible with Chrome Book, but you need to go to the chrome store web page, download the application VLC anddownload the chrome operating system driver. We recommend that you use an extemal power supply, otherwise power problems will occur.
• Q: Tips about burning
  • A : CD-R (recordable disc)disc can record music at one time and keep it permanently on the disc(such as commercially produced music CD). cd-rw(rewritable CD-RW)discs are suitable if you want to be able to write to a disc, then delete music and write to the same disc again.
