PREPARATION
The indicators must be mounted horizontally, the handlebar angle towards the
driver must not exceed 9°. Clean both inside of the handlebars up to a depth
of 70mm and degrease with ethanol.
For the cable exit, drill a 3mm diameter hole in the bottom of the middle of
the handlebar and carefully deburr it.
The mo.blaze is suitable for mounting on handlebars with an inner diameter
between 14 and 21mm. Use the following sketch to select the assembly elements
required for your handlebar.
Use the indicator marked “L” for the left side of the handlebar and the
indicator marked “R” for the right side of the handlebar. Route the turn
signal connection wires into handlebar and through the 3mm drilling to the
outside. Use a stiff piece of wire for this.
CONNECTION
The two connecting cables from indicator and vehicle will be not stripped. The
indicator plus cable of the vehicle and the red cable of the mo.blaze are
plugged into the supplied 3M cable connector and will be permanently
electrically connected by pressing down the orange cap. This is also done with
the second connection wire.
No tensile forces may act on the connection cable. Make sure the cable is long
enough. The connection cable must be protected from damage and wear in
stressed areas, especially at the handlebar wire outlet.
INSTALLATION
Tighten the M8 nut to widen the rubber sleeve so it comes into contact with
the inside of the handlebar when it is inserted. Slide the turn signal into
the handlebar. Turning the turn signal housing clockwise by hand will tighten
the rubber sleeve against the handlebar. Turn the indicator not more than 4
revolutions until a considerable force is required and the motogadget logo is
visible from above.
If the rubber sleeve does not tighten inside the handlebar: pull out the
indicator, rotate the connection cable back to its original position, increase
the rubber sleeve widening by tightening the M8 screw and repeat theprocess.
OPERATION
The indicators are properly installed and comply with the legal requirements
if the indicator marked “L” is on the left and the indicator marked “R” is on
the right and the motogadget logo is visible from above.
Test the turn signals for their function. If the fl ashing frequency has
changed, or if all 4 fl ashers light up, you need an electronic, load-
independent flashing relay (e.g. mo.fl ash, motogadget item number 4000010).
HINWEISE
The mo.blaze is only approved as a front direction indicator for motorcycles
in the EU. The approval mark is located on the turn signal housing. An entry
in the vehicle documents is not necessary. No papers have to be carried. When
doing electrical work on the vehicle, disconnect the battery and ensure that
the vehicle is in a safe position during installation.
If you are unsure about the correct installation or connection, hire a
specialist. Permanent attachment is only guaranteed through proper assembly.
Incorrect installation or alignment of the indicators can lead to accidents
and the expiry of the operating permit. Check and correct the correct
rotational alignment of the indicators by checking the brightness at a
distance of 10m. Damage to the cable insulation can lead to a short circuit
and a cable fi re, which may life-threatening.
The turn signal housing heats up during operation. Only operate the blinker in
mounted condition in blinking mode. Use incontinuous operation is not
permitted. The aluminum fastening thread is hollow and not suitable for
connecting structural components of the vehicle. The maximum tightening torque
is 4 Nm. The turn signal connection cable may be damaged if the housing will
be rotated more than 4 revolutions during installation. Clean the indicators
with soapy water only. The use of abrasive cleaning agents or steam jets is
not permitted. Contact with organic solvents such as alcohol, acetone,
gasoline, isopropanol will damage the optical lens.
The indicator is only suitable for 12V vehicle electrical systems with a
battery and a voltage regulator. Voltages over 18V or voltage peaks caused by
a defective regulator or battery lead to a defective indicator. The housing of
the turn signal must not be altered or opened. The event of mechanical damage
render all guarantee and warranty claims invalid. The use for applications
that do not correspond to the intended purpose render all guarantee and
warranty claims invalid. motogadget assumes no liability for direct or
indirect damage or consequential damage of any kind resulting from the use,
attachment or connection of the product or the accessories supplied. This
includes all personal injury, property damage and fi nancial damage. Defects
caused by incorrect assembly, overvoltage or cleaning are not covered by
guarantee or warranty.
