Getting Started
Before you start adding this Calex Smart product, write down the name and
password, including spaces and capital letters, of your WiFi network. Make
sure you have a strong WiFi signal.
Note: This item only works on 2.4GHz WiFi network, not on 5GHz WiFi network.
If you get a message that the product only works on 2.4 GHz networks, then you
need to change your network ‘s WiFi frequency to 2.4 GHz in the settings menu
of the router. Please contact your internet provider for this.
Installing the battery and the micro SD memory card (optional)
Open the battery compartment and insert the batteries as indicated inside the
compartment. Insert a MicroSD card (optional). Close the compartment
The device will power on automatically as soon as the batteries are installed.
Note: The camera will enter standby mode when it has been idle for more than
15 seconds.
Setting up the Calex Smart app & adding the doorbell

Download the Calex Smart app from the Google Play Store, the Apple Store or scan the QR code.

Open the app. Are you using the app for the first time? Then follow the instructions on the screen to create your account.

Click on “+” shown in the upper right corner or “Add Device” and select the device among the list of products.
Turn the device on. You do this by inserting the batteries. You will hear a sound the device is waiting for the QR code to be scanned. (The device is now in pairing mode.)
Input the WiFi password and click “Confirm”. Scan the QR Code that appears in the app with the camera of the device. Hold the QR code steady at 10-15 cm in front of the camera.
When the device makes a sound, follow the on-screen instructions. The set-up will be completed automatically. For more information, see our website: calex.eu -
Reset: You may need to reset the product first. Locate the reset button and press it in until you hear the prompt sound. The blue indicator LED will start blinking. Then proceed with step 3.
Setting up the chime unit & pairing chime to doorbell
Pairing: Plug-in the chime, press and hold button ② for 3 seconds until
the blue indicator lights up. Then ring the video doorbell, the indicator of
the chime flashes, which means that pairing was successful.
Change tones and pairing: Press button ① or ③ to cycle through the tones
and select the desired one. Press and hold button ② for 3 seconds until the
blue indicator lights up. Then ring the video doorbell, the indicator of the
chime flashes, which means that changing the tone was successful.
Change the volume: Press button ② to change the volume of the chime.
Unpairing: Hold and press ② then plug-in the chime, do not release the
button until the blue indicator lights up.
Installation of the the doorbell
Install the doorbell using the screws and plugs suitable for the intended
surface. Use the live preview on your phone to determine the best height and
location.
Charging: Connect the doorbell to an external power source via the
supplied charging cable. While charging, you can view the charging status in
the app. If you prefer to use a power adapter (adapter is not included), the
power adapter specification is 5V/1.5A .

This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children.
– Warning: this product includes lithium batteries.
– Only use 18650 type rechargeable batteries.
– Keep the batteries out of the reach of children.
– Never use old and new batteries or dierent types of batteries together.
Remove the batteries when not using the system for long periods of time.
Check the polarity (+/-) of the batteries when inserting them in the product.
Incorrect positioning may cause the risk of an explosion.
– The product’s operating and storage temperature range is between -10° C to
40° C.
Environments under and above this temperature might affect functionality.
– Only use the accessories which are packaged with the doorbell. Using third
party accessories can cause interference signal issues which can also cause
the product to work abnormally.
– Never open the product: the device may contain components with deadly
voltage.
– Repairs or service should only be performed by qualified personnel.
