TALKING TILES
Talking Tiles are high quality voice recorders that allow you to record and playback speech, music, and sound effects. Each Tile has a recording time of up to 80 seconds and a removable clear cover to add pictures, numbers, words or letters to match your recordings. Please read the following instructions carefully.
Features:
How to record a message
You can record using either a.) the built-in microphone or b.) the AUDIO-IN
socket.
See features diagram above to locate.
How to record using the microphone
Turn the tile upside down, place it on a flat surface and move the ON/OFF
switch to the ON position.
Move the REC/PLAY switch to the REC position. Press down on the base and the
red light will illuminate to indicate that recording has begun. Speak clearly
into the microphone and release the base when you have finished recording.
NOTE: Ensure the base is held down so that the red light remains on
whilst you are recording. You wi11 hear a ‘BEEP’ sound to indicate recording
has begun and then two ‘BEEPS’ to indicate recording has finished.
How to record using the AUDIO-IN socket
Turn the tile upside down, place it on a flat surface and move the ON/OFF
switch to the ON position. Move the REC/PLAY switch to the REC position.
Locate the AUDIO-IN socket and use a 3.5mm Phono Plug Lead, (bought
separately), to connect to the Earphone Socket of an audio device such as a CD
Player, Computer or Sma rt Phone.
Play the audio from the input device. Press and hold the base down when you
wish the recording to start and release when you wish the recording to stop.
Note: Ensure the base is held down so that the red light remains on whilst you
are recording.
NOTE: For both methods of recording, you can only record one single 80
second message, You can re-record as many times as you wish, but the new
recorded message will replace the previous one.
How to playback a message
Move the REC/PLAY switch to the PLAY position and turn the tile upright. Press
down on the top of the tile once and release. you wish to stop the playback at
any time press down again.
If Volume control and sound quality
You can adjust the playback volume by changing the distance you speak from the
microphone.
If you are recording via the AUDIO-IN socket, try adjusting the volume level
on the input device.
Removeable Clear Covers
Each tile includes a removable clear cover that allows you to create pictures,
letters or words to match your recordings.

- Do not mix different types of batteries.
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Batteries must be fit ted with the correct polarity.
- Exhausted batteries must be removed from the battery compartment.
- The power supply terminals must not be short-circuited.
