Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Preparation
- Ensure that the composter is clean and dry before starting the process.
- If using the supplied MAZE ‘Liquid’ Bokashi, skip to Step 2. If using ‘Bran’ Bokashi, proceed with the following steps.
- Place a layer of ‘Bran’ Bokashi at the bottom of the composter. The recommended amount is 20ml, which is equivalent to 8-10 sprays of ‘Liquid’ Bokashi.
Step 2: Adding Organic Waste
- Collect your organic waste such as fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, tea bags, and leftovers.
- Cut or break larger pieces of waste into smaller, manageable sizes.
- Add the organic waste to the composter, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
- Avoid adding large amounts of liquids or oily substances as they may affect the composting process.
- Close the composter lid tightly to prevent any odor leakage.
Step 3: Applying Bokashi
- If using the supplied MAZE ‘Liquid’ Bokashi, follow the instructions mentioned in this step. If using ‘Bran’ Bokashi, skip to Step 4.
- Open the ‘Liquid’ Bokashi bottle and spray 8-10 times over the added organic waste. Ensure even coverage.
- Close the composter lid tightly after applying the ‘Liquid’ Bokashi.
Step 4: Fermentation
- Allow the organic waste to ferment in the composter for at least 2 weeks.
- During this period, it is recommended to drain any excess liquid that may accumulate in the composter through the provided tap.
- Check the composter regularly for any unpleasant odor or signs of mold. If necessary, add more ‘Bran’ or ‘Liquid’ Bokashi to suppress odor or prevent mold growth.
Step 5: Using the Compost
- After the fermentation period, the waste will have transformed into nutrient-rich compost.
- Remove the compost from the composter and allow it to mature for an additional 2 weeks in a separate container before using it in your garden or potted plants.
- The compost can be mixed with soil or used as a top dressing for plants to enhance their growth and health.
