F30 Wireless Charging System for BMW

Wireless charging unit for BMW 2012-2016 F3X 3/4 series Pre-Facelift / LCI models (F30/F31/F32/F33/ F34/F36) I 2014-2020 F8X M3/M4 Models (F80/ F82/F83) (excluding CS/GTS models.)

Tools needed: drill (15/64 drill bit included), t20 Allen wrench (included), small flathead screwdriver, plastic interior pry tools if available It is highly recommended to unplug  the battery in the vehicle before starting any electrical work!!

  1. Remove factory shift knob by pulling straight up.
    Becareful not to injure yourself. Once shifter/shift knob is removed, next will be the shift surround ring and plug for shift knob light if equipped.

Now that the shift knob and boot is removed next you will lift up the traction control button by reaching to the front with your middle or ring ringer and pushing the  clip all the way at the front towards the rear of the car and up and it will release upwards. Remove plug and place to the side.

  3. Next you will need to remove the trim on the side with the idrive controller. First lift the armrest, next you will need to use a pry tool or your fingers to grab an edge and  lift the trim up. Once lifted you will flip over and leave to the side.

  4. Now take the Included T20 Allen tool and remove the x2 t20 Allen screws shown below.

  5. After the x2 T20 screws are removed, you will now start lifting the console to get it ready for removal. Once you have it lifted you will remove the small black and the white colored lighter connector shown below. Once done remove console.

  6. With the console removed we can move onto installing the wireless charging unit. 1st we will remove the 2 springs on each side. Followed by the 2 plastic clips using a small screwdriver or pick. Finally you will need to remove the long metal bar. (We will use in next step)

  7. Now with the bar removed the factory lid can be removed and set aside. If you chose the core option when you purchase the charger your box will come with a usps box with a pre-made label to send the core lid back to induktiv.

  8. Next you will need to drill a 15/64″ hole in the console for the charger wiring to run through. Use the included drill bit and replace the metal bar to help with hole placement. Use the pictures below as reference.

  9. Now with the hole drilled run the red connector through the hole. Once ran you will install the new Induktiv charging lid using the same 2 springs , black clips and metal bar.
    Next you will plug the red connectors together and finally the white connector from the charging unit to the lighter plug. The remaining plug will connect for the car harness.

  10. Make sure the lid works properly by lifting up and checking to see if it holds itself open. If everything works as it should you can now re install the console back in the  vehicle doing steps 6-1 in reverse order.
