Connecting to water source
- Drip irrigation works best at average to low pressure. As such we have included a pressure reducer that must be connected. This is especially important if you have very high pressure.
- Please note this does not reduce static pressure (when there is no water flow).
- The pressure reducer can be screwed directly to the tap. Now the tap connector can be tightly attached to the bottom of the Pressure Reducer.
Connecting mazeDRIP
First uncoil the mazeDRIP and lay it out so it will become easier to position and weave in your garden. Connect one end to the tap or hose (as per the options above). You will note these black tube connectors have 3 barbs (see pic) which means you do not need a hose clamp as the tube will not slip off the connector. However, this does mean it can be difficult to get the tube onto the connector. The tube can be softened by placing the end in very hot water. After is has been in the water for a minute you can push the connection on more easily.
Layout the mazeDRIP
- The layout of your garden will determine the best way to lay out the mazeDRIP.
- Below are some popular options.
- Keep in mind that water will spread around 15cm on each side of the tube (30 cm diameter).
- Therefore, the tubes should be around 30cm apart to cover all the area between them.
- The mazeDRIP can be fixed to the ground with the ground stakes provided.
- It can also be placed under mulch in a garden bed. Besides the option to run the full length of the mazeDRIP in one run (like the examples above), there are also other options using the fittings provided.
- For example, the straight Joiner can be connected to another coil to run another mazeDRIP (max 100m in one run).
- The Tee Connector will enable an offshoot to be run in a different direction to give more flexibility in layout options.
- We have supplied 3 of each in case you need them.
Closing off the end
-
Once the mazeDRIP is in place you can cut off any extra which is not needed and close the end of the tube.
-
This is done by using the Line End fitting. Thread the tube into one of the holes in the fittings then bend the tube and inserting into the other hole (see pics on the right).
-
This was you can also easy open if you want to connect to fitting or flush water to clean. 3 Ends are supplied although you may only need one.
