parts and tools are accounted for and not damaged. If missing parts or parts
are damaged, please contact your Selling Dealer for assistance.

REQUIRED SOLD SEPARATELY
Only parts for installation of the Handguard Accent Light Kit are included.
For complete installation, the following additional kit is required (sold
separately):

IMPORTANT
Your Handguard Accent Light Kit is exclusively designed for your vehicle.
Please read the installation instructions thoroughly before beginning.
Installation is easier if the vehicle is clean and free of debris. For your
safety, and to ensure a satisfactory installation, perform all installation
steps correctly in the sequence shown.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
VEHICLE PREPARATION
GENERAL
- Park vehicle on a flat surface.
- Push engine stop switch to OFF position.
- Turn key to OFF position and remove key.
REMOVE SIDE PANEL
- Turn three side panel latches toward rear of snowmobile to release, then remove side panel.
REMOVE HOOD
- Turn hood fasteners counter-clockwise to release hood.
- Pull sides of hood out away from side panel fasteners.
- Lift hood up and away from snowmobile.
NOTIE
Disconnect wiring when removing hood.
SEAT REMOVAL
- Turn latch clockwiea to unlock seat
- Lift up rear of seat.
- Move seat back to remove from snowmobile.
REMOVE CONSOLE

Remove and keep two push pin rivets.

Remove and keep two screws.
-
Remove and keep two screws and one push pin rivet.

Remove and keep secondary clutch tool.
-
Remove fuel cap and fuel tank retainer nut.
TIP
Use a large adjustable pliers to remove fuel tank ratainar nut. -
Lift cowl slightly and disconnect ignition switch.
Disconnect other switches if equipped. -
Remove two clips and disconnect switch panel from cowl. Move switch panel away from cowl. Lift cowl away from snowmobile and set to right side. Leave starter pull handle attached.

Install fuel cap
ACCESSORY INSTALLATION

Remove and keep two screws.
NOTICE
Right side shown; left side similar. -
Remove handguard trim.

Put handguard accent light 1 on handguard mount.
-
Route wiring through slot in handguard. Route through opening in handguard mount.
IMPORTANT
Some Defend Handguard mounts may not have cutout. If handguard mount does not have cutout, installation of handguard accent lights will require installer to cut a slot in the mount as shown. -
Attach handguard accent light using two kept screws. Tighten until fully-seated.

Attach wiring to handguard mount using strap 5.

Install handguards onto handlebars. Put handguards next to handlebar riser. Torque screws to specification.
TORQUE
Handguard Mount Screws: 18 in-lbs (2 N-m) -
Route handguard accent light wiring along steering post. Connect to harness 3.
IMPORTANT
Route wiring behind throttle cable and brake hose. -
Route harness 3 down toward left side of snowmobile.

Route harness 3 to top of clutch guard.
-
Remove existing nut from top of clutch guard.
Attach controller using existing nut. Tighten until fully seated. -
Remove plug from chassis connector. Connect harness

Attach wiring using cable ties 4.
-
Attach harness to chassis tube using cable tie 4.
-
Attach wiring to steering post using cable ties 4.
IMPORTANT
Do not attach wiring to throttle cable or brake hose.
VEHICLE REASSEMBLY
INSTALL CONSOLE

Remove fuel cap.
-
Place cowl on snowmobile. Install switch panel using clips. Connect switch wiring.

Connect ignition switch wiring. Also connect other switch wiring if equipped.

Install fuel cap and fuel tank retainer nut.
TIP
Use a large adjustable pliers to install fuel tank retainer nut. -
Install two screws. Torque to specification.
TORQUE
Console Screws: 70 in-Ibs (8 N-m) -
Install two screws and one push pin rivet. Torque screws to specification.
TORQUE
Console Screws: 70 in-Ibs (8 N-m) -
Install secondary clutch tool.

Install two push pin rivets.
SEAT INSTALLATION
- Hook front of seat into position.
- Put rear of seat into latch.
- Turn latch clockwise to lock seat.
INSTALL HOOD

Install hood on snowmobile. Make sure tabs fit inside front pan.
NOTICE
Make sure to connect hood wiring when installing hood. -
Pull sides of hood out and install over side panel fasteners.

Turn hood fasteners clockwise to lock hood.
INSTALL RIGHT SIDE PANEL
- Install side panel on snowmobile. Turn fasteners toward front of snowmobile to lock in place.
OPERATION
- Download the XK Glow app, “XKchrome.”
- Inthe phone’s device settings, pair the controller to the app on the phone. When the controller is paired, it will appear at the top of the phone’s device list.
- The XKchrome app will guide the user through the apps features and how to control the lights.
