CLEANING THE CENTRAL BRUSH
The electric brush is intended for collection of household dust from the floor
and carpets by means of a rotating bristle roller. Its design is quite a
susceptible to clogging with long hairs, wool, threads etc. In case of
clogging, you should immediately cease vacuum cleaner operation, and take
measures for cleaning the bristle roller. The cleaning should be performed
each time after vacuuming.
The roller has got a separate electric drive which engages simultaneously with
the vacuum cleaner motor. To clean the roller:
(Fig. 20)
- Turn off the device through I/O switch (by setting it to “O” position).
- Flip the vacuum cleaner so that its rear part faces toward you.
- Given a small amount of hairs and threads having wound around the bristle roller, they can be cut away with a knife without detaching the bristle roller. For this, position a sharp knife between rows of bristles so that the sharp edge of the knife faces outward from the roller, and then move the knife along the roller to cut any hairs and threads wound around it. Then, any hair trims can be easily removed out of the brush body; for your convenience it is allowed to manually rotate the bristle roller around its pivot axis.
- Given a severe clogging of the bristle roller, detach the electric brush roller retention frame by a slight outward exertion on the retainer latch plates, and lift the near end of the frame, then take out the frame.
- Slightly lift the right end of the bristle roller by pulling to the right, then unlatch it from the drive, and take it out of the socket. Having the bristle roller taken out of the body, use a knife or scissors to easily clean the roller from any hairs and threads wound around it.
