Installation and connection

Equipment Installation
Attach the unit to the mounting arm and secure it using the tripod screw holes on the bottom of the device to the mounting arm.

Remove the back cover, thread the cable and the provided wire rope through the back cover, and connect them to the rear of the device as shown.

Example system configuration
MediCam can be combined with MediDVR, monitors and other equipment to form a personalized system. Forexample, users canuse the keyboard, panel buttons, computer, tablet, etc. to setthe white balance, exposure, focus, and image parameters of MediCam.

Connect Network
Connect the MediCam to a network with router or DHCP capability usinganetwork cable.

Connect Power Supply

  1. DCPower Supply After the DC power adapter supplies power to the MediCam, the status indicator will light up.

  2. PoE power supply
    MediCam can also be powered over Ethernet (PoE/PoE+) without a power adapter. If powered by PoE, a network cable must be connected to a PoE network switchwith at least CATSe cable.

Login the Web Console
MediCam provides four convenient and fast ways to log in to the web controlinterface.

  1. IP address
    MediCam’s DHCP is on by default. Please connect the HDMI/ SDI output to the monitor, the IP address will be automatically displayed in the upper left corner for a period of time after MediCam is turned on; or click the MENU button to call out the 0SD menu instantly to check the IP address. Input the IP address in the browser of mobile phones or computers in the same LAN to login the web control interface.

  2. Login to MediCam by mDNS
    Please enter http://medicam-xxxxx.local in your computer or mobile phone browser

  3. Loginto MediCam by device discover
    If you already have MediCam or ZowieBox, you can also login to the new MediCam by device discover, log in to the web control page, and click “Setting->Dashboard” to use the discovery function. After clicking “Scan”, find the serial number of the device that matches with the new MediCam label and click it to the web control interface of the device.

  4. Fail-safe IP
    When the connected network does not have DHCP function, when MediCam is directly connected to the computer via a network cable, or other unknown errors occur, the IP of MediCam will change to a failsafe IP (192.168.5.168). Please add 192.168.5.x network segment to your computer to log in the web control interface. For detailed configuration, please refer to the user manual.

User name: admin; Password: admin (5) Controlfrom youriPad oriPhone If users need to use mobile phone to log in the web control interface after logging in the web control interface on the computer side, please make sure that the mobile phone and MediCam are in the same LAN, and scan the QR code at the bottom left corner of the web page to log in the web control interface.

Encoding Mode

NDI Mode
MediCam has two working modes, normal encoding mode, and NDI encoding mode. It supports up to 4k30 output and encoding; supports encoding RTSP, RTMP(S), SRT and NDI (HX/HX2/HX3) streams. To switch to NDI encoding mode, please login the web control interface and click “Setting-> System-> NDI” to make sure NDlis activated.

After logging into the web control interface, click “Setting- >Streaning->NDI” to open the NDI button and reboot to enable NDIencoding mode.

NDI Connection
Compatible software:

After MediCam is switched to NDI encoding mode, it supports most of NDI software to discover MediCam automatically in the same LAN, for example, selecting the device you need to play directlyin NDI5 Tool.

Notes:
If the computer cannot search all NDI settings:
A. Check when your computer can log in MediCam’ s web control interface.
B. Please close the VPN and other related software.
C. Please check whether youare using a private network or public network, and check whether all NDI software is allowed to pass throughthe “Allow an app through the firewall”.

Local Stream

Through local streaming, users can view the effect of encoding settingsinrealtime onthe same LAN.

  1. Click “Streaming->Local ” in the web controlinterface.
  2. Click the icon on the right to copy the address of the primary orsecondary stream.

Internet Stream

  1. Click “Streaning->Live” onthe webpage.
  2. Click “+Add” to create a new network streaming task.
  3. Select the same protocol as the streaming address , enter the streaming address and key, and you can skip the streaming key.
  4. Entering the name of the network flow task and click save, the name will be shownin the preview interface for operation.
  5. Turn onthe Push Stream button to start pushing stream.

Restore Factory Settings and Reboot

  1. Restart MediCam
    Click “System->Default->Restart” inthe web controlinterface.

  2. Restore ZowieBox to factory settings:

  3. Click “system->Default->Restore factory default settings” inthe web controlinterface.

  4. Click the panel button MENU to bring up the OSD and select Restore Factory Settings.

Firmware Upgradding

  1. Click “System->Upgrade” in the web controlinterface.
  2. Click to select the file to upload the correct firmware.
  3. Click to upgrade.

Notes:
After clicking Upgrade, MediCam will be automatically upgraded and rebooted. This process will take a few minutes. During this period, please keep the network of MediCam smooth and stable power supply, otherwise it will lead to upgrade failure.
