DisplayPort 1.4 EDID Emulator
User Manual
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Lindy DisplayPort 1.4 EDID Emulator. This product
has been designed to provide trouble free, reliable operation. It benefits
from both a LINDY 2-year warranty and free lifetime technical support. To
ensure correct use, please read this manual carefully and retain it for future
reference.
The Lindy DisplayPort 1.4 EDID emulator adapter is designed for systems that
require EDID signals to be continuously provided without interruption and help
overcome EDID related problems which can occur when using AV/KVM Extenders,
Switches and Splitters.

Installation and Use
The EDID emulator contains pre-set EDID information for many commonly used resolutions and refresh rates, please refer to the table on the following page.
Cloning procedure
- Firstly, ensure the display and source devices are turned on.
- Insert a DisplayPort cable from the targeted display to the EDID Emulator.
- Connect the EDID emulator into the DisplayPort source device.
- With a small pin click the button on the top of the Emulator to start the cloning process. The LED on the top of the unit will flash blue for approximately 5 seconds. Once the LED is a solid blue light the cloning process is complete.
Restore to default EDID
Note: This process does not require a DisplayPort cable connected to the
Emulator or the display
- Connect the Emulator to the source device.
- With a small pin click the button on the top of the Emulator. The LED will start to flash blue for approximately 5 seconds. Once the LED has turned off the Emulator has now been reset to the pre-set EDID.

Please Note: in addition to the default EDID resolutions, there may be some different resolutions based on the source device and display capabilities.

Troubleshooting
Windows shows a “Generic Non-PnP Monitor” is connected – Please ensure that
the emulator is directly connected to the DP Source by its Male connector.
EDID Data is not cloned – Repeat the steps above, taking care to attach the DP
cable from the display to the Emulator.
