The lithium battery must not be exposed to excessive heat (such as sunshine) and must be correctly installed. Refer to the Changing the Lithium Battery section for more information

PREPARATION FOR USE

Unpacking and Set Up

Remove the alarm clock radio from the carton and packaging materials.
Retain the carton and packaging for future reference and in case the alarm clock radio ever needs to be serviced or transported.
Remove any descriptive labels or stickers on the front or top of the cabinet. Do not remove any labels or stickers from the back or bottom of the cabinet, Note the serial number on the bottom of your radio and write this number in the space provided on the Warranty page of this manual.
Place your radio on a level surface such as a table, desk or shell, convenient to an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight, and away from sources of excess heat, dirt, dust, moisture, humidity or vibration.
Select and attach the appropriate plug attachment to the AC mains adapter. Unwind and fully extend the power cable.
The FM antenna is built into this cord. It must be fully extended to provide the best FM reception.
Connect the mains adapter to the mains supply and the radio. Ensure the mains socket is switched on

Protect Your Furniture

This model is equipped with non-skid rubber feet to prevent the product from moving when you operate the controls. These ‘feet’ are made from non-migrating rubber material specially formulated to avoid leaving any marks or stains on your furniture. However certain types of oil-based furniture polishes, wood preservatives, and cleaning sprays may cause the rubber “feet” to soften and leave marks on the furniture. To avoid the risk of such damage to your furniture we recommend either a piece of cloth or self-adhesive felt pads attached to the underside of the alarm clock radio.

Power Source

The alarm clock radio uses an AC power adapter of a kind that depends on where the alarm clock radio is purchased. The AC power adapter for North America is rated 120V at 60Hz and within Europe or Australia is rated 220-240V at 50Hz. Using an incorrect AC power adapter is not covered by your warranty because it may damage the alarm clock radio. A lithium battery is used to maintain the time and alarm settings when the alarm clock radio loses AC mains power. To maximize the life of the lithium battery and to keep the radio and alarm functions active you must ensure the AC power adapter remains connected and that the AC mains outlet is never turned off. Ideally you should use an un- switched mains outlet.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Avoid installing this alarm clock radio in direct sunlight, close to sources of heat, where there is poor ventilation and places that are dusty, humid, wet or subject to vibration.
Operate controls and switches as described in the manual.
Before turning on the power, make certain that the AC adapter is properly installed.
When moving the unit, be sure to first disconnect the AC adapter. Do not use the AC power adapter if any part of it shows signs of damage.

SETTING THE DATE/TIME MANUALLY

To check the current date and time, short press “MENU/INFO” repeatedly to see the time,month,day and year.

Press and hold “MENU/INFO” button, the HOUR digits blinks on the display, then circulate the silver rotating knob to adjust the hour.
Press the “TUNE+” button, the MINUTE digits blinks on the display, then circulate the silver rotating knob to adjust the minute.
Press the “TUNE+” button again, the MONTH digits blinks on the display, then circulate the silver rotating knob to adjust the month.
Press the “TUNE+” button again, the DATE digits blinks on the display, then circulate the silver rotating knob to adjust the date.
Press the “TUNE+” button again, the YEAR digits blinks on the display, then circulate the silver rotating knob to adjust the year.
Press the “TUNE+” button again, the 24H or 12H digits blinks on the display, (24H means 24-hour clock, 12H means 12-hour clock).
Circulate the silver rotating knob to adjust the time format.
Press the “TUNE+” button again or wait for 40 seconds to save your setting.

SETTING THE ALARM

Push the AL1/AL2 slide swith to ON to turn on the AL1/AL2 before setting the alarm
Your clock radio has two separate alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2) that can be set and used independently. Please ensure that you have set the wakeup time(s) and the day(s) of the week needed for the alarms correctly.

SETTING THE WAKEUP ALARMS

Push the AL1 switch slide to ON to turn on the alarm1.
Push the AL2 switch slide to ON to turn on the alarm2.
Press and hold “AL1” button for 3 seconds and the “HOUR” digits will blink.
Circulate the silver rotating knob to adjust the hour.
Press the “TUNE+” button, the MINUTE digits blinks on the display, then circulate the silver rotating knob to adjust the minute.
Press the “TUNE+” button, the MINUTE digits blinks on the display, then circulate the silver rotating knob to adjust the minute.
Press “TUNE+” again and the “DAY(S) OF THE WEEK” texts (1-7) will blink.
Press circulate the silver rotating knob to select the alarm day mode(You can set the alarm days in the following 3 options:
Option 1: Everyday Monday to Sunday
Option 2: Weekdays Monday to Friday
Option 3 : Weekends Saturday and Sunday
Press “TUNE+” again, the alarm ringtone will blink, press circulate the silver rotating knobselect your desired ringtone:
Wake to Vibration
A: Wake to Buzzer(BB)
Wake to radio
Wake to DAB radio
Press “TUNE+” again and the “CURRENT VOLUME LEVEL” digits will blink. The volume levels range from 1 to 16, with level 16 being the loudest.
Circulate the silver rotating knob to adjust to your desired alarm volume level.
Press “TUNE+” button or wait for 40 seconds to exit the alarm setting.
If you need to turn off the ALE completely, Push the AL1 slide with to OFF.
To set the Alarm 2, repeat the above steps 1 to 9.

Note 1: If no operation is performed while the alarm is sounding, the alarm will stop after 60 minutes.

Note 2: The last radio station you listened to will play when you choose”Wake to radio” for your alarm ringtone.

SNOOZE/REPEAT

When the alarm goes off, press “SNOOZE” button to doze for another 9 minutes. You can repeatedly press “SNOOZE” for more dozings during the 60-minute cycle.
Press “AL1” or “AL2” button to stop the alarm from sounding.
To deactivate the alarm completely, Push the AL1/AL2 slide switch to OFF.

PLAYING THE FM RADIO

Press ” ” button to open the clock radio and press”M” button to switch to the radio mode. The frequency of “MHz ” will appear on the display. For better reception, fully extend and adjust the position of the antenna.Below are the 5 instructions (A to D) to operate the radio.

A: Adjust the “MHz “
In the radio mode, when the “MHz” digits appear on the display, press “TUNE-“ or “TUNE+” button to adjust the MHz frequency.
B: Auto-search/scan FM stations
Press “TUNE-“ or “TUNE+” buton for 2 seconds and release. The search/ scan will stop at the next available lower or higher station.

C: Store FM/DAB radio station presets (max. up to 20 stations)

In the FM/DAB radio mode, press “TUNE-” or “TUNE+” button to search your desired station.
Press and hold “PRESET” button until the Program Number (from 01 to 20) appears on the display.
Press “TUNE-” or “TUNE+” button to change to the Program Number you desired, press “SELECT” button again and your specific station will be stored under the selected Program Number.

D: Recall preset FM/DAB radio stations

When the radio mode is on, short press “PRESET” button and the Program Number(from 01 to 20) will appear on the display.
Press “TUNE-“ or “TUNE+” button to select your stored Program Number and listen to your preset station.
Press “SELECT” button to play your desired radio station

Note: Keep the clock radio away from other electronic devices to avoid radio interference. For better reception, fully extend and adjust the position of the FM antenna wire.

USING THE SLEEP TIMER

You can fall asleep to the FM/DAB radio using the sleep timer (The sleep timer duration ranges from 5 minutes to 120 minutes). After reaching the desired duration, the radio will turn off automatically.

Press ” ” to turn on the FM or DAB radio.
Press and hold the ”SLEEP/DIMMER” button, then the “SLP” digits will appear on the display which indicates the sleep timer has been set for 5 minutes.
To change the sleep timer duration, press “TUNE-“ or “TUNE+” button until your desired duration appears,then press “SELECT” button to store your selection.
To deactive the Sleep timer,keep pressing “SLEEP/DIMMER” button until the display shows :”SLEEP 5″, then press “TUNE-“ or “TUNE+” until “OFF” appears on the display,or pess ” ” to turn off the sleep timer directly.

Note: When setting the Sleep Timer successfully, the indicator “SLP” shows on the display and it appears on the screen untill the sleeping time ends.

PLAYING THE DAB RADIO

Operate your DAB radio

Press the ” ” button to turn on the clock radio, and press the “M”button to switch to the DAB radio mode.The “DAB”will appear on the display.
If this is the first time this unit goes into DAB Mode, it will automatically start an “Auto Scan” to search for available stations.(Once DAB mode has been used before, the horizon will automatically select the previously played station.).
Press”SCAN/BT ” to start an auto scan.
When the scanning is completed, the first station will be selected.The clock will automatically set to the current time.
Press “TUNE-“or “TUNE+” to select the available stations, and press the “SELECT” to confirm the desired station.

Manual Tuning DAB

When the clock is in DAB mode.Press and hold the “MENU/INFO” button to enter the menu (FULL SCAN will shows on the display), then press “TUNE+” or “TUNE-“ until the display shows MANUAL ,press “SELECT” to enter the service menu.
Press “TUNE-“ or “TUNE+” to highlight the desired channel.

Dynamic Range Control (DRC)Setting of DAB

When the clock is in DAB mode.Press and hold the “MENU/INFO” button to enter the menu(FULL SCAN will shows on the display), then press“TUNE+”or”TUNE-” until the display shows DRC,press”SELECT” to enter the setting menu.
Press”TUNE-“or “TUNE+” to select the required DRC setting (OFF/LOW/ HIGH)
OFF: DRC is off, broadcast DRC will be ignored.
HIGH :DRC level is used as sent by broadcaster.
LOW: DRC level is set to 1/2 that sent by broadcaster.
Press “SELECT” to confirm the setting.
Note: Not all DAB broadcasts are able to use the DRC function.If the broadcast does not support DRC, then the DRC setting in the radio will have no effect.

DIMMER CONTROL

To adjust the display brightness, press “SLEEP/DIMMER” buttonuntil your desired brightness level appears. Brightness is available in 5 levels and can be adjusted even when the radio or Bluetooth connection is in use.

Press “SLEEP/DIMMER”button,you can adjust the brightness level as below:

2-LEVEL LED DECOR

Press “LED” button to turn the night light on/(high/low)of off if needed.

BLUETOOTH CONNECTION

Press ” ” button to turn on the clock radio.
Press “M” button to switch to Bluetooth (BT) connection.
When the “BT” indicator blinks, the clock is searching for Bluetooth connection. Please turn on the Bluetooth of your external audio device and look for 729 for connecting. Once connected, the “BT” indicator stops blinking. Then you can play music from your external audio device through the clock speaker.
You can control the music playing either on your external audio device or by pressing “BT ” button on your clock to play or pause music.
Press “TUNE+” or “TUNE-“ to play music forwards.
Circulate the silver rotating knob to adjust the volume

Note: If pairing unsuccessful, all previously paired Bluetooth devices around should be disconnected first by pressing and holding the “BT ” button until it prompts, or turn Off their Bluetooth connection, in order to avoid making any auto reconnection between them. Then, set this unit to Bluetooth mode, and tap the Bluetooth switch on your phone/device Off and back “ON” again to refresh/search any nearby 729 for pairing.

USB FOR CHARGING

This clock has two USB charging port in the back, include a TYPE-C port, which can provide up to 5V 2.1A to charge devices like smart phones, tablet etc. via a USB cable(not provided).
Note: Electrical energy draw from the USB port may vary due to different charging cable condition,battery characteristic or power management systerm of your device being charged.

EARPHONE JACK

Press the ” ” button to turn the unit On.
Press the “M” button to select and listen to your desired audio source (Bluetooth,Radio or DAB Radio.).
Adjust the output volume by circulating the silver rotating knob.
Connect your headphone plug into the 3.5mm earphone jack to enjoy streaming stereo through your headphone.

Note: If an alarm is set and your headphone is still connected to the unit, Wake to Radio/Buzzer alarm will not go off on the speaker but only on your headphone.

CAUTION: Prolonged use of headphone at high volume may cause irreparable hearing loss. We strongly advise you to adjust the headphone volume to a reasonable level. The higher the volume for a prolonged time, the higher the risk of damaging your hearing.

This product contains a coin/button cell battery. If the coin/button cell battery is swallowed, it can cause severe internal burns in just 2 hours and can lead to death.
Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.
If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Care of Cabinets
If the cabinet becomes dusty, wipe it with a soft cloth. it the cabinet becomes smudged or dirty, clean it with a soft, slightly dampened cloth Never allow water or any liquid to get inside the cabinet. Never use any abrasive cleaners or cleaning pads as these will damage the finish of your radio.

Lithium Battery Precautions

Dispose of the old battery properly. Do not leave it lying around where a young child or pet could play with or swallow it. It the battery is swallowed, contact a physician immediately.
The battery may explode if mistreated. Do not attempt to recharge it or disassemble it. Do not dispose of the old battery in a fire. The apparatus must not be exposed to dripping or splashing and objects filled with liquids, such as vases, must not be placed on the apparatus. This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed of with other household wastes throughout the country. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle this unit responsibly so as to promote the re-use of material resources. To return your used device, please use return and collection systems or contact the retailer where the product was purchased as they know how to safely recycle this product.
