700X40 Tubeless Complete

For Goodyear Tubeless Complete & Tubeless Ready tires with Tubeless Ready rims

Before you start installation you will require:| It is recommended you also have:

• Tubeless sealant
• Rim tape
• Tubeless valves
• Pump or compressor
• Scissors| • Sealant injector
• Valve core remover
• Soapy water
• PPE : Safety goggles & gloves
• Pressure guage
• Tire levers

Thank you for your purchase of Goodyear Bicycle tire. Our propriority Dual Angle Bead technology means that installation of your new Goodyear tires will be a quick and easy process. However, please read through and understand the following instructions before you commecnce installation.

STEP 1

Prep the Rim:

  • Dip rag in cleaning product and wipe down the rim bed and walls.
  • Begin taping the rim, opposite the valve.
  • Install the tape around the rim inch by inch, be sure to keep good tension on the tape. After 2 revolutions of tape, overlap the tape at the end by 3-4 inches. Use scissors to cut.

STEP 2

Install the valves:

  • Using a sharp object or the end of the scissors, pierce a hole at the point of the valve hole
  • Install the valve into and through the hole.
  • Install the valve nut and thread until tight. Tighten the nut only to hand tightness. Do not use tools to tighten beyond hand tightness.

STEP 3

Install your Goodyear tire:

  • Install the first tire bead. Bit by bit, manipulate the bead over the first rim wall.
  • Install the second bead, starting opposite the valve. To achieve more slack keep the bead into the rim channel.
  • If using a sealant injector, pull the last section of bead over the lip of the rim. If you need use tire levers, pay careful attention so you don’t damage the tubeless tape.
  • If not using a sealant injector, leave around 15cm of the bead on one side uninstalled.

STEP 4

Adding sealant:

  • Shake your bottle of sealant to evenly distribute sealing particles.
  • If not using a sealant injector, upturn the bottle of sealant for around 15 seconds, then release the amount of sealant specified by the sealant manufacturer into the tire via the unstalled portion of bead.
  • If using a sealant injector remove the valve core, and using a sealant injector inject the amount of sealant specified by the sealant manufacturer through the valve.

STEP 5

Optional – Beading your tires:

  • It can help seating of the bead to apply soapy water around the bead edge. This reduces friction between the tire bead and the rim wall, allowing the bead to slide into place.

STEP 6

Inflating your tires:

  • With the valve core, removed check that both beads are in the channel of the rim all round the wheel
  • Fit your pump or compressor, and inflate as fast as possible. At this point the beads of the tire should move into place and seat againt the wall of the rim. You will hear a positive seating sound as the bead slots into place under pressure.
  • As soon as the bead has seated all around the tire, remove the inflation device head and refit the valve core.

STEP 7

Finalising your Tubeless setup:

  • Inflate the tire using our tire pressure calculator if you aren’t sure what pressures to run; www.goodyearbike.com/tire-pressurecalculator.
  • Shake and spin your wheel to ensure a coating of sealant around the inside of the tire.
  • Some tan wall tire may weep a small amount of sealant to begin with. If this occurs lay the wheels on their side and the sealing particles will fill the microscopic holes.
  • Once the tire and rim setup is complete, install your wheel back onto your bike. Your tubeless set-up is now ready to ride!
