Thermal transfer

Thermal transfer printing is a printing method in which material is applied to paper through melting a coating of ink ribbon which then adheres to the paper to display text and images.
If your labelling application needs to last for a longer amount of time or is likely to be exposed to tough conditions, such as direct sunlight or extreme temperatures, thermal transfer printing is the better printing technology for you.

Direct thermal labels
- Direct thermal labels need to be used with a direct thermal label printer and are best suited for short label lifespan applications.
- This inexpensive label type is perfect for temporary applications like eCommerce address labels.
Uncoated paper labels
- Uncoated paper labels for thermal transfer printing offer superior barcode printing to direct thermal labels and the print outs are much less likely to fade.
- These labels are typically used when a long-lasting label is required.
Coated paper labels
- For better quality thermal transfer printing, coated paper labels offer a more premium label print when high barcode resolutions are needed for scanning.
