    • Follow the steps below to assemble and operate the roller garage door:

  • The roller garage door is suitable for outdoor use and opens and closes vertically.
  • The operator is designed for operation in dry areas.

General safety instructions

  • Always keep the door’s area of travel free from obstructions. During door operation, neither persons, children in particular, nor objects may be located within the door’s area of travel.
  • Do not use the door to lift objects or persons.
  • Do not alter or remove any components. You otherwise risk putting important safety components out of action. Only use original parts intended for use with this particular roller garage door.
  • Protect the door from:
    • Aggressive and corrosive agents, such as saltpetre reactions from stone or concrete
    • Acids, alkali, gritting salt
    • Aggressive paints or sealants.
  • Make sure that there is sufficient water run-off and ventilation (drying) in the lower section of the side guides.
  • Operating the door under wind exposure may be dangerous.

Approved safety equipment

  • Safety-relevant control functions or components, such as the closing edge safety device and external photocells, if available, have been designed and approved according to EN ISO 13849-1.

Fitting and initial start-up

ATTENTION: Important instructions for safe fitting Follow all instructions; incorrect fitting can lead to serious injuries.

WARNING Danger of injury: Failure to comply with the following instructions may result in injury.

  • Check that the fixing materials supplied are suitable for the given structural conditions. Only use suitable fixing material.
  • Secure the door from falling.

ATTENTION Damage to the product

Observe the following instructions:

  • Throughout fitting, protect the door‘s components, especially the door curtain, from dirt and damage.
  • Fasten the bracket holder to the building structure with 1 bolt on each side.
  • Fasten the booms with 3 or 5 bolts on each side. Otherwise the wind load indicated on the data label cannot be ensured.

Electrical connection / mains voltage
Contact with the mains voltage presents the danger of a deadly electric shock.

Please note the following:

▶ Commission a qualified electrician for electrical connections.

▶ The on-site electrical installation must conform to the applicable protective regulations (230/240 V AC, 50/60 Hz).

▶ The mains plug must be disconnected before any work is performed on the operator. Switch off the system at the mains with a permenant connec- tion. Safeguard the system against being switched on again without authorisation according to the safety regulations.

  • Check all safety and protective functions monthly. Have malfunctions or defects rectified immediately by a specialist.
  • Instruct all persons using the door system on the proper and safe use.
  • Demonstrate the safety reversal. To do this, stop the door with both hands while it is closing. The door system must initiate the safety reversal.

Fitting

  • You can fit the roller garage door from the inside behind the opening, in the opening or from the outside in front of the opening.

Without fitting holes

  • The door was ordered without fitting holes, so the fitting holes must be drilled on the construction site.
  • To ensure simple and safe fitting, carefully go through the work steps.
  • All dimensions in the illustrated section are in mm

Mains voltage

  • If required, a permanent installation with 230 / 240 V AC, 50 / 60 Hz can be set up via an allpole mains isolator switch with corresponding prefuse instead of using the mains cable.

Connection of additional components

  • Pull the mains plug out before connection. Open the cover of the control housing to connect additional components. All connecting terminals can be given multiple assignments, but with a maximum of 1 × 2.5 mm2.

Radio

Hand transmitter

WARNING: Danger of injury during door travel Using the hand transmitter can cause injury to people by triggering door travel.

  • Make sure that the hand transmitter is kept away from children. Only persons who have been instructed in the function of the remote-controlled door system may use the hand transmitter.
  • If the door has only 1 piece of safety equipment, only operate the hand transmitter if you have visual contact with the door.
  • Only drive or pass through door openings of remote-controlled door systems if the door is in the OPEN end-of-travel position.
  • Unwanted door travel may occur if a hand transmitter button is accidentally pressed (e.g. if stored in a pocket / handbag).

CAUTION

  • Danger of injuries due to unintended door travel
  • Unwanted door run may occur during the learning process on the radio system.
  • During the teach-in of the radio system, neither persons nor objects may be located within the door’s area of travel.

ATTENTION

  • Functional impairment caused by effects of the environment
  • Non-compliance with these instructions can impair the function.

Protect the hand transmitter from the following conditions:

  • Direct sunlight (permissible ambient temperature: –20 °C to +60 °C)
  • Moisture
  • Dust

NOTES

  • After programming or extending the radio system, check the functions.
  • Only use original components when putting the radio system into service or extending it.
  • Local conditions may affect the range of the radio system.

The hand transmitter works with a rolling code that changes with each sending procedure. You must teach-in the hand transmitter with the desired hand transmitter button on each receiver that you want to control.

Hand transmitter LED signals

  • The LED illuminates:
    • The hand transmitter is sending a radio code.
  • The LED flashes:
    • The hand transmitter is still transmitting, but the battery is too weak. Replace the battery.
  • The LED is not illuminated:
    • The hand transmitter is not functioning.
    • Check whether the battery has been inserted correctly.
    • Replace the battery with a new one.

Integrated radio module

  • With an integrated radio module, you can teach in 6 hand transmitter buttons each for the ímpulse (Open, Stop, Close, Stop) functions.
  • If more than 6 hand transmitter buttons are taught in per function, the function is deleted from the hand hand transmitter button that was taught in first.
  • The following conditions must be met to program the radio module or delete its data:
  • The pre-warning or hold-open phase is not active.

NOTES

  • To operate the operator with radio, you must teach-in a hand transmitter button on an integrated radio module.
  • Teach in radio 868 MHz (Fig. 7.1a)
  • Teach in radio 433 MHz (Fig. 7.1b)

Teaching in the hand transmitter buttons for an integrated radio module:

  1. Press the TEACH circuit board button 1 × briefly. Availability of radio programming is immediately stopped if the TEACH circuit board is pressed again. The GE LED flashes. Meanwhile, you can program a hand transmitter button for the desired function.
  2. Keep the hand transmitter button you want to teach in pressed until the yellow LED flashes quickly.
  3. Release the hand transmitter button. Push the hand transmitter button again within 15 seconds, until the LED begins flashing very rapidly.
  4. Release the hand transmitter button. The yellow LED will be illuminated. The hand transmitter button has been taught in and is now ready for operation.

Deleting all data in an integrated radio module

  1. Press and hold the TEACH circuit board button. The GE LED flashes slowly and signalises availability for deletion.
    • The flashing then becomes more rapid.
    • Now the data of all the hand transmitters’ learned radio codes is deleted.
  2. Release the circuit board button TEACH.

Normal operation Operation via cover keypad:

  1. Push of a button: Door runs in the direction of the arrow
  2. Push of a button: Door stops
  3. Push of a button: Door runs in the direction of the arrow

Operation with the hand transmitter: The hand transmitter works exclusively with impulse sequence control.

  1. Impulse: The door runs towards an end-of-travel position.
  2. Impulse: The door stops.
  3. Impulse: The door runs in the opposite direction.
  4. Impulse: The door stops.
  5. Impulse: The door runs in the direction of the end-of-travel position selected in the 1st impulse

Teach in the OSE radio (Figure 6.2b)

  • OSE radio reset (Figure 6.2b)
  • Initial start-up
    • Conduct a test run. Check the door in accordance with section Inspection and maintenance.
    • When properly fitted and inspected, the roller garage door moves smoothly, is functionally safe and easy to operate.

Inspection and maintenance

Safety instructions

  • Commission a specialist to carry out the inspection and maintenance work at least once a year in accordance with these instructions.
  • Check all safety and protective functions monthly. Immediately commission a specialist to correct malfunction or defects.

WARNING door travel
There is a danger of injury in the door’s area of travel.

  • During door operation, neither persons, children in particular, nor objects may be located within the door’s area of travel.
  • Switch off the operator at the mains. Safeguard the system against being switched on again without authorisation according to the safety regulations.
  • Functional parts, particularly safety components, may only be exchanged by specialists.
  • The roller garage door operator is maintenance- free.

Checking the condition of the door

  • Visually inspect the general condition of the door, all components and safety equipment for completeness, proper condition and effectiveness.
  • Check all fixing points for a secure hold. Tighten loose bolts.

Check the pressure roller

  • Clean the pressure rollers. Check the rollers for wear. Have the rollers replaced by a specialist if they are greatly worn or damaged.

Check end-of-travel positions

  • Check the end-of-travel position setting after 2000 door cycles. For this you must activate the DIL switch 8.
  • To do this, please follow the instructions in the section Setting additional functions via DIL switches – Door maintenance display.
  • If the roller garage door no longer moves correctly to the defined end-of-travel positions, commission a specialist to adjust the end-of-travel positions (Figure6.4).
  • For this purpose, compare your roller garage door (with Fig. 6.4). The top three sections must not be completely closed at the hinge.

Check wired closing edge safety device (SKS)

  • When all components belonging to the SKS have been properly installed and connected, the green LED in the terminal box on the bottom profile lights up continuously.
  • Check the function of the SKS by mechanically compressing the bottom rubber. The relay on the circuit board switches audibly and the right LED on the keypad lights up red.
  • If the red LED display on the keypad flashes 9 times, there is an error on the SKS. To do this, please follow the instructions in section LED display on keypad.
  • Check that the 3 wires of the SKS spiral cable are firmly seated on the terminals on the circuit board inside the SKS housing cover. If the terminals have loosened, tighten them again.
  • If the fault persists, instruct a specialist to put the SKS back into operation properly or to replace the bottom profile.

Accessories

  • Only use original components precisely matched to the garage door. This ensures the high performance level of quality, safety, reliability, as well as a long service life.
  • We recommend the use of the DuraBelt winding unit to reduce design-related abrasion on the door curtain to a minimum.
  • Loading of the operator by all electrical accessories: max. 100 mA.

Cleaning and care

  • The design of the roller garage door represents stateof- the-art technology. Pressure marks and abrasive wear, particularly on the top profiles, are design-related and cannot be avoided. They are not considered a reason for complaint.
  • In order to avoid excessive friction, remove any soiling from the door curtain at regular intervals.

Door curtain

  • Clean the door surfaces with clear water, a soft sponge and a neutral, non-abrasive cleaning agent.
  • We recommend care set art. no.: 4 020 356 for regular door curtain care.

Data label

  • Clean the data label.
  • The data label must always be easy to read.

Assistance with malfunctions

If the door is difficult to move or exhibits other malfunctions:

  • Check all functional parts. To do this, please follow the instructions in the section Inspection and maintenance.
  • In the case of uncertainty, please contact a specialist for assistance.

Dismantling and disposal

  • Have the door dismantled and disposed of by a specialist.
  • Have a specialist dismantle the control in the reverse order of these instructions and dispose of it properly.
  • Electrical and electronic devices may not be disposed of in household rubbish. They must be returned to the appropriate recycling facilities.
