Tuning machine tension adjustment
Facing the front tuning peg of the guitar, clockwise rotation can make the strings loose, counter clockwise rotation can make the strings tight.
Change strings
- Put the new string into the hole and the head of the string into the hole about 1-2 inch deep.
- Press down the bridge pins and fix the string head.
- Put the string into the hole of the tuning pegs, and reserve a distance. Wind up the string half a circle around the tuning post from the bottom in the opposite direction (Wind 4, 5, 6 strings clockwise and 1, 2, 3 strings anticlockwise). Then bend backward from
- the top and start to rotate the string. The string should rotate at least 2-3 times. After tuning to the standard tone, cut off the extra string.
Truss rod adjustment
Make any adjustments gradually. Allow five to ten minutes for setting, and
check the curvature after each 1/2 turn of the truss rod nut. Adjust the
curvature of the neck. The neck should normally be slightly concave. Clockwise
rotation can make the neck bulge, which can correct the problem that the neck
is too concave and the string is too high. Anticlockwise rotation can make the
neck convex, which can correct the problem of excessive neck bulge resulting
in buzzing.
How to tune a guitar
- Clip the tuner on the head and adjust to guitar mode.
- Tune the six strings to standard tones in turn. Standard tuning has the strings tuned to the notes E-A-D-G-B-E.
Note : When tuning, you should rotate the tuning pegs slowly. Otherwise the string will break.
