Introduction

The mountable Pyle PDWR64 speaker systems offer powerful wireless Bluetooth performance both indoors and outside. These speakers are the ideal option for adding full range stereo sound on boats, decks, patios, or backyards because of their durable marine grade waterproof construction. A 2-channel digital amplifier and two speakers—one active and one passive—are included in the system. Once connected, the strengthened long-throw woofers produce some tremendous bass, while the polymer dome tweeters produce clear high frequency sound. You can quickly and simply connect to and stream audio from all of your favourite devices thanks to built-in Bluetooth (works with iPhones, Androids, Smartphones, Tablets, Laptops, Computers, etc.). The back mounted gold-plated connector allows you to attach extra external devices to your speaker system. RCA audio jacks and speaker plug terminals are used. The Pyle PDWR64 indoor/outdoor speaker sets provide quick wireless streaming capability and powerful waterproof music performance.

Bluetooth connection

Please be sure the Bluetooth is turned on at your device. When the device is in Bluetooth range, it will connect Bluetooth automatically and will be disconnected automatically when it is out of Bluetooth range.

MOUNTING THE BRACKET

  1. Remove the bracket knobs and the bracket from the speaker.
  2. Hold the bracket up to the mounting surface. The speakercan be mounted either horizontally or vertically. Hold the bracke so that the speaker wire fits through the large, circular wire hol in the bracket. Align the bracket to be square with the surrounding (use a level for accuracy).
  3. Mark the locations of the three shaped screw holes. Use all of the holes.
  4. Drill pilot holes into the mounting surface.
  5. Gently pull the speaker wire through the wire hole in the center of the mounting bracket. Align the bracket so that the holes all line up.
  6. Use your hardware to attach the bracket to the mounting surface.

FINAL ADJUSTMENTS

  1. After checking that the speaker is in-phase and works correctly, angle the speaker for the best sound.
  2. Hand tightens the bracket knobs only. Power tools may over-tighten the knob, and strip the threads of the insert.
  3. Check that the entire installation is safe and secure.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are they powered?

One of them has a built in 6 foot power cord for 120 volts the other connects to it with Speaker wire as a slave.

Anyone know how to disable the Bluetooth connection notification? It’s really loud!

Yes, it’s really annoying and loud. I get the notification sometimes in the middle of the night when I leave my nest mini connected to Pyle via bluetooth.

If I mount these up high do I need to turn them off each night? Do they have a standby mode and wake upon pairing?

They do have a stand-by mode (amber light instead of blue) after a certain period of inactivity. However, mine are connected to a power strip that I turn off after use so I really can’t answer whether they will re-connect automatically via Bluetooth after being in stand-by mode. I suspect they will.

The wire between the speakers is too short for my patio. can anyone please suggest a cable i can buy on amazon.?

Any speaker wire will work. You’ll have to just cut and splice the original in with the longer speaker wire.

Can u connect anything to it to play things directly or does it only use bluetooth connectivity ? can a tv be coonectected to it ?

You can hook up other sources to this unit, just have to designate which device you are going to use as if both play it will sound like crap so if you hook up a tv make sure your Bluetooth is off.

Hooking up google chromecast audio device? from the photos it appears that the input is rca type. chromecast is 3.5mm. use with 3.5mm to rca adapter?

That is exactly what I did. Make sure you get one long enough to place everything in a waterproof enclosure. Also, there is very little room under the waterproof flap for the RCA plugs.

Can anyone tell me specifically what type of plug that is called on the speaker wire connector? Do not want to splice.

No splice required. The wire goes from one speaker to the other, snd plugs rite in. And of course you’ll have the power cord from one of them . They sound real good , I’m happy with them so far.

What gauge are the speaker wires? Can I replace with 16 or 14 gauge? Can I use indoor wires outside, the outdoors are too short and too expensive

Yes you may use 14 or 16 guage wire to this unit.

Does the speaker run off amplifier power or does it need to be powered on to receive signal from amplifier? The active speaker that plugs in the an outlet is the only speaker that needs power. The other speaker gets the audio thru the provided speaker wire.

Note that the speaker wire is maybe 3 feet long so you will need to get a longer speaker wire if you’re going to have them further apart.

If we get 4 speakers total, could both sets work in stereo at the same time (1 indoor/1 outdoor) from the same bluetooth source?

In order to do that, the Bluetooth receive would need to be the same for all of these units. Unfortunately I don’t know if they are. Perhaps a quick call to tech support would answer this. I see a specific name under my list of Bluetooth devices (PYLE Audio).

Do they work with alexa?

These are bluetooth receivers, not transmitters, so your Alexa device would have to have bluetooth transmit mode.

Does the unit seem to stay powered on even if it not playing something or does the unit sleep?

Yes. The unit remains powered. To discontinue streaming to the speakers, I click off the speakers on the bluetooth device via the device’s bluetooth settings. The blue light then changes to red, and the sound stops streaming.

There has to be a way to use a replacement wire for the second speaker, right? Has anyone done that successfully?

Yes, you can extend the second speaker by using same gauge wires.
