Features and Functions

  1. Safety Handle: For safety reasons, the air fryer lid will only work if the top safety handle is completely folded down. If it is not completely folded down, the lid will not  turn on. Always use this handle to move and transfer the lid. To remove the lid from your cooking vessel, lift it by the handle and place it on the silicone mat. If the lid is  running and the safety handle gets raised, the lid will stop.
  2. Control Panel: The control panel comes with 8 preset functions for Chicken, Fish, Fries, Bake, Pizza, Vegetables, Hamburger, and Reheat. It also has two LED screens, the Start/Stop button, time controls, and temperature controls.
  3. Vents: The vents on the lid must remain clear of obstructions at all times during cooking. Any blockage could cause the air fryer lid to overheat and could lead to potential fire risk.
  4. Glass Lid : The air fryer lid is made of tempered glass that is heat resistant and easy to clean. It lets you check on your food inside the cooking vessel without having to remove the lid.
  5. Stainless Steel Rim : The stainless steel rim on the air fryer lid comes with 2 different size adjustments to fit cookware with an inner diameter between 8.5” and 9.75”.  Cookware with the required diameter will allow the lid to create a proper seal. The lid might move a bit on the cookware, this is normal.

Parts and Accessories

  1. Silicone Mat: Use the silicone mat before and after cooking with the air fryer lid. Before cooking it will provide a soft surface to hold the air fryer lid. After cooking it  will provide a heat-proof surface to hold the hot air fryer lid, avoiding burning your countertop. Do not use the silicone mat inside the cooking vessel.
  2. Cooking Tongs: Perfect for adding, removing, or turning foods in the cooking vessel during or after cooking. The cooking tongs can also be used to handle the frying basket before and after cooking.
  3. Frying Basket: Made of stainless steel, the frying basket is the most important accessory for your air fryer lid. It has a 2.1Qt capacity and comes with legs to keep it off  the inner base of the cooking vessel, allowing air to hit foods on all sides while cooking. Foods should always be placed in the frying basket for optimal results, but the frying basket should NEVER be overfilled with food.

How to Use the Air Fryer Lid

This section of the manual will instruct you on how to use the air fryer lid and the preset functions.

  1. Prepare a flat, steady surface away from all sources of heat and water with a heat-resistant cutting board or mat and place the cooking vessel for your air fryer lid on top. Do  not use the silicone mat as you will need it for the hot lid after cooking.
NOTE: We recommend using a cooking pot of 6Qt – 8Qt size as your cooking vessel. See page 7 for compatible Zavor cookware and electric units.
CAUTION: When using an electric cooker as your cooking vessel, remember to ALWAYS leave the removable pot inside the cooker body. DO NOT turn the electric  cooker on. All heating and programming must be done on the air fryer lid ONLY.

  2. Place seasoned food in the frying basket, making sure not to overcrowd the basket. If necessary, we recommend working in batches. When your basket is loaded, lower it into your cooking vessel.

  3. Plug the air fryer lid in, place it onto the cooking vessel, and lower the safety handle back until it clicks into place.

  4. Press the START/STOP button to bring the lid into standby mode. The two screens will display the default cooking time and temperature.

  5. Use the + and – buttons on either side of each screen to adjust the time and temperature.

  6. Once the desired time and temperature are set, press the START/STOP button to begin the cooking process. You’ll hear the internal fan start running.
NOTE: If your recipe requires preheating time, follow the above steps without placing the frying basket into the cooking vessel first. Set the timer for 1-2 minutes for  preheating. Once the preheating time has ended, add the basket, and follow the steps for programming the lid.

  7. While the air fryer lid is running, the display will show the set temperature and remaining time.
NOTE: For the best and most even results, toss or flip the food in the basket halfway through cooking.

  8. If you want to pause the cooking at any point, lift the top handle. The remaining cooking time and temperature will remain on the LED screens. To resume cooking, lower  the handle back down until it clicks into place. To stop the cooking process completely, press the START/STOP button. Both LED screens will clear any time or temperature  when the cooking process has been stopped.

  9. When the cooking time is done, the lid will automatically shut off. Lift the air fryer lid off the cooking vessel and place it on the silicone mat on a flat, stable surface. For  safety, we recommend unplugging the lid and allowing it to cool before storing.

Air Frying Tips

  • Almost any food you cook in the oven can be air fried.
  • Foods cook best and most evenly when they are of similar size and thickness. Smaller pieces of food require less cooking time than larger items.
  • Smaller pieces of food may be cooked at higher temperatures than larger items because they generally require less time to cook.
  • For best results in the shortest amount of time, air fry food in single layers.
  • Most prepared foods do not need to be tossed in oil before air frying. Most already contain oil and other ingredients that enhance browning and crispiness.
  • Frozen appetizers and hors d’oeuvres air fry very well.
  • Toss or flip foods halfway through the cooking cycle to ensure the most even results.
  • Toss foods you are preparing from scratch, such as French fries, with oil, in a separate bowl, to improve browning and crispiness. Fresh foods do not contain the same  oils, fats, and other ingredients that prepared foods contain, which promote browning and crispiness.
  • When making French fries using fresh potatoes, ensure they are completely dry before cooking. Even the smallest droplets of moisture will prevent them from getting crispy.
  • When air frying battered food, stick to thick, pasty batters. Thin batters, such as the batters used to make tempura, will run and not set fast enough like they do in a deep fryer.
  • Coating battered foods in panko breadcrumbs or puffed rice, and then spraying them with oil, can help create crispy, healthier versions of your favorite fried foods.
  • Cook chicken until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • The air fryer lid is great for reheating food using the Reheat function. To reheat your food, we recommend using the Reheat function. Use a thermometer to ensure food  reaches an internal temperature of 165°F, the recommended foodsafe temperature for reheating food.
  • Do not use any paper or plastic plates/containers in the cooking vessel.
  • Aluminum foil and parchment paper can be used to line the bottom of the frying basket if necessary.
  • It is not recommended to use any of the fryer lid’s tools for anything other than their intended use with the air fryer as this may damage the components.
  • Do not use the silicone mat inside the cooking vessel.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Do not wash the air fryer lid in the dishwasher. Always wash the frying basket thoroughly after every use.

  1. When the air fryer lid is unplugged and completely cool, gently wipe down the glass with a damp cloth or paper towel. Never immerse the air fryer lid or its plug in water or any other liquid. The air fryer lid is NOT dishwasher safe.
  2. Wash all accessories with a sponge and warm, soapy water. The frying basket may be washed with a bristle brush. Do not use abrasive cleaning agentsor scouring pads.  All accessories are dishwasher safe but hand washing is recommended.
  3. Dry thoroughly and store in a cool, dry place.
