Setting
Step 1: Setting the Drilling Depth (Depth Collar Adjustment)
Measure the thickness of workpiece firstly, then Insert the Slider Piece in
the downward position, read and set the Timber Thickness Scale according to
the measured thickness of workpiece (see FIG. 1).
Note: Recommended workpiece thickness range from 1/2″ (12mm) to 1-1/2″ (38mm).
Rest the Stepped Drill Bit on the Stop Collar Recess, set the Step of the drill bit to align with the scale matches the workpiece thickness. To drill in 3/4″ (19mm) material for example, set the Timber Thickness Scale at 3/4″ (19mm), and align the Step of the drill bit at the position of 3/4″ (19mm) (see FIG. 2)
Then simply slide the Depth Collar onto the drill bit shank and using the Allen Wrench to tighten the Stop Collar **(see FIG. 2)
**
Step 2: Drilling the Holes
Simply make the end of slider piece stick to the edge of material, before
drill your first pocket holes, first clamp the jig to the workpiece with a
Face Clamp or a similar woodworking clamp (see FIG. 3).
Insert the tip of the drill bit half way into the Drill Guide. Start the drill
to full speed, and plunge the drill into the guide until the Depth Collar
contacts the rim of the Drill Guide. Back the drill out and let the bit stop
turning.
CAUTION: Never attempt to hold the jig in your hand when drilling. The tool must be clamped to the wood for this step. Failure to follow these instructions could result in personal injury and/or damage to the tool(s).
Step 3: Assembly / Driving Pocket Hole Screws
Assembly/Driving Pocket Hole Screws, If you are using a Face Clamp to assemble
the joint place the large pad of the clamp on the face side of the joint
(see FIG. 4).
Be sure that both pads are equally balanced over each workpiece at the joint
line. Adjust the closure pressure until the two parts are firmly secured. The
Face Clamp will keep the face surface of the two pieces flush with each other
during assembly. It is recommended to drive the screws with a cordless
drill/driver that has an adjustable clutch. Start with a light clutch setting
and adjust torque as necessary to seat the pocket hole screw. Because the
hardness varies among wood species, plywood and composites, drive a few “test”
screws to select the proper clutch setting on your drill for the material you
are assembling.
Place the self-tapping screws down into the pocket hole and drive with a cordless drill until tight. Your joint should be tight, flush and extremely strong.
Select the Right Screw
Recommended Screw Length for Joinery

Step 4: Plugging the Pocket Holes
Place a plastic plug into the drilled hole, swab some glue inside, then sand the surface.
Tips for getting the most out of your pocket hole tool:
For safety, clamp parts to a work surface before drilling pocket holes.
NEVER HOLD THE TOOL AND PARTS IN YOUR HAND WHILE DRILLING.
- Use a corded electric drill with a speed of 2000 rpm or higher for drilling pocket holes.
- Use a cordless (battery) drill/driver with an adjustable clutch feature to drive screws.
