  • Health damage caused by hand-arm vibrations if the equipment is used over a prolonged period or is not properly guided and maintained.

Before starting the equipment

Disconnect the compressed air supply before performing any cleaning, adjusting and maintenance work

Air supply:
Via a compressed air source with pressure setting function, e.g. a compressor. Before starting up, please also read the section on care and maintenance.

Performance values of the compressor:
The compressor used should have a tank volume of at least 50 liters.

Setting values for work:
Set a maximum working pressure of 8.3 bar at your compressed air supply.

Before starting up, please also read the section on care and maintenance.

  • Ensure wrench air trigger is in the “off” position before connecting to the air supply, It will require air pressure of 90psi, and air flow according to specifi-cation.
  • Warning! Ensure the air supply is clean and does not exceed 120psi while operating the wrench. Too high an air pressure and unclean air will shorten the product life due to excessive wear, and may be dangerous causing damage or personal injury.
  • Drain the air tank daily. Water in the air line will damage the wrench.
  • Clean air inlet filter weekly.
  • Line pressure should be increased to compensate for unusually long air hoses (over 8 metres).
  • The hose diameter should be 3/8″ I.D.

Lubricating the tool
Each time before starting and during prolonged operation:

  • Insert 3-5 drops of special compressed air oil into the compressed air connection (see figure 2)
  • Let the equipment run briefly so that any surplus oil is blown out.

WORKPRO-W183002A-Drive-Air-Impact-Wrench-2

NOTE : This tool also features a grease cap (C) on the protector cover. Use a grease gun (not provided) and insert the gun nozzle into the grease cap (C). Several drops of grease are recommended for lubricating the internal hammer assembly. This will help the hammer assembly to work in good condition and extend tool life. Lubricate the hammer assembly once every working day. (See Figure 3)

Inserting/removing a tool (Fig. 4)
Fit the required drive socket insert by pushing onto the anvil (B).
Remove the drive socket by pulling it off the anvil (B).

Operation

Connecting to a compressed air supply
Remove the air inlet protective cap from the air inlet (E). Mount a air connection by hand into the air inlet (E). (See Figure 4) , Connect air supply hose (not supplied) to the air connection. Set the working pressure at 90 PSI for best tool performance.

Rotational direction/torque switch
You can select counter-clockwise or clockwise rotation and the torque using the reverse or forward exchange knob(F). (See Fig.5)

Torque selector

| Low torque
| Medium torque
| High torque

Important!
To avoid gear damage, make sure that the tool has come to a complete stop before you change the direction of rotation (See Fig. 6).

Choose the correct impact socket (not provid-ed) as needed and mount it onto the anvil (B). (See Fig. 7)

WORKPRO-W183002A-Drive-Air-Impact-Wrench-4

Warning!
Only use impact sockets that have an RPM rating equal to or greater than the tool itself.

If longer reach is necessary, use an extension bar (not provided) and then mount impact socket (not provided) onto the bar. (See Fig. 8)

WORKPRO-W183002A-Drive-Air-Impact-Wrench-5

Loosening:

  • Set the direction of forward and reverse exchange knob (F) to counter-clockwise, press the trigger (D), the tool anvil (B) runs counter-clockwise to remove/-loosen threaded fasteners.
  • Mount a drive socket insert on the impact driver (see point 6.2).
  • Place the impact driver on the screw/nut and press the trigger (D).

Tightening:

  • Warning! Use the impact driver only for loosening screws/nuts. If you want to use the impact driver to tighten screws and nuts, you must also use a torque limiter (not included) which is designed for this purpose. If not, the screw connection may be damaged.
  • Prior to tightening, carefully insert the screw/ nut into the threads.
  • Set the direction of forward and reverse exchange knob (F) to clockwise, press the trigger (D),The tool anvil (B) runs clockwise to install/tighten threaded fasteners.
  • It is important that screws/nuts with special torque specifications (for example provided by the vehicle manufacturer in the automotive sector) are tightened only with a suitable torque limiter.

Danger!
Screws/nuts must be finish-tightened with a torque wrench which is set to the torque specified by the manufacturer and then they must be checked!

Cleaning and maintenance

Disconnect the compressed air supply from the equipment before performing any cleaning work.

Cleaning

  • Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it with compressed air at low pressure.
  • We recommend that you clean the device immedi-ately each time you have finished using it.
  • Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep into the device.

Maintenance

Warning!
Disconnect the equipment from the compressed air supply before you carry out any maintenance or cleaning work.
Compliance with the maintenance instructions listed here will help this quality product provide you with a long service life and trouble-free operation.
Regular lubrication is essential for your equipment to work properly for a prolonged period of time.
Regularly check the speed and the vibration level by simply observing the tool.

NOTE: Use environmentally friendly compressed air oil if you want to operate the equipment outside the workshop.

The following lubrication options are available:

Lubrication
Each time before using the compressed air tool insert 3-5 drops of special compressed air oil into the compressed air connection. If the compressed air tool has not been used for several days you must insert 5-10 drops of special compressed air oil into the compressed air connection before switching on.
Store your compressed air tool only in a dry room.
8. Disposal and recycling
If your tool has become damaged beyond repair, do not throw it out. Bring it to the appropriate recycling facility.

Troubleshooting

The following form lists the common operating system with problem and solutions. Please read the form carefully and follow it.

Warning!
If any of the following symptoms appears during your operating, stop using the tool immediately, or serious personal injury could result. Only a qualified persons or an authorized service center can perform repairs or replacement of tool.

PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES SOLUTIONS

Tool runs slowly or will not operate

| Grit or gum in tool.| Flush the tool with air-tool oil or gum solvent.
No oil in tool.| Lubricate the tool.

Low air pressure.

| n Adjust the regulator on the tool to maximum setting.

n Adjust the compressor regulator to  tool maximum of 90 PSI.

Air hose leaks.

| Tighten and seal hose fittings if leaks are found. Use sealing tape.

Pressure drops.

|

n Be sure the hose is the proper size. Long hose or tools using large volumes of air may require a hose with an I.D. of 1/2 in. or larger depending on the total length of the hoses.

n Do not use a multiple number of hoses connected together with quick-connect fittings. This causes additional pressure drops and reduces the tool power. Directly connect the hoses together.

Worn rotor blade.| Replace rotor blade.

Moisture blowing out of tool exhaust.

| Water in tank; drain tank. (See air compres- sor manual). Oil tool and run until no water is evident. Oil tool again and run 1-2 seconds.

NOTE: Repairs should be carried out by a qualified person.
