Descaling the appliance

  • Depending on the lime content of the water and the frequency of use, the appliance must be described to ensure proper functioning.
  • When does it have to be described? As soon as the brewing time extends, operation noise turns louder or there is residual water in the water tank, this is an indication that the appliance needs to be descaled. We recommend descaling after 50 to 60 brewing processes but at the latest every 4 weeks.
  • The appliance is equipped with a descaling programme for this purpose. Descale the appliance as described below:
  • Mix approx. 80-100 ml of vinegar essence with 1 litre of water or use a commercially available descaler (follow the manufacturer’s instructions!) and fill the descaling solution into the water tank.

    • Phase 3: run through the remaining quantity of descaling solution.
  • After approx. 45 minutes, the descaling programme is finished. This is indicated by multiple signal tones. The symbol in the status display expires.

ATTENTION
After descaling, the water circuit of the appliance must be rinsed through. To do this, place the filter insert into the filter housing and carry out 2-3 water runs with the maximum filling quantity (12 cups} of cold water! Please pour out the water, as it might contain residues of the descaling solution! Afterwards thoroughly clean all the parts used for descaling (see ‘cleaning and maintenance’). Premature stop of the descaling programme: The descaling of the appliance can be stopped at any time by briefly touching the start/stop button.

Disposal/recycling
Packaging material Do not simply ~ throw the packaging material away but recycle it Deliver paper, cardboard and corrugated cardboard to wastepaper collection points. Also, put plastic packaging material and foils into the specific collection containers.

The printed or embossed markings indicate the materials that were used: PE stands for po~eth~ene (code 02 means high-density PE, 04 stands for low- density PE), PS stands for polystyrene and CPE for chlorinated po~~ene. PAP 20 means corrugated cardboard and PAP 21 other cardboard. All plastic; is thermoplastic; which is very easy and efficient to produce. They are also very easy to recycle and therefore can even have a smaller ecological footprint than comparable cardboard packaging.
