Installation of the Camera

Take off your rear license plate.
Using a screwdriver, remove each of the screws holding your rear license plate in place. Then, pull the plate off and set it aside.

NOTE : Make sure you place the screws in a safe place so you don’t lose them

  • Drill a small hole in the license plate mounting area
  • Drill a small hole in the license plate mounting area so you can run the cable into the trunk.
  • Hold your camera up to the area you intend to mount it to figure out where to make the hole mark the fixed position and note the spot where its splitting cord sits

Then, create a small hole in the car using a power drill. Line up your hole so it is directly behind where your camera’s power cable will go.

  • NOTE: The hole doesn’t have to be very big, just large enough for the cable. (It is about a 1⁄8 or 1⁄4 inch hole)
  • NOTE: Ensure that there are no obstructions between the license plate mount and the rear wiring chamber and you’re not drilling into anything you shouldn’t be.
  • NOTE: If you come across any obstructions, try to remove them. If you can’t, see if you can make a hole nearby.
  • Run the camera cable from outside of the car into the trunk of your car.
  • Attach the camera cable you ran through the hole to the single 4-pin connector of the extension cable. Run the other end (the 4-pin connector and a DC female connector) of the extension cable to the front of the car.
  • Connect the monitor cable to the 4-pin connector and attach the DC female connector to the car charger.
  • Plug the car charger into the car socket and test the system to make sure everything works.

Installation of the Monitor

Via Suction Cup

  • Place the locking screw and suction cup on the back of the monitor and adjust the monitor to the desired viewing angle. Then tighten the locking screw to secure the monitor.
  • Clean the area on the windshield or dashboard where the suction cup base is to be mounted. Press the suction cup base against the windshield or dashboard and move the locking lever towards the suction cup base. Connect the monitor cable to the 4pin connector

Via Fixed Bracket

  • Place the locking screw and fixed bracket on the back of the monitor and adjust the monitor to the desired viewing angle. Then tighten the locking screw to secure the monitor.
  • Clear the dashboard to fix the sticky sticker on the dashboard and put the screen on it.
  • Connect the monitor cable to the 4pin connector

NOTE:

  1. Some states or local governments may have regulations or laws that restrict the use of anything that might impair the clear view of a license plate. Check local laws for compliance.
  2. These instructions are only meant as a general guide due to the number of different makes and models of vehicles. For vehicle-specific questions, contact your vehicle’s manufacturer.
  3. This backup camera fits a standard license plate hole for the US. If you choose not to mount it on your license plate, locate a good place to mount the camera. Make sure that the camera’s field of vision is free of obstructions (bumpers, hitches, etc.).The camera should be positioned as close to the center of the vehicle as possible

  • Do a hard reset, unplug all cables, leave them out for 1 minute, and then re-connect them.
  • Ensure the connection to the camera is tight enough.
  • Verify the red positive trigger on the power harness cable is put to power 12v+.
  • Check the pins of the 4 pins cable of the camera if it’s aligned or broken. If the pins are awkward, you can gently straighten them. If there is a shortage in the cable, please contact us for a replacement cable.
