Installation Diagram
Powered by the reversing light, the camera is connected to the power cable through the 4pin connector and then connected to your screen through the extension cable RCA connector.
Installation of the Camera
Take off your rear license plate.
Using a screwdriver, remove each of the screws holding your rear license plate
in place. Then, pull the plate off and set it aside.
NOTE : Make sure you place the screws in a safe place so you don’t lose
them.
Drill a small hole in the license plate mounting area
Drill a small hole in the license plate mounting area so you can run the cable
into the trunk. Hold your camera up to the area you intend to mount it to
figure out where to make the hole and mark the fixed position and note the
spot where its splitting cord sits.
Then, create a small hole in the car using a power drill. Line up your hole so
it is directly behind where your camera’s power cable will go.
- NOTE: The hole doesn’t have to be very big, just large enough for the cable. (It is about a 1⁄8 or 1⁄4 inch hole)
- NOTE: Ensure that there are no obstructions between the license plate mount and the rear wiring chamber and you’re not drilling into anything you shouldn’t be.
- NOTE: If you come across any obstructions, try to remove them. If you can’t, see if you can make a hole nearby.
Run the camera cable from outside of the car into the trunk of your car.
Wire Connection
- Plug the 4Pin cable of the camera cable into the 4Pin connector of the power cable. (Use the arrows to align).
- Red thin wire connected to your reversing light (positive power), black thin wire connected to metal or ground wire (negative power).
- NOTE: the power supply for the camera must come from a reversing light. The power source can also be from the constant 12V power source, but the camera will always be on.
- Connect the RCA port of the power cable to the RCA extension cable, then wire in the car along the existing backbone harness, running the extension cable.
- Connect the yellow RCA port of the extension cable to your monitor (if your RCA port is already connected, then the red trigger wire can be ignored. If you don’t want to connect the yellow RCA port, you can energize the red trigger wire to the monitor)
- Test: when the car in reverse, the reverse lights should turn on – you may need your key on for this. The power from the reverse lights will power up the camera and should trigger the monitor to display. If the monitor does not automatically switch to the display then you will need to adjust a setting in the menu. Look for “camera input” or “reversing”
Other Descriptions
The function of the Camera Wire
- Cutting white wire will close the parking guidelines ( default with guidelines).
- Cutting the green wire will switch the image to facing front view (the default is mirror rear view).
- NOTE: If you cut the camera cable, you need to disconnect the power of the camera and reconnect it, so that the function will be displayed.
Small Bracket
- If you want to use the small bracket to install, you can use a screwdriver to remove the large bracket, replace it with the small bracket, and then install it in the location you want, but it requires drilling.
Additional Notes
- Please connect the wire tightly.
- If the camera is connected to the fuse box, you need to pay attention to the loss of power in the vehicle battery, a prolonged loss of power will affect the start of the vehicle.
- If the voltage is too high, the long-term work will lead to damage to the camera.
- The camera is CVBS, please check if your head unit is compatible with CVBS.
- If you don’t need the guidelines, you can cut the white wire/ loop. If you still need to use it after cutting it off, please reattach it.
