SAVE THESE IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This document contains important instructions and warnings that must be followed when using the AC Magic Dock.
WARNING: Read this document before using the
AC Magic Dock. Failure to follow any of the instructions or warnings in this
document can result in fire, electrical shock, serious injury or death.
WARNING: The AC Magic Dock is designed only
for charging a Tesla vehicle or a vehicle equipped with a J1772 charging port.
WARNING: Do not use the AC Magic Dock if it
is defective, appears cracked, frayed, broken or otherwise damaged, or fails
to operate.
WARNING: Do not attempt to open,
disassemble, repair, tamper with, or modify the AC Magic Dock. The AC Magic
Dock is not user serviceable. Contact Tesla for any repairs.
WARNING: To prevent damage to the AC Magic
Dock, or any components, handle with care when using or transporting it. Do
not subject it to strong force or impact or do not pull, twist, tangle, drag
or step on it.
WARNING: Protect the AC Magic Dock from
moisture, water and foreign objects at all times. If any exist or appear to
have damaged or corroded the AC Magic Dock, do not use it.
WARNING: Do not touch the AC Magic Dock’s
end terminals with sharp metallic objects, such as wire, tools or needles.
WARNING: Do not insert foreign objects into
any part of the AC Magic Dock.
WARNING: Ensure that AC Magic Dock’s charge
cable does not obstruct pedestrians or other vehicles or objects.
WARNING: Use of the AC Magic Dock may affect
or impair the operation of any medical or implantable electronic devices, such
as an implantable cardiac pacemaker or an implantable cardioverter
defibrillator. Check with the electronic device manufacturer concerning the
effects that charging may have on such electronic device before using the AC
Magic Dock.
WARNING: Do not use cleaning solvents to
clean the AC Magic Dock.

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
15.21 – Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user‘s authority to operate the equipment.
15.105 (b) – This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment oƒ and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit diƒerent from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
RF Exposure Information (MPE)
This device has been tested and meets applicable limits for Radio Frequency
(RF) exposure.
This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 20 cm
between the radiator & your body.

This device contains licence-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s licence-exempt RSS(s). Welcome to the AC Magic Dock
The AC Magic Dock is a versatile Tesla Wall Connector that provides AC
charging to any Tesla vehicle, as well as vehicles equipped with a J1772
charging port.
Releasing the Charge Cable
When charging a Tesla vehicle, simply pull the connector handle to remove the
Tesla connector.
When charging a vehicle with a J1772 charge port, press the button located at
the top of the adapter to release the adapter.
NOTE: An audible tone sounds whenever the J1772 connector is docked or un-docked.
Charging a Tesla
The charging procedure for Tesla vehicles has not changed, simply plug your vehicle in as you normally would at any other Tesla charging station. At public charging locations, authentication is not required and you don’t need to use the mobile app.
Charging a Vehicle with J1772
To charge a vehicle with J1772 at a home location requires that you simply release the J1772 connector by pressing the button as previously described. However, charging at a public location requires authentication. Follow these steps before using the AC Magic Dock at a public location:
- Download the Tesla app (available in the app store) to your phone.
- Launch the app and follow the steps to create a Tesla account.
Once you’ve created your Tesla account, use the app to find charging locations. When you arrive at the Tesla AC Magic Dock charging location, follow the instructions on the app to unlock the AC Magic Dock. Once unlocked:

Open the charge port door on your vehicle.

Release the J1772 charging connector from the dock by pressing the button as described previously. Pressing the button releases the latch and allows you to pull the J1772 connector out of the dock.

Follow the instructions on the app. The Tesla app displays charging progress, charging fees, etc. Your vehicle may also provide feedback confirming charging progress. This feedback depends on the vehicle’s make and model.

When charging is complete, disconnect the charge cable from your vehicle. You can stop charging at any time by touching STOP CHARGING on the Tesla app.
NOTE: Some vehicles lock the cable to the charge port while others do not. Disconnect the charge cable using the method appropriate for your type of vehicle. -
Return the charging cable to it’s location on the AC Magic Dock, ensuring it is fully docked.

The Tesla app provides all the instructions you need. You can also use the app to report any charging issues to Tesla. When reporting a charging problem, please provide the make and model of your vehicle, and the location of the AC Magic Dock.
