- Thank you for purchasing the EcoNet® Smart Thermostat.
- This easy-to-use programmable thermostat works with your Ruud® HVAC systems and water heaters, providing on-screen information when you’re home and complete control when you’re away. It’s smart enough to alert you when an issue is detected, yet easy to use with a simple touchscreen interface. And it has built-in WiFi, so you can monitor your system and adjust temperatures and schedules while on-the-go for optimum convenience, comfort and savings .

Before Installation Begins
Failure to read and follow all instructions carefully could cause personal
injury and/or property damage.
NOTE: All wiring must comply with national, state and local codes..
Mounting Recommendations
- Install thermostat on an interior wall approximately 5 feet above the floor
- Place away from drafts or direct sunlight
- Do not install behind doors or other objects
Electrical Specification
- Input Voltage — 22 VAC to 26 VAC (24 VAC typical)
- AC Line Frequency — 50/60 Hz
- WiFi — 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 GHz
Wiring Diagram
Use 18 AWG or larger for normal wiring applications.
NOTE: Four wires are required.
Wire units in a “daisy chain” and not in a “star” configuration.
The order of the devices in the network is not specified except the EcoNet
Smart Thermostat should be at one
end of the network.

Turn off power
WARNING: Turn off power to HVAC system at circuit breaker -
Place ferrite toroid (if provided) around thermostat wires and nest in drywall

Secure the wall plate
Use the dry wall anchors and screws provided. Tip: Ensure the back plate is straight by centering the bubble on the built-in level. -
Connect wires to the thermostat terminal
Note the wire color used for each terminal; it’s good practice to use the same wire color on identical termination points on the indoor and outdoor units. Tip: When installed correctly, the release lever of the terminal block will lower to indicate engagement. -
Attach display to mounted wall plate ****

Turn power on
Power system back on and let the EcoNet Smart Thermostat auto-configure your equipment.
