Product Usage Instructions
Installation:
- Suffocation: After taking the unit out of the polyethylene bag, dispose of the bag out of the reach of children to avoid suffocation hazards.
- Water and moisture: Avoid placing liquid containers on the appliance and installing it in damp places.
- Heat: Do not install the unit near heat sources like radiators or under direct sunlight.
- Modification: Do not attempt to open or modify the unit as it may cause fire hazards or malfunctions.
- Cleaning: Use a clean dry cloth to clean the cabinet. Do not use volatile solvents like alcohol, paint thinner, gasoline, or benzene.
- Abnormal smell: If you detect an abnormal smell or smoke, immediately turn off the power and unplug the appliance. Contact your dealer or nearest service center.
On the Desktop or Shelf:
- Place the speakers on a stable desktop or shelf, ensuring that each corner is supported by the included cushions. The cushions prevent sliding and dampen vibrations.
Note on Operation:
- Impedance: Before using the system, check the specifications of your amplifier and receiver to confirm that they accept a load impedance of 6 ohms.
- Maximum Input Power: Do not exceed the maximum input power of 80W. Excessive power can deteriorate audio quality, cause malfunctions, and increase the temperature of the tweeters and surroundings, leading to burns. Take special care in power management.

Important safeguards
Caution : Read this item carefully to keep your safety.
- Suffocation – After taking the unit out of the polyethylene bag, be sure to dispose of the polyethylene bag out of the reach of children. Otherwise, they may play with the bag, which could cause hazards of suff location.
- Water and moisture – Do not place a liquid container, such as a vase and water basin, on the appliance. Also, avoid installing the unit in a place subject to dampness.
- Heat – Do not install the unit near a source of heat, such as radiators, or under direct sunlight.
- Modification – Do not attempt to open or modify the unit, for this could cause fire hazards or malfunction.
- Cleaning – Do not use volatile solvents such as alcohol, paint thinner, gasoline, benzene, etc. to clean the cabinet. Use a clean dry cloth.
- Abnormal smell – If an abnormal smell or smoke is detected, immediately turn the power OFF and unplug the appliance from the wall outlet. Contact your dealer or nearest service center
Note on operation
- The nominal impedance of the speaker system is 6 ohms. Before using the system, check the specifications of your amplifier and receiver to confirm that they accept a load impedance of 6 ohms.
- The maximum input power that is allowed to be input to this speaker system is 80 W. If excessive power is applied to the speakers, the audio quality may deteriorate or malfunction may occur. In addition, heat generation may raise the temperature of the tweeters and the surroundings, causing burns to persons touching them. Take special care in the following points when using the system.
- Even when the output power of the amplifi er in use is lower than the maximum allowable input power of the speaker system, increasing the volume too much will distort the amplifi er output and cause an excessive input to the system. Be sure not to increase the amplifi er volume too much.
- Do not increase the amplifier volume too much while the low- and/or high-frequency levels are enhanced with the tone controls (BASS, TREBLE) or loudness control of the amplifi er.
- Avoid applying continuously the inter-station noise in FM broadcasting or a special signal (one containing harmonics, etc.) such as that generated during fast forwarding of tape to the speaker system.
- Minimize the amplifi er volume when changing a switch position or placing a stylus on an analog disc.
Installation
On the Desktop or Shelf
Place the speaker on the desktop, shelf, or a similar level sur-face.
- The speakers are not fixed on the desktop or shelf. Be careful not to topple them down.
- Be careful not to have your foot caught by the speaker wire.
- Attach four cushions to the base of the speaker, one at each corner. The cushions prevent the speaker from sliding and dampen its vibrations.
About Using Speakers Near a TV
This speaker includes magnetic shielding and can therefore be installed close
to a TV set. Note, however, that placing the speaker too close to a CRT-type
TV may in some cases produce distortion in the color reception. In such a
case, turn on the TV and check that color reproduction is normal. If the color
is distorted, turn the TV off for 15 to 30 minutes, then turn it back on and
check again. (This allows the TV’s degaussing circuitry to correct for the
magnetic fi eld from the speakers.) If distortion is still present, move the
speakers further from the TV.
- If there is a source of magnetism, including a magnet, is located in proximity, its interaction with the speaker may produce color irregularities on the TV screen. Be careful of the installation layout.
- Due to induction by electromagnetic waves generated from the TV set, the speakers may generate noise even when the power switch of the stereo system is set to OFF. In this case, install the TV set and speaker system at a larger distance.
Connections
Each speaker of this speaker system can be connected to either the left or right output channel of the amplifi er.
- CAUTION Be sure to turn off your amplifi er before connecting or disconnecting speakers.
Note on connection
- Never short the (+) and (–) speaker wire’s conductors together.
- Do not reverse L and R or (+) and (–) connections. Reversal of sides or polarities may result in unnatural, incorrectly positioned sounds.
The speaker wire can also be connected to the speaker by using banana plugs which are commercially available in audio stores. To use the banana plug connection, tighten the screws on the speaker terminals before inserting the banana plug
Maintenance
Maintenance of the unit
- When the speaker cabinets get dirty, wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
- Do not use thinner, benzine, alcohol, etc. for these agents may cause discoloration.
- In regard to contacting the cleaner
- Do not use contact cleaners because it could cause a malfunction. Be especially careful not to use contact cleaners containing oil, for they may deform the plastic component.
