Product Information
The Spell & Spin Pencil is a toy designed for children aged 3 and above. It comes with a 100 Words Notebook that allows children to learn how to spell and pronounce words. The pencil requires adult battery installation and uses two 1.5V AA (LR6) alkaline batteries (not included). The unit includes a switch with three positions: Off, Try Me, and On. It also features a dial switch to select the desired position. The pencil has a button on the tip that pronounces and spells words.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before using the Spell & Spin Pencil, an adult must install fresh alkaline batteries in the unit. Follow these steps:
    • Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws and battery compartment cover from under the pencil.
    • Install two 1.5V AA (LR6) alkaline batteries, ensuring that the (+) and (-) ends face the proper direction as indicated inside the battery compartment.
    • Replace the compartment cover and tighten the screws to ensure the compartment is closed.
  2. To start using the pencil, turn the switch from Try Me (X) to the ON position ( ). Make sure the bottom arrow is pointed to the desired position when moving the dial switch.
  3. Pick a word to spell from the 100 Words Notebook.
  4. Spin the letter blocks on the pencil until the word has been correctly spelled between the two blue arrows.
  5. To hear the word spelled and pronounced, press the button on the tip of the pencil.
  6. Note that the pencil will pronounce only the words shown in the book. For words not shown or misspelled, the pencil will prompt the child to try to pronounce it.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

The batteries included in the pencil are for an in-store demonstration. Before playing, an adult must install fresh alkaline batteries (not included) in the unit. Here’s how:

  • To conserve battery power, always turn it off (O) after playing.

  • Do not hit or throw the pencil at people or pets, as doing so may cause injury to the person and irreparable damage to the unit.
  • This toy can be cleaned with a damp (not wet) cloth. Please ensure that no moisture enters the electronics or battery compartment.
  • Do not place under direct or excessive heat.

We warrant to the original purchaser that this product is free of defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase (a dated sales receipt is required for proof of purchase). BATTERY SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Use only size “AA” (LR6) alkaline batteries (2 required).
  • Charging of rechargeable batteries should only be done under adult supervision.
  • Remove rechargeable batteries from the product before recharging.
  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable batteries.
  • Be sure to insert the batteries correctly and follow the toy and battery manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Always remove exhausted or dead batteries from the product.
  • Dispose of dead batteries properly: do not burn or bury them.
  • Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
  • Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
